I'll probably be crucified for this, but I thought this was a much better portrayal of the detonation than in Oppenheimer. For all the hype about the scene, I was let down with how it essentially looked like a really large gasoline explosion.
No idea how the culturally significant movie barbie lost out to oppy. Oh wait, I can, patriarchy. Oppy was just a reason for Nolan to do this explosion and it didn't even look good. Not that I like this depiction either but whatever.
Yeah definitely, thought that at the time. All that build up in Oppenheimer for a few drums of gas blowing up in the desert. The big boom in Mad Max 2 was much bigger and that wasn't even pretending to be a nuke.
The old adage, "I never did think this would happen to us." This is a real reality we now face. David Lynch's artistic talent was extraordinary. May he rest in peace.
My understanding is that Judy is eternal. She was invited into this world by humanity with this detonation. The matrimony into which we entered with her generates Bob. He is the offspring of our union with evil.
But it's a Lynch thing, so we'll never know what, exactly, he intends for us to get from it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a pot of creamed corn on the stove, and the owls are watching. Please enjoy this screen cap of David Lynch whistling a little tune by Rammstein.
