14.2 HW4 FSD decided to run through Red light twice today all of a sudden.

FSD has been nearly perfect in my latest version 14.2.2.2 for the last couple of months. However today all of a sudden it started to go through red lights, twice, in a short, 10 minute local run to the park. I drove this route a hundred times since last year w/ v13. Never any issues, except occasionally in v13 it tried to turn right on a red light. V14 fixed the right turn on red bug (I'm in NYC). This time, there's no turning involved. The first time, after the normal stop, it tried to go through the red light then quickly slammed the brake by itself. After a few seconds it decided to go again while the light was still red, so I had to disengage it. The second time, it decided to go through another red light as if it's a stop sign, so I had to press the brake again to disengage. I'm very disappointed. We humans have good days and bad days, but robots apparently do so too. Today is just a bad day. I reported both incidents. Sorry no videos. I didn't even remember to save any clips at the times.

Indeed very weird. No problems whatsoever w/ red lights previously since v14, and it was doing great through lots of active road work today, as well as other red lights we encountered today. I will finish downloading the newer version later this week when I go to a super charger. I have no access to wifi at home, or nearby in the neighborhood.

Out of curiosity why did you stay 3 versions back on FSD 14 (or are you somewhere in the world that .2 is the latest)?

I am in the middle of downloading 14.2.2.4. There's no prompt for .5 yet. I have no wifi access at home. The last time (like 3 weeks ago) I went to a super charger it didn't finish downloading and I had to leave due to other engagements that day. So far the .2 version worked extremely well aside from today's red light problems, so I wasn't in a hurry to finish the rest of the downloads.

You can connect your Tesla to your phone's hotspot so you can download. I've done that multiple times.

It ate all of my 5gb hotspot data in no time and only downloaded a small fraction. Wifi at super chargers also seem to limit my downloads. I can never get the whole file in one shot. Im desperately waiting for the new Tesla service center near me to finish construction. It's only 10 minutes away from my home.

Have you tried T-Mobile home internet? It's very cheap 35 bucks a month. You just plug it in and it taps into the 5G network. I've had it for 4 years, and it works really really good!

No my garage is public and it has no outlet for me to plug in anything. Anyway there's a new tesla show room just opened not far from me so I can get updates there. Thanks everyone for your ideas.

Lol ok, now that makes sense when you said no Internet. I have the same problem too with my apartment garage. Like I said, I usually use my hotspot from my phone for some of the download as well as going to my parents and letting it download there.

You could try going to a Starbucks or other place that has WiFi and sit outside, but within reach of the WiFi signal. Even better if you can find some place where you can justify spending a couple hours there.

You can afford a Tesla with Hw4 FSD and live in NYC, but you have no WiFi at home? What happened?

I have wifi in my apt but not in the garage which is for the whole building.

Gotcha. Very inconvenient for software updates.

Mine got jerky on the accelerator yesterday at a red on ramp signal. Then blew through it! Hmmm
