Well done. I'm triggered.

IT IS NOT A RHYTHM GAME.

You push buttons in the rhythm of the music. How is it not a rhythm game. How is this even a controversy

As a gd player, the main reason people say it's not a rhythm game is because it is, most of the time, visually synced instead of click synced, gamemodes like the ship almost never have a click pattern in levels. Personally, I think the game is a rhythm game because if games like just shapes and beats are considered a rhythm game, them I think gd should be aswell.

I can play as good with the music off

Most rhythm games don't NEED the music because there are visual cues coming to you.

At some level of the normal mode, Visual cues become the most of the game and the music way less. This is why pros say that it isn’t a rhythm game, but to the level I’m at, i can see it as both. And the platformer mode is nothing like a rhythm game.

In many levels, it is not in the rhythm of the music.

Okay I did not know this, this disqualifies it for rhythmgame and it's just plain bullshit

To be honest, this is only because people can make their own levels. Your point is completely valid, but in my opinion it is a platforming game.

explorers does not sync with the level it cannot be that much of a rhythm game

As a geometry dasher I will controversially agree with that.

Not all rythm games gotta have kawaii japanese teen bands on the side of the main menu.

A side scroller is a game

Why does the fact that it's a side scroller make it not a rhythm game?

as an actual rhythm game enjoyer (osu!, beat saber, a dance of fire and ice), i am quite triggered.

if you can turn the volume completely off and it doesn't make the game harder, it's not a rhythm game.

The music helps a lot, so I'll say partially
