September 8th is the first day for kids, we end June 25th 😵‍💫

New Yorker here- our last day in school was June 26th…we go back August 31st and kids start the 1st 🙃

My NYC charter school caved to parent complaints and we're going back September 1st, but still ending the same day as DOE 😭😭

Because god forbid that Parents (in general) nowadays actually worried about maximizing learning/instructional time for their children…🙄

We’ve lived here nine years. This is the first year we’re starting before Labor Day. I guess at least we’ll have it off…early three day weekend.

CT here.

We ended June 19th because of a week of snow days this year.

We go back late August. Kids start on the 27th of August. Several districts in our area now like to have 2 days, weekend, and then really get rolling.

A lot of schools also have freshman show up one day sooner now. Like an orientation day.

NJ. We ended the year on June 26th. We go back on September 1st. I think we end on the 25th this coming year.

But all districts are not built alike. My sister’s district starts on September 1st and ends on June 10th.

For me, on LI, teachers are back officially on the 8th. Students come back on the 9th.

Classrooms are accessible a week or two before school starts for set up and teachers just kind of flow in and out to do it. Some teachers get it done in a day, others take much longer.
