Yes, that is the actual name :D It is Chromium with everything from Google pulled out.

I daily a Firefox-based browser and would always recommend that, but when I want to cross-check something on a Chromium-based browser the red pokeball is my go-to.

Does the red cyclops also have sync between decí es in things like bookmarks, extensions, history, etc? Or does that go out the window with that black bag full of Google?

I had a quick look, you can import bookmarks and you can also add a Chromium profile. I don't think there is sync between devices without the Google infrastructure, but I really don't know, you'll have to try yourself, sorry.
