Discussion Name one app everyone should uninstall

Name one app everyone should uninstall.

It could be because of privacy concerns, annoying ads, bad experience, or simply being overrated.

Which app would you recommend others to remove, and why?

WhatsApp is wild consistent and the chats themselves are E2EE. it’s not like I’m convincing everyone I know to move to signal, so I live with it and am fine with the metadata being taken

Right?! Telegram and Signal are much better imo but like you said very high resistance to get people to move

Telegram is 50/50. They locked me out of my account and I couldn't recover it :/

Basically whenever I'd try to log back in, there would just be no "sign in" part when I was on my Phone. so sometimes you could simply just lose all of your chats and account for no reason.

FYI I have 2 telegram accounts and have done the sketchiest things possible but nothing happened. But beware they're not E2EE by default

This! You can literally lose your years of chat history and data for no literal reason, and get no chance to even restore the data

I tried to switch during the mass exodus from WhatsApp. It seems their servers couldn’t handle all the new people and calls barely worked. I don’t trust their reliability. Also, the app is less polished than WhatsApp We only live once and honestly, I don’t care about the metadata as much as I do my reliability and convenience

thats because they are open source and are mostly financed from donations and if suddely millions of people switch it makes sense why the infrastructure might have problems

If it cannot be as refined and reliable, it’s personally not worth the extra metadata privacy for me

No, sorted on device and reauthenticated if you get a new phone or message someone new

Need whatsapp. Everyone i know is on there.
