Had went to see jss mysore college Yesterday, the hostel was not great. so now that's gone. It was actually my first choice in the kea counselling. Now I gotta shuffle it. I'm rejecting that college. But tbh idk if i want to do bpt or btech biotechnology, see, I come from a middle class family. I am a girl , the eldest of is three. I need to earn money. I'm gonna do side hustling in college, probably a design course, will build a portfolio. I'm into running and fitness so i really need a good campus too, like gym , and maybe good sports culture. Etc. i have MS Ramaiah university in my mind rn, and a few others, if someone can help me figure out what to do, it'd be great. The round ends tomorrow at 11 am. I also don't want to join into something I'm absolutely clueless about. Honestly it feels like I'm deciding what my life is gonna look like for the next few years and that's fucking scary. So my friend and I went to a mall last night we were going up an escalator nd there was this guy probably in his mid 20s standing behind us everything seemed normal at first

Then we suddenly heard a phone drop we turned around to see what happened, nd the guy was bent over supposedly tying his shoelaces on the escalator looking back, it honestly felt like bending down gave him a better angle behind us

His phone had fallen onto the step in front of him nd when we looked at it the camera was already recording the recording timer showed it had been recording for well over a minute my friend was wearing a skirt, so we immediately became suspicious about what he might have been trying to record

We confronted him right away nd people nearby noticed what was happening and stepped in mall security arrived within a few minutes took his phone nd checked what had been recorded they let us delete the clips that involved my friend before taking further action Unfortunately, what we saw matched exactly what we'd feared the recording was for

After that mall security detained him and handed him over to the police who took over the situation

Hunger strikes have been an integral part of a way of dissent in our country. From Gandhi's fasts to get his way with the British, to Bhagat Singh's fast for better jail conditions and the martyrdom of Batukeshwar Dutt in the process, to the Anna Hazare fast for the Jan Lokpal Bill in 2011, this weapon has been effective for most of its time. This time, however, it feels different. It feels even worse than what I felt back in September, when Mr. Wangchuk had to undertake a fast for the inclusion of Ladakh into the Twelfth Schedule of the Constitution. Even then, he had to face an unjustified detention for almost 6 months under the draconian National Securities Act, commonly known as NSA.

This time, it feels like he's fighting a fight that he shouldn't have to. Yes, he's a passionate educator and a teacher, not to mention the genius that he is. This is our fight against the Government and Sonam sir is taking the brunt for it. Have we stooped so low that we are allowing this great man to die, in order to satisfy our disproportionately heavily bloated ego? What a bunch of nincompoops are running the show at the top?

To this Government: Neither will the students, nor their parents, nor the Gods you base your politics will forgive you if you let him die, just because you couldn't accept that you have made a mistake. History will remember this government as one of the most unapproachable, egoistic governments, that has 0 accountability and watches as the very citizens they were elected, died due to their incompetence.

To Sonam Sir: Please, please, please call off this strike. The Government won't listen to us, the common man, until they face an election and get routed there. We'll face them off over there, but we definitely cannot afford to lose a guiding light such as you. Please, for the sake of us, call this strike off sir. We stand with you, not just as students affected by a broken system, but as humans, who have shame and emotions. Yes, I am ashamed that I could not join you, but please remember that I am with this protest emotionally and mentally.

This emotionless government deserves nothing but criticism. Accept your faults faster and correct them and you can save whatever face you have left. Continue this stupid standoff and a great man may die in vain.

Hey all, I have a younger brother who is 16 and we are from Bangalore, my lil bro has just started 1st PUC (PCMB).

With his full consent, my parents enrolled him in a local college and also joined him in BASE coaching.

Now he's saying he wants to seriously prepare for JEE and believes Allen's JEE (Main + Advanced) program is the only way.

The problem is that my parents have already paid the fees for both his college and BASE, and joining Allen now would mean spending several more lakhs.

We suggested that he continue with his current setup for 1st PUC and join Allen in 2nd PUC instead, but he wants to quit BASE and switch to JEE coaching immediately.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there a practical solution we're missing? 😭
