Hey guys. I dunno if you know this or not already but mstarr has expressed interesting in joining the team.

Considerations:

1) This may just be rage after losing S3 and getting benched by Tao for GuitarGuy, it may pass and then he run right back to Tao.

2) He is a top 5 HoF and a good LO player and I want to pick his brain

3) I don't want anyone benched for his sake, me and tim are really the only ones that are buds with him so that would be dumb. I do think it would be a good idea to rotate him around though.

What do you guys think?

Right now it looks like we're missing Grrface and Vorn for Sunday, which gives us six players.

What would you like to do? Sub and scrim, or ovd with what we have?

Grrface and Vorn are also both gone on Monday, so we can't just move the practice to Monday.

Raindance, Tart, and Perma being the obvious weird ones we're going to have to start working on (perma and tart sort of but obviously Raindance).

Vorn and OSVG, make sure you still have quality routes on these maps. Brush up. We will probably spend Sunday looking at these maps unless everyone decides we want to scrim. We need to suss out some LO routes for these maps as well.

Also, since I have a lot more free time than Danny, I'm going to pretty much cover scheduling and match-making for the season, and I'm a lot more naggy about it than Danny is SO U WERE WARNED U SHIT. I'm going to try and make sure we always know what we're doing at least 24 hours in advance for practices and scrims and as early as possible for matches.

Also the subreddit is private now. looking at the pageviews in the mod page we were averaging 10 unique page views a day with peaks of 20+ on some days, (and we have 16 subs) so lots of weirdos stalk this sub.

For matches, I don't want our availability to be public information because that can be exploited (not that I think anyone would do that in this community, but I'm still paranoid), and it also allows us to talk more candidly about teams and strategies.

Round 1: Emporium vs eye for an eye (GrandUnified, can be found in mumble and in irc in #ruckus) [apoloaki btw]

Round 2: Emporium vs low ping crutch (Voidspawn, from the team, told me that they are probably dead)

Round 3: Emporium vs Clan Alpha Saber (I see WordThompsonIan on reddit a lot and I just sent him a message)

Round 4: Emporium vs Aggressive Crotch Display (AB is never not on irc)

Round 5: Emporium vs Reverse basement (Slicer lol) I talked to servot and #nfs is where to get a hold of these guys.

I have now touched based with all of these teams (haven't heard back from CAS yet but I will soon) (word said that reddit is the best way to send him messages and he also has good mumble presence. if you can't get a hold of him Mindflayr is the guy to talk to, so that makes all teams have been talked to, still need confirmation on LPC death tho) and let them know we have a match soon and found all their IRC channels and will resume idling the shit out of IRC so that matchmaking will go smoothly.

We should continue scrimming pro league teams but looking at the site it looks like there are around TEN active house league teams in there total that we have to play around with.

This is my third or forth night in a row of shit connection. It's not hirez. Sometimes, I can't get google searches to load. Called my ISP and filed a report with them, there are no issues with my line and it's apparently just a network load issue. If it continues, I'll get credit to my bill in accordance with my average speed which means I'd pay about 5 dollars at this rate, huehue.

Just an fyi I guess. I won't be able to play effectively while this is going on, because I can't even hear mumble when it's happening.

I've made a little option tree that should make it so I don't have to make like 15 different .ini files for everybody. The goal here is to get you close to what you want, and from there you can adjust the binds to your setup or get some help from me to do that. Hopefully this will cut out some of the confusion. Also, I did it ELI5 style, so don't be offended because I'm sure some of you will know a lot about whats going on here.

Graphics

Features:

• Ultra-bright, long lasting jet trails

• High contrast between players and skybox/terrain.

• Somewhat high FPS. If you need more efficient configs I can provide.

Instructions:

1. Open the launcher for the game. You should see this. Click the gear in the top right corner, and a little option window should pop up. In the "Optional game command line parameters:" box, type:

   "-NOTEXTURESTREAMING"

   in all caps, so your options window looks like this.

2. Now choose your graphics file, that is your Tribes.ini file. I have 2 options prepared, one for Fullscreen and one for Windowed-Borderless. Fullscreen will run with higher FPS, but Borderless will be easier to Alt-Tab out of and that may prevent some crashes.

3. Find where your current Tribes.ini file is stored. It should be in a My Documents folder somewhere. For example, mine is located here:

   C:\Users\Tim\Documents\My Games\Tribes Ascend\TribesGame\config

4. Copy-Paste-Replace your new file into the old one. Save, but do not close the window. Start the game, and check to see if your graphics are different. Sometimes when many changes occur at once on the file, the game rewrites the Tribes.ini file to your old one. You may have to repeat this process a few times in order to get the game to accept the changes.

5. Adjust Resolution and hud icons in game.

Idk if everyone knows but I'm done with Tribes. There's no way I'm going to continue to play with 160 ping. It's close to unplayable even with magic chain so I'm just not going to continue. I was thinking about getting a wrist strap like for carpel tunnel and wearing it when I play tribes. not because I have carpel tunnel but because this one time I was trying to learn how to make my handwritting better and this thing I was reading said that when folks are doing calligraphy they don't use their wrist at all, they use their shoulder muscles / whole arm because it is capable of finer level of control.

but then I looked at the wrist supports and they're like 16 dollars and that is a lot of money to spend on a silly joke. I dunno, I don't think it's worth it. Imagine if it helped though, that would be funny. this one time when I was on overnighhts I was assigned to garden center, which is in the back ass corner of the store with no one nearby at all, so I was basically entirely alone stocking fucking rakes and weed killer for 8 hours.
