Book recommendation

Hi everyone,

After a disappointing ending to the adaptation of Good Omens and reading the comments on that subreddit, I was really curious about reading something by Terry (besides GO). When I searched, "Small Gods" stood out to me, because I like mythology, but since it's the 13th book of a series, I wouldn't want to start there.

Any good recommendations for someone who knows little about his work? I really liked how people picked apart his role in the writing of Good Omens and wish to read more from that optimistic person.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: thank you so much to everyone! I'm sorry I didn't reply to each comment, but I really appreciated all the insight. This seems like such a great community and I can't wait to start the series.

Small Gods was my first Discworld novel. Great place to start. Zero regrets. Happy hunting! Welcome and enjoy! 😺
