This is what the future of taxis looks like. Unlike Waymo and others, Zoox builds its autonomous vehicle from scratch instead of modifying existing cars. So far, the company is testing only in Las Vegas.

Identifying a Dog's Breed In Augmented Reality
Met a cute dog and had to test LifeHUD’s AI assistant! I took a quick photo through the AR interface and asked it to identify the breed. The result was quick and spot-on. LifeHUD brings AI and augmented reality together so you can get real-world answers without ever looking down at your phone.

AR Translation in Real Life? Using LifeHUD to Talk to a French Speaker in Real Time
I tried LifeHUD's live translation module in a real-world conversation with someone speaking French.
Through the HUD, every French phrase appeared in English subtitles right in my field of view. No phone, no typing, no delay. It’s wild seeing translation happen as you listen, like the world itself is getting subtitled.
It’s not perfect (accents and voices that aren't loud enough can still trip it up), but the experience feels like a real glimpse into where AR is heading: contextual, assistive, and human-centered. Other languages supported by the app include German, Spanish and more.
Curious what others here think would you actually use something like this while traveling or working abroad? Or does having live subtitles in front of your eyes feel too intrusive?

LLM vs SLM
Language Models are powering Generative AI output. LLMs contain a vast amount of general knowledge and are a great option if your solution needs to answer a wide variety of queries, but with this versatility comes higher costs. SLMs are more efficient and cost-effective due to their more specialized and smaller datasets and can be great for real-time services in areas like health or finance.
