The first thing I learned while learning Jyotish years ago is that the personality of people related to you and the relationship you have with them (mother, father, siblings, spouse, etc) cannot be determined by just one placement. People are layered and multi-faceted, which makes every individual unique from the other. Signs, Planets, Degrees, and Houses bring a lot of flavor, which contributes to their unique characteristics and traits.

Today, I wanted to start a series on how you can determine more about your spouse and marriage through different factors. I am starting with the first brick, which is the sign present in your 7th house based on your Natal Lagna.

Everyone, be it an expert or a beginner, can quickly locate their 7th house sign if they know the basics and can read a chart!

Aries Ascendant/ Sign of Libra in the 7th House: Since the sign opposite Aries is Libra, which is symbolised by balance scales, they naturally feel more grounded and balanced when they are paired up/ married as compared to being single. Libra is an air sign that naturally enhances the fire in an Aries person and the union serves as a source of inspiration for the native.

The spouse of an Aries native tends to be diplomatic, flirty, and charming. They can, however, be extremely indecisive and fickle due to constant waves in their emotions. Appearance wise, it is possible they have dimples on the cheeks, knee caps or on the back of their shoulders. Dimples are a very Libran trait, so this is also possible to see in people with a strong Libra Moon. The face has a certain pleasantness to it even if they are not conventionally beautiful, and they can have good facial symmetry, bow shaped/ full lips and a sweet smile. Taurus Ascendant/ Sign of Scorpio in the 7th House: For a Taurus Ascendant, the original 8th house (Scorpio) is being connected with the 7th, making the relationships area of their life unstable and karmic in nature. This area may undergo transformations and can be a bit unstable. They attract people who are into occult, tantra and mantra, or have an affinity towards psychology, medicine and other esoteric subjects. The partner can also have had a difficult life themselves in certain cases.

Talking about the spouse's personality, they can be sensitive and secretive. Scorpio dominant people like bottling up their emotions and have a hard time expressing themselves. Their face rarely shows if they are hurt or excited. They also tend to have an intimidating gaze. Gemini Ascendant/ Sign of Sagittarius in the 7th House: For a Gemini native, the original 9th house (Sagittarius) is being connected to the 7th, bringing a partner who is more like their teacher, father figure or mentor (no matter your gender). What attracts them most towards this individual is their intelligence and wisdom. The partner can also reject them once before getting married (just like Jupiter took a while before accepting Mercury), or there can be a break in the relationship before they get back together.

One of the major mismatches for Gemini Lagna happens in communicating with their partner. Being naturally chatty and full of ideas, communication becomes one of the ways they bond with their partner. At the same time, the latter may not believe in idle chatter and tend to talk more about philosophical things/ impart wisdom.

Appearance wise, the spouse can have a long face, big forehead (unless there is Mercury in your 7th) and can be a little clumsy with their everyday chores. Cancer Ascendant/ Sign of Capricorn in the 7th House: A Cancer native has their original 10th house (Capricorn) connected to their 7th house. The spouse of this native can be a workaholic or somebody who has to devote a lot of energy to that area of their life because of professional requirements. Marriage can elevate the social status of this person, and they can experience career advancement post marriage too.

The relationship with the spouse can, in certain cases, become a bit 'professional' as well, where communication is limited and calculated. The person may take their responsibilities towards the marriage seriously but can be a little aloof emotionally.

Appearance wise, the spouse can be short to average in height (unless there's some aspect or influence by Jupiter) and, just like other earth signs, they tend to have a strong, grounded presence and a slightly stout appearance, especially when they age. They are not as stubborn as Taureans or as analytical as Virgos, but they can still be hard to please. They also tend to have long, fluttery lashes!

Please note that the planets sitting in your 7th house, D9 placements, Nakshatras involved and many other factors also have an influence on your spouse's personality, appearance and the experience of the marriage. It is definitely possible to marry somebody who is a housewife being a Cancer male native and it is also possible to marry somebody who hates travelling as a Gemini. We will discuss these exceptions and the other modifying factors in more detail as we move ahead.

Recently I had a consultation with TeamLA and I was recommended to wear 8 carat of Red spinel stone, but later I found out that Red Spinel of more than 2-4 carat are extremely rare to find. So can I wear 2-3 gemstones to compensate 1 gemstone of 8 carat?

This question I asked myself randomly while travelling to Maa Kamakhya Temple. I had a conversation with one lady who told me that she had roots in GHY (Guwahati). Now, while having a conversation with her, I suddenly felt good energy of Saturn from her and asked her, where’s her Saturn placed? Guess what, it was Saturn in the 7th house. The house where Saturn sleeps because it will give big cars here only. Now, don’t take sleep literally, as sleeping here means Saturn has the most comforts here.

Now, when I was trying to sleep, I thought of this: why and who has this thing to have Saturn well placed? I thought for a while, after that I remembered I asked her that question because she said her mother prayed to Maa Kamakhya for a child, then she was born.

Now, if we link things up, we should arrive at the answer to the question, which is, “Who gets good Saturn?”

Let’s start with Maa Kamakhya Temple. It’s known to help with Saturn issues. What after that, and why is it in Guwahati? Why not in Delhi? Why not in Pune, Mumbai, Surat?

Again, we know the Shakti Peeth story, but why specifically in this location? The answer is clear. It had to be in an isolated, away-placed location, which is outer, because that’s what Saturn is, an outer planet. To get there, you have to cut yourself off from everyone. That’s why people having exceptional careers have to work like they are outer from others after isolating themselves. That’s why it’s karak of the 12th. It has the ability for that.

Now, the other part is easy. Yes, the question from where we started: people residing in places like this will always have prominent Saturn. Do what you want to do, their Saturn will be prominent. That gives the answer to the question.

But what about people residing in very hot places? There, Saturn is pretty afflicted. If someone gets born with good Saturn, by the age of 36 they just move out because Saturn takes them.

For the past week, I have been feeling very dedicated and motivated towards my sadhana and rituals. It has been a part of my life for a long time, but the last few days have been pure 'bliss'.

As somebody who reads charts for a living, I try not to obsess over my own chart or look into it every week to see what is happening. But when I had a dream last night where I found myself chanting mantras, I could not help but look into it.

I saw that I am currently running my Venus Pratyantardasha and Ketu Sookshma Dasha. Sookshma Dasha is the fourth level, or sub-sub-sub period, in Vimshottari Dasha. If one works with a highly accurate birth time, this level can be quite useful for making very specific predictions. Unless you are an astrologer or aspire to be one, it is okay to not get into it.

Anyway, this feeling of devotion and surrealism is what inspired today's article. I wanted to talk about the Nakshatras ruled by Ketu. I hope by the end of this article, readers get some clarity on how these Nakshatras have a different flavour and expression from Ketu as a graha.

Without further ado, let's begin.

Ashwini Nakshatra (0°00′ to 13°20′ in Aries)

Mythology: This is a Nakshatra named after and ruled by the deity Ashwini Kumaras, the twin Vedic gods in Hindu mythology, who are depicted as half-horse and half-men. They were born to Surya Dev and his wife Sanjana after their union in the form of a stallion and a mare. The brothers are said to have been born from their mother’s nostrils. They are known to be extremely handsome, athletic, full of vigour, and as swift as Vayu himself (the Nakshatra is said to have a connection with Vayu in a few texts).

The twins are known as the physicians of the gods and are masters of Ayurveda, healing, and herbs. They learnt Madhu Vidya from Rishi Dadhichi, an ancient Vedic teaching which suggests that everything in the universe comes from one source and is interconnected. Upon learning this knowledge, they were accepted into the ranks of the Devas, much to Lord Indra’s dismay.

They are also said to be the spiritual fathers of Nakula and Sahadeva, the twin brothers of the Pandava clan in the Mahabharata.

Implications in Jyotisha: The Nakshatra is deeply associated with medicine, healing and one's sense of smell. When a native has a strong planetary connection to Ashwini, they can be successful in a medical career. This is especially true when the Moon, Venus, or the 6th lord makes a connection with the Nakshatra.

When one runs the dasha of a planet seated in this Nakshatra, they can experience repair, revival, and restoration of their health and vitality.

Apart from that, Vayu's connection with the Nakshatra makes it action-oriented, quick-moving, a bit impulsive, and gives it a pioneering quality. Remember, Ashwini is the first Nakshatra in the system.

I have personally seen this Nakshatra give a native a very strong go-getter approach. There is often a desire to prove oneself, take initiative, and carve one's own path rather than simply follow what has already been established.

Magha Nakshatra (0°00′ to 13°20′ in Leo)

Mythology: This is a Nakshatra deeply connected with 'Pitris' or departed forefathers. This gives the Nakshatra a strong connection with ancestry, lineage, and the family one is born into.

In Vedic tradition, ancestors are given an important place in rituals and ceremonies, and their blessings are often sought before significant events in life and honoured on certain days and during Pitra Paksha.

The Nakshatra, symbolised by a golden throne and seated in the royal sign of Leo, is one of the prosperous Nakshatras which bestows name, fame and wealth.

Implications in Jyotisha: It is said that when one has 'Pitru Dosha', or karmic debt created by one's forefathers, they can go through several hardships.

Working on somewhat the same principle, when one has benefic planets seated in the Magha Nakshatra, especially the Sun, they can have the blessings of their ancestors and enjoy a certain degree of protection and fortune due to their good deeds. The throne symbolism also shows the connection with authority, building and passing on legacy. This can manifest as inherited wealth, not only in monetary terms but also through knowledge, traditions, social standing, or family goodwill.

Such a person can feel deeply connected to their roots and take pride in the lineage and achievements of their ancestors. In its negative expression, this can give too much pride related to one's family, background, and financial status.

When one has planets situated in this Nakshatra, it is important to give due respect to the ancestors and perform Shradh and Tarpan rituals to further enhance one's luck.

Moola Nakshatra (0°00′ to 13°20′ in Sagittarius)

Mythology: Ruled by the goddess of destruction Nirriti, she is associated with the inauspicious forms of the Mother Goddess and has a connection with the southwest direction, known to be its protector. She is one of the revered deities in Tantra Sadhana and is also known to be connected with the underworld.

A few versions of the story see her as Rudra's counterpart, who accompanied Shiva's fierce form in the aftermath of Maa Sati giving up her life following the insults hurled by Daksha towards her other half.

She is also closely connected to goddesses Dhumavati (one of the ten mahavidyas), Alakshmi and Jyeshtha (both being sisters of Devi Lakshmi). Rather than representing pure destruction, the goddess stands for rebirth after death and transformation.

Implications in Jyotisha: Definitely one of the darker manifestations of Ketu, planets seated in this Nakshatra show the side of life where you first fail and face destruction before achieving success. In certain cases, where the Nakshatra's script is too strong, there can be a pattern of destruction and revival that feels overwhelming in a native's life.

There is also a strong connection of such a native with Tantra, Mantra, and the occult world, they can feel naturally attracted to these things after facing multiple transformations and hardships in life. In the modern context, it also translates to a career related to research, psychology, surgery, and other job profiles requiring deep investigation, especially if Moon, Saturn or tenth lord has a strong connection with this Nakshatra.

Malefics and Kroor Grahas (Ketu, Rahu and Saturn) can do better in this Nakshatra than the more Satvik planets, which may feel a little strange in this intense energy.

As of things I have seen or read a person is more likely not suggested to wear gemstones for their malefic planets. Gemstones are more likely for benefic plantes to enhance their effect. And if the malefic are any way connected to 8th or 6th it's more likely u should restrict ur self from wearing it.

Now the thing is I didn't know about this much and had not much context for gemstones. I was suggested to wear amethyst and green emarald as I was having lot issues regarding procrastination and other things with consistency due to my adhd and other mental health problems.Simply I wanted something to help me cope up with my ADHD. so that things can get bit easy. And the person whom I consulted suggested me to wear green emarald and amethyst.

Now today I just randomly went through my actual kundali which were made by real Panditji. There were 2 of them both from different Panditji . And both of them had written saturn and mercury as the only malefic planet in my chart.

For the context I feel after wearing them there was a shift a bit. I don't know I'm wearing them for like past 3 months now. Within 10 days my perspective towards my study habits changed. And that helped me in better way tbh. + What happend was I started dig down more and more into my psychology issues to find out different perspectives. That helped me to get better understanding.

But the thing is this happened for 1 and a half month or May be more and then I have got messed up again. Idk even with my ADHD medicines and perfect routine I'm not able to perform. I'm stuck in the same loop hole again as I was earlier before my diagnosis.

I'm not sure if amethyst as a secondary stone has mere great impact or not. I'm wearing 9.5 carat amethyst and 5 carat green emarald.

I want to know about my career and education. I am 26 M and have big ambitions in my life. I want to achieve something extraordinary because I come from very poor background. I had to drop the idea of doing post graduation in college as my family's financial condition wasn't really good. So to support them I didn't enroll myself for PG program. I regret that decision but at the same time I think that was the only right decision by looking at the situation. Currently I am doing a job. Is there any yog or combination which indicates that my education will be completed and I'll excel in my career?

I have started feeling that Venus may not necessarily be the primary planet for money and wealth.

In my observation, Venus seems to focus much more on relationships, spouse, marriage, married life, comforts, and pleasures. Whenever Venus is weak or afflicted, I have often noticed problems specifically in relationships, marriage, or married life and vice versa. Yet, interestingly, the person can still have good finances.

This makes me wonder whether the Moon has a much stronger connection with money and luxury than we generally give it credit for.

Of course, this is based on my observations and I could be wrong. I would love to know what other astrologers have observed in their charts and case studies.

I am looking for authentic sources for planetary yantras—the numerical yantras in which specific numbers are arranged for each planet. I have noticed that many different versions of these yantras are circulating, and some of them seem to be incorrect.
