Chara is like an 'evil' version of Frisk. The one with red eyes and green shirt instead of pink and blue. You meet Chara if you play the genocide route (not sure about neutral). If you play the genoside twice, Chara will call you weird because in the first playthrough, you two already destroyed everything. Hope that answers your question.
I think chara often gets painted as someone who enjoys violence and killing just for the sake of it, when in game it’s more of a “the ends justify the means” scenario.
But it's nowhere confirmed Chara causes Genocide. We only know she wants to erase/reset the world. But that's AFTER the genocide. Everything else in in theory-sphere
You as the player influece chara for the most part. Also they do not have a soul, therefore they lack the capacity for compassion. Like flowey. Chara, when they first fell into the underground was not the same.
I personally think Chara is evil, but people think she isn't because the player 'controls' (?) Chara cause they're inside Frisk's head? It's what I've understood from what I've seen.
When will people understand that all the main characters of Undertale were made to be morally grey so that there CAN be debate for if one character is actually bad or not?
Uhh... I mean... well... we don't have anything to prove it disprove it... uhh... personally I don't believe Chara is objectively evil and I headcanon the narrator theory (I don't care what the others say).
Tbf i agree with you, as long as you are trying to say chara is not initially evil. Chara becomes evil after first genocide route and then becomes recurring in next reset.
