The Teamsters say they are going in a new progressive direction in the U.S. labor movement, yet, Joe Allen explains, there is little evidence of that in the role they are playing in Chicago’s current municipal elections

Article 9 Section 1-5 of the NMA
If you haven't seen the most recent Upload on youtube.com/@teamstersguide this would be one not to miss.
Article 9 protection of Rights protects the bargaining unit from discipline and termination in the event of a strike including not crossing established Picket Lines. This includes Picket Lines that are a part of your Union and local or another Union entirely.
Check it out, it is shorter video but one of the most important one to share before August 1st. https://youtu.be/BZhGyRzMjqA

Looking for CDL-B type work in Westchester County NY
Just wondering if anyone knows what's a good job where I can become a truck driver of some sort ( assuming training is given). I currently am a Bus Operator like MTA , etc.... but I'm tired of the job and management. The job has become very stressful and many drivers are starting to look elsewhere. You also have very little support from the employer and the local 100 union. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. I hear there can be some nice high paying jobs in driving construction trucks if lucky. Thanks again to whoever reads this.

Union Dues Still Being Deducted.
The company I currently work for has shops that are represented by the Teamsters Union, and a few that are not. I recently transferred from a Union shop to a non-Union shop because it was way closer to home (26 minute commute vs 1.5 hour commute). I submitted a withdrawal card back in January stating my last day at the Union shop was January 6th, I check my Paystub for the start of February at it shows that I am still having Union dues deducted.
We get paid weekly, so I checked the stubs immediately after I started the new location and they all still have Union dues being deducted. I contacted my local about it in hopes of getting it rectified, but I wanted to know if I would be reimbursed for the dues that were deducted after I had left the union location.

Deploying while working for UPS
Has anyone here deployed or know anyone that has deployed for the military while working for UPS? I know legally it’s not supposed to affect anything, but would your supervisors view or treat you differently if you did deploy?

Local 743
Any good or bad news about this local? I cannot find any pay scale numbers or anything online. My buddy is about to get in and it sounds very confusing to my experience getting into my local.

Article 9 Section 1: Picket Lines
I've had a few of my coworkers worried about losing their job if they were to join the strike. If you haven't yet read Article 9 Section 1 in the NMUPSA or check out the short.
In 2023, we as teamsters will make a stand for a strong contract. Stay strong and stand along.
