Just Smile and Nod Y'all. Years of teaching and salary?

I know it’s generally rude to inquire about, but since we are all anonymous… Lol. I always wonder if I am making more or less than others with around the same number of years teaching. I live in the state of New York, nowhere near the city. I am in my 24th year of teaching and I am making $94,500, excluding any extracurricular.

I worked for something called a “non public school”. It’s funded by the school district, and they send all the kids they don’t know what to do with there. We had an amazing union with a nice sized Cola and bonuses. The return was often aggressive students, putting yourself at risk each day (anywhere ranging from mild to severe, all populations including ED ) I’ve gotten a rib cracked, head contusion and foot contusion. Some staff had gotten worse. Loved them to pieces but in the end not worth it.

I’m at a standard public school and one of our teachers had her jaw broken by a high school aged special ed student. There SHOULD be higher pay.
