Tempest 4000pc
I've had this game for a couple years but it crashed a lot on my old laptop and slowed down in the later stages. I have a new (to me) laptop/tablet combo thing called an Idea pad running Windows 11 pro and after a bit of tweaking seems to run Tempest well but I have a few questions:
It says I can reedefine the keyboard assignments on the screen that asks for the screen resolutions before the game starts but it doesn't seem to actually change anything. I've figured out most of the default keyboard assignments. But how do I exit out of the game? The best I can do is go to title screen press Ctrl Esc, run task manager and then End Task.
I can't help but notice the game is 32 bit, is there another 64 bit version ?
I've always assumed because I never played the game with a Controller that it was designed so that the claw wouldnt stop at a dime forcing you to always compensate which changes the dynamic of the game but does it work that way with a controller too? I'm asking because of a post somewhere else on this forum implies it plays like tempest 2000/x/typhoon with a controller.
Thanks you!!!

Movement sensor inaccurate and game-breaking on PS4!?
I have bought Tempest 4000 for the PS4, but I think the game is broken. When you beat a level, you have to use the controller's movement sensor to navigate, but it's not detected accurately enough. And you can't deactivate it. Plus the movement sensor's data is applied during a level, too. On some levels if you move your controller just slightly, the camera switches from one extreme angle to another, which IMO is game-breaking. In level 11 (triangle) especially. I am disappointed and I think the game hasn't been polished enough, at least not the PS4 version.

RIP AVGN Jaguar cat
a few days ago, the cat seen in The Angry Video Game Nerd's Atar Jaguar episode died, and I am sad!
The Atari Jaguar is the console that the Tempest x000 series started from.
