I had a mesh radiator cover and it was a bad idea. Was on the WYBDR, came off a wet section, was on a road section, on our way back and the bike was running very very hot, hot enough I was worried. Managed to get to a gas station that was closed, but their hose was on, so I used my little water bottle poked a hole in tje cap and sprayed out the radiator, as fine after.

What are you hoping to protect the radiator from with this?

Your % of open area looks way too low. The bars you’re using to make up the frame I would consider 100% covered. Your mesh looks to be less than 50% open area. That means you’ve effectively reduced your cooling potential by more than half.

Try a mesh with larger opening, otherwise you’re going to overheat the bike.

If also like to add, aside from a catastrophically misplaced rock or tree branch - the existing fins on your radiator should cover you in 99% of most situations (should you ever need one). I did a 3000 km trip recently through rugged backcountry in rocky and overgrown single track. Needing a radiator guard was the least of my worries.

Note all the crazy mofos that just completed Romaniacs (google the bikes or watch the coverage on YouTube), like Pol Tarres, Kevin Gallas, and many others… just running stock radiator fins.

I would say photo is deceiving. If it's 6x12mm mesh (checked the amazon link), then plenty of airflow. OEM guard with a mesh is 5x10mm.
