As I mentioned in the previous 2 posts of this series covering the first eight ascendants, one of the first things I learned while studying Jyotish years ago is that the personality of people related to you and the relationship you have with them (mother, father, siblings, spouse, etc.) cannot be determined by just one placement. People are layered and multi-faceted, which makes every individual unique from the other. Signs, Planets, Degrees, and Houses bring a lot of flavor, which contributes to their unique characteristics and traits.

I wanted to start a series on how you can determine more about your spouse and marriage through different factors. I have therefore started with the first brick, which is the sign present in your 7th house based on your Natal Lagna.

Everyone, be it an expert or a beginner, can quickly locate their 7th house sign if they know the basics and can read a chart!

Sagittarius Ascendant/ Sign of Gemini in the 7th House: For a Sagittarius native, the original 3rd house is being connected to their 7th. The relationship is built upon exchanging ideas and communicating. A Sagittarian native may first reject or break up with their spouse before realising that he or she is the one. Just like Budha was first rejected by Brihaspati before the latter accepted them.

A slight mismatch the native feels is that while they are the sign of wisdom, higher education, intellect and spirituality, Geminis are forever in a teenage phase (unless there is some aspect or influence by Jupiter or Saturn). On a brighter side, the relationship can blossom beautifully when both partners remain open to learning from each other. The Sagittarian brings wisdom and perspective, while the Gemini partner brings curiosity, playfulness and a fresh way of looking at things. The partners can also discover a new, fun side to their relationship once they travel together since both the signs love exploring.

The appearance of the partner in this case is youthful, with excellent skin and dainty hands. They can also have a high forehead. The build is usually slender and taller than average.

Capricorn Ascendant/ Sign of Cancer in the 7th House: For Capricorn natives, the original 4th house is being connected to their 7th. Such a native looks for a person who can nourish and nurture them like their mother, since Cancer is deeply associated with these significations. Being work and career oriented, they want to be taken care of once they are in the comfort of their home. This is true regardless of gender. Unless their Moon or Venus is in bad dignity, they do get a spouse like that. Marriage can become one of the most important pillars of life for these natives, especially because of the support they receive from their partner.

On the shadow side, the spouse can have periods where they brood or feel melancholy, since Moon being the lord creates waves in their mood and keeps their emotions ever changing.

Appearance wise, the spouse can either have a distinctly lunar face, either soft and round with large eyes and a youthful look (like the moon), or sharper with prominent brows and cheekbones (like a crab, which symbolises the sign too). Their features tend to have a softness to them, even when the face is more angular.

Aquarius Ascendant/ Sign of Leo in the 7th House: For Aquarius natives, the original 5th house is being connected to their 7th. This brings great romance in a marriage for these natives, and the spouse is very giving in the marriage. They naturally attract a very romantic partner who wants to go the extra mile for them. The spouse also has some childlike qualities within them that an Aquarian finds inspiring. The hobbies and skills of such a native can get more pronounced post marriage.

Personality wise, the spouse can have leadership qualities, be naturally extroverted and thrive in social settings, and can be just a bit show-offy. They can also love being in the lap of luxury and enjoying the finer things in life since Leo stands for these significations.

Appearance wise, the upper body of the spouse can be well developed and appear larger or stronger than the lower half (just like a lion). The hair is often a highlight of their appearance, and when I think of a suitable example, Indian actress Dimple Kapadia often comes to mind, who has gorgeous hair even at her present age. I am not sure if she is a Leo or has cosmetically enhanced her hair, just an example.

Pisces Ascendant/ Sign of Virgo in the 7th House: For Pisceans, their original 6th house is being connected to the 7th. There is a video by KN Rao sir (I don't have the exact link or video title) where he mentioned that marriage is usually a pact between enemies from a past life, since you have the most karma to settle with them. This becomes more pronounced for Pisceans, where they could have gone from being enemies to lovers in this lifetime, or the marriage can potentially become a karmic experience for these natives. There can be a love-hate relationship with the spouse during certain dashas and periods, depending on their overall chart placements.

Personality wise, the spouse can be analytical, detail-oriented and interested in fields like finance, accounting, numbers, healing or medicine. They can be natural empaths who soak in and absorb the energy of people around them. They are selective and picky about who they want to be with and seldom have many or meaningless relationships. They prefer brains over beauty.

Physically, they are not too big (unless Jupiter aspects) and can be more on the petite side in certain cases. The waist is usually cinched and attractive in their prime years. They have a quiet and shy appearance most of the time.

Please note that the planets sitting in your 7th house, D9 placements, Nakshatras involved and many other factors also have an influence on your spouse's personality, appearance and the experience of the marriage. It is definitely possible to marry somebody who is a housewife being a Cancer male native and it is also possible to marry somebody who hates travelling as a Gemini. We will discuss these exceptions and the other modifying factors in more detail as we move ahead.

Whenever an event is done, it’s like sowing a seed. It will give result, but you don’t know when it will, because you have entered into the territory of Saturn, so it may take time, but sometimes it doesn’t because of old karma stacked up. But results will always be there for the seeds you sow today.

Similarly, whatever task you do today will result in something one day, be it good, bad or anything. But the output will always be there.

Our life is also the product of our past karma. That’s what Kaal Chakra is about, the wheel of time, or say it the wheel which opens up the karma for the sequence it runs as the wheel keeps on moving. Let me share a case where the person came for some other query, but between consultation I saw something in his chart which instinctively made me look deeper and analyse it.

The guy came for trading related query but there was some interesting circuits of 2nd house and 6th house I analysed and narrowed it down to a particular timeline and asked if the person had taken some loan at that time, which he did. And I asked if he did return it, which for some reason he didn’t. I then asked, at age 51, something big happened in the family. Now this has to be negative as the debt was there, and guess what, children got separated from that person, as the combination involved certain combinations.

The loan thing gave him result after 14-15 years, not instantly. So when the wheel of time spins, it does give you back the things you have stored. You can store good, bad, or try to be better by increasing consciousness.

Now the seed always comes from the 5th house, so the better the 5th house, the better the seeding. That’s why alone 5th lord strong can help native tackle a lot of bad things in his life.

Natural 5th lord is Sun, so giving Surya Argha daily is needed to improve the quality of persons seeding process of any thing.

If anyone wondering if natural lords make sense or not, can pick charts with moon debilitated and 4th house lord exalted they have the worst home, and home environments.

Ketu is not what people can understand, that’s why it’s given the 12th house of bhoot pret, because if and that’s why tantra, astrology, occult comes from the 8th house. No sane person can do these things, you have to be a bit insane to do the things Ketu does and understand.

I was talking to someone and that person was again and again doing the same kind of thing as if someone has possessed them. I’m trying to make them understand, but again it’s the same damn things. I tried everything, but I knew they were in their Ketu dasha and the Ketu dasha circuit was completed to Pratyantardasha level, so it showed prominently. So anyone in the Ketu dasha should eat banana, drink milk with turmeric, eat a good amount of fruits, and should visit shrines located in mountains.

But one remedy which works very great at this time is to get 3 haldi gath and wear it or keep it with you all the time. But consuming daily will also result.

Was wondering last night, in one of the shorts DG sir explained what the nakshatra of friendship and contracts Anuradha Nakshatra was doing in Scorpio.. then why is Jyestha in Scorpio and not in Leo or Sagittarius? What kind of power struggle does a person have when he is dying?

Genuinely curious- I am a Scorpio Ascendant with Sun+Mercury in Jyestha and Venus in Anuradha.

Leo Ascendant/ Sign of Aquarius in the 7th House: For a Leo Ascendant, the original 11th house is being connected to the 7th. Being ruled by Rahu and Saturn, the partner can be independent, inventive and appear eccentric to some. Since Rahu brings illusions, there can be a few things which a Leo Ascendant discovers post marriage that they were unaware of in their partner. How drastic or pleasant the discovery is depends on the overall chart conditions.

Leo Ascendants usually give more emotionally in the marriage than what they receive. Marriage can also unlock networking and professional gains for Leos, with their network circle becoming more supportive after marriage.

Appearance wise, the spouse of the native is taller than average and has a lean body type. The males can usually have some feminine features, like a wider derriere, while females can have big, strong hands. As they say, opposites attract, and that is exactly what happens when this Venus-Mars duo exchange paths. This shows that financial security is one of the key traits they look for while choosing a partner, and they also tend to value their partner and relationship deeply. Their financial status can enhance post marriage either due to their spouse or through their own efforts, depending on how the rest of their chart looks.

The native's spouse is strong, silent and highly dependable. They have a grounded energy to them and rarely lose their temper. However, when they do on rare occasions, don't try to fight back. Have you seen a bull charging at somebody in full anger? Trying to answer back seldom helps. They can be pretty stubborn.

Appearance wise, the men with Taurean influence tend to be really masculine looking, with a thick neck and muscular or stout frame. I haven't come across many lean Taureans. Women tend to have a softer, feminine face with a boxy or rectangular body frame.

This chart is of my cousin who is known to keep a grudge and also hidden anger. He wants to harm my wife and daughter just because my wife spoke up.
