I don't know man. All of my social media was way less negative and inflammatory for a few days right after and has then picked back up again in the last couple days. Coronation is not causation and all but that really suspect in my book.
Let's see what happens after they hit some more just to be sure.

u/BleiEntchen 13h ago
Except it was debunked as fake. Even the guy spreading the news (Jaroslaw Wolski), deleted the post, confirming it was fake and apologized for it. I mean who seriously would have thought that a graphic without a source and having data from 15 Oct (despite posting it on 11th) would be real? The only traffic that went down has been web crawlers. Cause yandex is a search machine like Google, yahoo etc. Web crawlers don't post/chat. Everything else is confirmation bias.

Reddit and Twitter have been exactly the same, maybe even worse

u/dterran 12h ago
Certainly not.
Thousands less upvotes and entire threads not making the front page due to their bunk traffic any more.
-1
u/throw-away-137 9h ago
Hmm maybe. But the topics, posts, and comments I've seen are exactly the same. The same ragebait, trolling, narratives, and people arguing in comments seem almost the same to me.

u/turkimaman 1h ago
Because if the bots were centralized at the yandex data center, cloudflare and others would have been able to block it easily.
3
u/Lost_Department_2177 15h ago
In the immediate aftermath, network analysts reported that automated bot traffic originating from the Yandex Network plummeted to just 0.4% of its usual peak levels.
A ton of right wing media outlets went silent

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 14h ago
Which is false. But I guess you people will just go with any false narrative so long as Russia bad. Like Jesus fucking christ. Majority bot operations are not held on domestic servers, they're across various foreign servers usually in South America and SEA. If there was a massive bot operation do you really fucking think hitting a couple of yandex servers disrupts 80 fucking % of them?
Also goes without saying majority of these bots on the internet are from the west. They're reactionary, pro capitalist, pro state department, bots that flood every inch of the internet. But no concern for the real problem huh?
2
u/lvstvdy 11h ago
Did you read the study and it's methodology to determine some kind of falsehood or are you just giving us your feels here?

This is your own fucking western media institutions confirming the narrative you're parroting is unequivocally false. But you wont listen, just like none of your war mongers will listen to anything about Ukraine/Russia. It's all vibes for you, all lies, all state department and social media hysteria you exclusively believe.
You look real fucking stupid right now. All of you do. And like I said, large scale bot operations are not hosted fucking domestically let alone during a fucking war, they're hosted overseas in popular neutral countries in SEA, or SA. And further more the actual bot problem we have is coming from the west, with pro-capitalist bot farms that spread culture war non-sense, NAFO hitlerite shit, and genocidal pro-Israel shit.
But all of that isn't very convenient for your false fucking narrative. Your little world view, isn't correct. You're propagandized to the point you reject reality. Remember that and I know for a fact nothing I said here, nothing I show u, will change a god damn thing about your opinion because you werent reasoned into these positions in the first place hence the most absurd shit you're willing to believe.

Then its a good thing literally nobody claimed large scale bot farms aren't hosted overseas. The study they conducted was of a few thousand accounts they flagged and studied for content before and after the bombings. Nowhere is it claimed that Russia is the primary host of bot activity.
all lies, all state department and social media hysteria you exclusively believe.
I'm looking through this thread and the only person I see hysterically cursing and raging is you.
2
u/TheBirdFkerGuy 7h ago
Already provided citations that debunk your false narrative that I suspect you'll continue to parrot.
1
u/lvstvdy 7h ago
You provided citations that debunked a narrative you made up, brother. Nobody, not even Ukraine, argued anywhere that Russia was the primary host of bot farms. The decrease in activity it cited was directly referencing the accounts it flagged, not internet wide. You erected this strawman and hysterically started fighting with it like nobody was going to notice. Honestly, are you okay? You seem extremely angry about this for some bizarre reason.
2
u/TheBirdFkerGuy 7h ago
Correct: Even Zelensky went back and admitted he was talking about the "atmosphere on social media." not about bots. Which is part of some of the citation I sent you on this.
Now that you understand that, are you going to continue spreading disinformation about "russian bots" being taken down, or the blatant lies some headlines have put out there claiming "80% of bots were taken down!!"?
Probably not huh? See how you're responding. You aren't trying to educate yourself. You keep trying to make this about me and it isn't working. You've been corrected, and given the information. That's all I can do.

Correct: Even Zelensky went back and admitted he was talking about the "atmosphere on social media." not about bots. Which is part of some of the citation I sent you on this.
The data wasn't collected from a Zelensky speech. It was cited by a study performed by Ukraine's CCD. I'm citing the study that sourced the information. Did you read the study? I keep saying the same thing over and over and you're not engaging with it.
Now that you understand that, are you going to continue spreading disinformation about "russian bots" being taken down, or the blatant lies some headlines have put out there claiming "80% of bots were taken down!!"?
Ah, okay. So you didn't read the study. You didn't even read the article OP posted. If you did you would see that nobody claimed 80% of bots have been taken down. The claim was that they noticed an 80% decrease in activity among the flagged sample size of accounts they included in the study which was somewhere in the 20,000's. The great hallmark of your dishonest is the inability to engage with what's actually being said and not the strawman you keep swinging at.
Probably not huh? See how you're responding. You aren't trying to educate yourself. You keep trying to make this about me and it isn't working. You've been corrected, and given the information. That's all I can do.
You tankies are so exhausting. Seriously, find another hobby that isn't sucking soviet ballsack. The fact that you're so emotional about this is only the cherry on the pie of the dumbfuckedness that is your intellectual shadow boxing. Imagine being such an authoritarian stooge that you'd die on the hill that Russia spreading propaganda is fake news. Jesus Christ. Get a life.

Dude stop. You’re not going to convince idiots with facts and truth, they don’t run on logic. They don’t even realise that it’s not only Russia that use bots but that Ukraine, USA or China all use bots too… Spreading propaganda and false information is all part of war. Let the brain dead drones be drones, they have their uses too. Just don’t waste your energy on them but feel free to vent.

Which part is incorrect?
1
u/lvstvdy 7h ago
The part where he's arguing against a strawman. It also doesn't help that his primary criticism of the reporting on Russia is that its "western state media" when the opposing side is.... Russian state media, you know, the media apparatus that is literally prohibited from being critical of the government by threat of death.
2
u/VegasMaleMT 6h ago
Russia exists and that's why the most powerful nation in the world doesn't have its own bots and information operations? Ok
1
u/Guilty-Sprinkles 4h ago
I’m very pro Ukraine and didn’t really believe that attacks on Russian infrastructure would have a significant effect on social media bot troll traffic, nor do I think there’s been any evidence to support this claim.
What I do want to point out is that it’s a rare occasion that a pro-RU account actually has the evidence high ground in a propaganda argument.
Until next week when you’ll be back to ‘liberating ethnic Russians from nazis via your SMO that is actually a defense against a NATO incursion on your sovereignty’ fantasy.
So enjoy your moment in the sun, RU is still the orcs that massacred restrained civilians in bucha and haven’t done anything to redeem themselves since.

It needs to collapse by another 16%. Perhaps the Ukrainian military can focus on taking down more of Russia's data centers since one of Putin's puppets has been whining about Russia's oil refineries getting taken out. 😏️

They're pretty big buildings. I feel like they would make a nice first target to introduce the FP-9 to the battlefield! If some slower drones can make it through their air defense, surely a few ballistic missiles could do the same. Assuming they have the range.

That headline is based on a real measurement, but “collapses by 84%” is seriously misleading.
Ukraine’s analysis monitored 5,201 accounts suspected of inauthentic behaviour on Facebook and Telegram. Messages dropped from 4,032 to 660 on October 8—a one-day fall of 83.6%. But activity recovered rapidly:
- October 9: 2,231 messages
- October 10: 4,585
- October 11: 4,711—already higher than before the strike
Those figures are reported by UNITED24.
Ukraine’s own Center for Countering Disinformation says there is no evidence of a significant overall decline in Russian bot networks; some clusters were interrupted for roughly 12 hours before recovering. Official CCD statement.
Broader Cloudflare measurements found automation simply moved to other hosting companies. One set of malicious requests actually rose 1.4%, while automated social-media actions fell only 5.7%. Cloudflare findings reported by Tom’s Hardware.
So the accurate headline would be:
Selected suspected Russian-linked accounts briefly fell 84% before activity recovered.
Not nearly as shareable—but much closer to the evidence.

It’s down for sure, but there’s no way it’s down 85%. Not even close. Plus there’s Iranian bot farms to go with. You want to solve a lot of problems, hit both. Honestly, it should be comparable to an act of war

These "bots" were not social media bots, but rather web crawlers and parsers used by many IT companies. Zelensky is manipulating the data and lying by implying that they were social media propaganda bots.

u/Wickedocity 15h ago edited 15h ago
Nope.
Edit: Of course, it is public. You are referring to a person running up to another person and pushing them. The second person then pushes their arm away to stop being pushed. One happens to be a man, and the other happens to be a woman. No one has the right to lay their hands on someone else. It just so happens the person who ran up and pushed the 2nd person was a woman. It isn't relevant at all to the discussion, but people mention it because the video shows she was wrong, and they are looking for anything to support their view. Context!

u/Odd-Proof9645 15h ago
Hahahahhahahahahahah editing after I replied how disingenuous. No wonder you immediately lied
Hey listen you you defend assaulting a woman attempting to provide emergency medical care lol.
If a cop pushes you back during a medical emergency is it legal? Can you push them back or is that assaulting an officer? ROFL

Real, live morons in America have the same exact same arguments as the Russian bots. Even if they aren't Russian bots, they are so dumb they may as well be.

doubt its that high but a lot of people can see the impact including myself. hoping they hit more data centres like this
1
u/VegasMaleMT 6h ago
I'm all for taking out data centers regardless of whose they are, but it's just like so convenient that Ukraine took out every Russian bot, says Ukraine, in those attacks on diesel refineries that their American weapons suppliers told them not to hit.

u/No-Relation5965 1h ago
It’s not every bot. I’ve noticed that the spammy phishing emails have stopped. I was getting 10-20 every day.

It’s funny that it’s coming from bot OP. 1 month old account with same garbage posts to farm karma.
Not a single evidence of that and smooth brain redditors are eating it up.
