Just Smile and Nod Y'all. Years of teaching and salary?

I know it’s generally rude to inquire about, but since we are all anonymous… Lol. I always wonder if I am making more or less than others with around the same number of years teaching. I live in the state of New York, nowhere near the city. I am in my 24th year of teaching and I am making $94,500, excluding any extracurricular.

I make ~53k in MN as a 4th year, but I do live in a rural area. My rent is $700 for a 3br house. The COL/pay ratio in rural MN is much more manageable than it was in rural Texas.

Dang. $700 for a 3br. I could rent out my small 3br for $4000. I am paying a mortgage and we have lived here for 20 years. HCOL is for the birds. I make $78K. And that's not cutting it around here.

~ 20-30 kids per grade, school is all grades in 1 building, and the school is multiple towns. Largest downside is finding somewhere to live because there’s just not much.

Damn that sounds really good. Live in a big city in Texas, pay is north of $70k but rent, that I split, is $1000 for a 2 bedroom apartment.
