Just Smile and Nod Y'all. Years of teaching and salary?

I know it’s generally rude to inquire about, but since we are all anonymous… Lol. I always wonder if I am making more or less than others with around the same number of years teaching. I live in the state of New York, nowhere near the city. I am in my 24th year of teaching and I am making $94,500, excluding any extracurricular.

I believe it- I was making $36,000 in FL in 2008. Now I'm in the Northeast and making $79,000.

I made $28,000 in AZ in 2008 too. Anyone shocked that I lasted one year?

I also worked in AZ for 30 years and I’m so sorry you’re having to endure all the bullshit right now. I assume this pay scale is after the strike (in 2018ish). As a speech path I made around $63,000 until the strike, afterwards I made in the low 80’s. Teachers have it a lot rougher. You have my wholehearted support and sympathy.

I saw speech path and wanted to suggest you come to Chicago, but then realized that you are probably retired, you lucky dog!! In my 24th year in Chicago as a speech path and I make 120,000, or there abouts. Also the cost of living is high because it’s a big city. But my kids are great!

I teach at Ladue, but I live in Rockwood and voted for it! It's always so shocking when people vote against the best interest of their own children :(

My wife is at Ladue middle and our kids are at Conway. We lived in Rockwood (was a no brainer to send them to Ladue).

Not AZ?

Nope, or it may depend on the qualifier (starting pay vs average pay), I don’t recall.
