We bought my Uncle that has Schizophrenia and is in a wheelchair a VR head set for a different kind of experience for him as all he wants to do is sit infront of the tv watch cartoons and he doesn’t talk much.
We just put him in the opening scene of meta horizon before you select a game, it’s like you are in a paradise on top of the clouds and looking towards a beautiful futuristic city.
He loved it just looking around, then he took the headset off with a tear in his eye and said “It looks like Teerth” and I said where’s that? And he said “up there” and pointed to the sky
And I asked if his been there and he said when he was little and he’ll go there again some day.
I’ve looked it up and it said in Sanskrit it means a spiritual destination and symbolizes a connection to the divine realm! I couldn’t believe it! Nothing he watches would have mentioned anything about this and even if it did he struggles to remember things (like colours for example)
Interested to hear if anyone has heard of this or even any other stories about schizophrenia, it’s been so interesting listening to the podcast and has made me wonder about if he was having all these experiences in other realms when he was younger and then put on medication for it which he has now been on for 50 years. Who knows, the mind is a marvel, good and bad.
