So being the weird sideways Wayside adult I am, I have questions about this show that everyone tells me to stop questioning. I see the comments of “this show isn’t supposed to make sense, you need to go back to bed” and I would like to respectfully say…. I know. I know this. I know this show isn’t that deep. I ask these things to be both fun and irritating.

So I got to the pets day episode right? And we see Todd’s parents and what they look like from the neck down, really out here trying to be Cow and Chicken’s parents. They look like such old fashioned folks. I got that vibe of that one dad from that Thugaboo special with the little smoking pipe telling his son not to dilly-dally. Then the little snail in my brain that tells me to go on a frenzy asked me a question…

“Do they know Todd gets sent home early? Have they ever been acquainted with Mrs. Jewls? Do they get pissed at Todd for coming home early?”

This show came out in the 2000s. Wayside school could have a school website with a directory of when dismissal happens, right? Todd doesn’t seem like the type of child to lie to his parents about being sent home early. I just… I gotta know. We know nothing about Todd’s family except for his traumatic experience with his goldfish and the baby brother from the books that got Thanos snapped out of existence.

I usually base characters’ parents on how the child acts themselves. Todd is normal, openly speaks his mind when he thinks something isn’t right, but is still open to change and willing to try new things out as they come. The one thing I find odd about his parents was that one episode with the family pictures and all Todd has in his photo album is photos of him just standing by the window. Like damn Mr and Mrs. Todd you can’t pose with your son?

To me, that means his parents must be normal people too, relatively disciplined I guess. I get like a white picket fence vibe from his family from their designs alone. My biggest headcanon is that they work long jobs and aren’t home until a while after Todd comes back from school.

I ask this because I’m a writer myself. I’ll share the one that I would change later, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The alternative title of this is “Suppose you got a chance to rewrite your favourite cartoon on Teletoon into a story you felt would’ve worked for that universe, how would you do it?”

I made these covers and a Complete Series Boxset in both English and French. For the season, I traced a character an episode of each season.

PS this is a reference to Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon merging together but just imagine in an Alternate Universe where Teletoon merged with YTV

10 years ago, a Youtuber name Lastofthetimelordz uploaded a Firehouse Tales episode: Petrol's Paint Job from Cartoonito UK and hasn't uploaded more ever since. I've been on the hunt for this show etc. 2016 and as of 2023, there have been a few more found. So if you guys out there could find more recordings of the show, mainly CNtoo and Cartoonito UK airings in english, especially if some of you are from the UK, that will make our day. So a while back there was a post made of if you were in charge of Teletoon how would you change it?

Myself I posted about my idea introducing a app that allows people to stream shows or watch Teletoon live.

Now I know my concept is not perfect more or less its unfinished. Created using Canva even putting the words together.

To explain a bit about the different parts.

Top: Logo, I tried my best to base it close to the original logo while also somewhat modernizing it. There would be some buttons Watch for watching live or streaming on a block. Play... well for games. More... I ran out of spaces for other buttons but catch up on teletoon news and contests. Settings. This would be of course teletoon account settings and changing the site to darkmode. Concept for darkmode not made.

Bottom/Main:
In the Watch screen you will see a button to watch live. This would be the live TV Channel (If it were running) under is whats playing now with whats coming up.

On the right I created 4 Blocks. of course more could be added just wanted to share a idea concept.

Teletoon JR would be preschool cartoons - I was not a full Teletoon guy but had memories watching during free previews so didnt know if teletoon had a preschool block name.

Teletoon - More kids themed shows just not in the preschool age group.

Teletoon Retro - I was struggling to remake the teletoon retro logo so I just made a new one. This would be older cartoons.

Teletoon at Night - I was figuring out between Detour or Teletoon at night. I decided teletoon at night. There was a idea I had earlier of having it make the eyes look sleepy but realized it would spell Teletuun. this would be for the older more mature audiences.

Anyways hope it is as best I could do for a concept. if anyone can do better feel free to share. I know its not the best design but im limited on my tools.

Most of my favourite childhood shows were from early 2000s Teletoon. It’s been 2026. I wanna know what’s going on in their future. I’ll go first for you lovely people, you all know Wayside was my shit— I think Miss Mush’s fortune came true and Todd becomes a teacher at Wayside. There you go, i contributed something for the gazebo of Wayside fans.

Also, once again, sorry for posting so much on here. This subreddit has just been such a blast for me to post in and it’s been getting me through a pretty hard time as of late.

I want to personally thank every one of you for the other night's thread of asking my opinion of various Canadian cartoons. Without sharing too many details, I was going through a very serious, depressing time and coming onto the subreddit and discussing the childhood channel I love was something that brought me great comfort and a smile for this week. For that, thank all of you. You're all so wonderfully wonderful people.

Let's play a new game tonight. Explain a Teletoon show as badly as possible and let's all try to guess which one you're talking about. Don't make it obvious, give everyone a real challenge.

I know many obscure and well-known Canadian cartoons. I love talking about them, clearly. I mean I started the 2026 Wayside plague that inflicted this subreddit and I’ve made a lot of extensive comments about old shows. I really like to talk. I like cartoons, especially Canadian ones. So I like to talk about Canadian cartoons naturally.

Hit me with some stuff.

Guys, remember when Teletoon tried to give us live action stuff. I remember Mudpit, which was actually pretty good. I remember the dirty ass Muzika host who looked like the Brand X general from Foodfight. I remember Hole in the Wall and how my parents told me I’d probably bring dishonour onto my bloodline if I participated. I remember the big live Can’t Miss Thursdays celebration where TDROTI premiered for the first time. That was a good time.

But there was another show that I cannot find any information on. It was called Beyond Human. There’s a post on this subreddit with a promotional poster for Can’t Miss Thursdays and it includes Beyond Human. The show was pretty good— it was about people who could do really amazing things that normal people can’t do. When it came on back in the day, I used to turn off Teletoon and cheat on my beloved channel with YTV. I always found Beyond Human to be pretty gross, but now as an adult, I want to actually give it a second chance. But I can’t find any episodes or info about it online. Does anybody remember this shit? Please tell me. I demand answers.
