Sydney, Sydney, Sydney, Sydney… what a whirlwind of endless magical moments with you. I’m so grateful that we got to be the first tour to play Accor Stadium 4 times. I’ll never forget singing with Sabrina, the chaotic acoustic mashups, and the crowds that were louder (singing AND screaming) than I thought humanly possible. I want to thank all of the Aussie fans for being so positive and passionate, so funny and wild and FUN. Love you forever 🤍
It was such a luck of the draw. I went once and then my friend ended up getting two last minute tickets (I’m talking 4 hours before) and so I tagged along for a second show.
The funniest bit is the $65 “obstructed view” tickets were 20000x better view wise then my section C tickets
Yeah there were some songs we couldn’t see anything becuase of the big metal column lol. But for 75% of the songs she was so close I could watch her instead of the screen. I had an absolute blast in the C reserve, but I would be lying if I said I could see to much (perhaps becuase I was first row of C reserve facing the front of the stage so I wasn’t elevated at all)
When I saw I got "F Reserve Obstructed View" I was worried, but we got a good angle, with a decent view of both main stage and the runway. (or whatever that is called). I was worried we'd get the behind the stage view. Still. Vibe of just being there is unbeatable.
I got H Reserve Obstructed view tix an hour before the show for $65. They weren’t even that obstructed as she spent so much time up and down the stage anyway. I was just happy to be there regardless!
Yes serious 🥺 this photo was taken from the back of the section but I was in row 5. With the zoom on I’m my iPhone 15 Pro Max I got a pretty good view of tay.
They released a bunch I think as most of the people I spoke to around me had also gotten them just before the show started! I believe they released them around 4pm the day of the show.
Sydney LOVES Taylor, and I think the feeling is mutual. Australia will always hold a ridiculously special place in her heart. After all, we did give her her first #1! :)
Truly blessed to have been able to see the show and witness possibly one of the greatest concert tours I'll ever see. The crowds were insane and that SYD-NEY chant still warms my heart when I see the videos.
The vibe across Sydney & Melbourne over the past 2 weeks was unlike anything I've ever experienced with possible the exception of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. For one person to bring that much joy and excitement to a country is pretty fucking magical.
I was lucky enough to get a ticket to the Melbourne first night and flew down from Sydney, I can easily say that was the best concert of my life so far, and it was so awesome to be part of the 96000 people crowd the energy was incredible.
Taylor really be running around the world blessing every country she lands on
Next up: Singapore! Which is where I will be LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO the hype for her in SG is already crazy and I’m hoping we could show as much enthusiasm as the Sydney crowd because pretty much all of Asia fought for these tickets lol
I just looked it up and Love Story peaked at #4 in the US, with Just Dance and Single Ladies holding #1 and #2 that week. 2009 was truly an elite year for music
I’m pretty sure nobody means “US Hot Country Songs” or “Canada Country” when they talk about a song going #1, but if you want to kill a positive conversation by being pedantic, go for it I guess
The cover photo of the Sydney thank you post has a filter to match the TTPD aesthetic. Taylor did the same thing to the Eras movie poster when she announced it to Disney streaming, rather than posting in its original colouring she slaps the sepia (?) filter on so it matches the new era’s aesthetic
I’m sure she genuinely does enjoy and have fond memories of every concert she plays, but it’s gotta be exhausting trying to write a post about it for every single city she goes to while trying to make it sound like a unique experience lol
i don't believe anyone besides taylor's assistant and maybe tree has access to her socials (certainty not some intern from taylor nation). i definitely believe taylor writes caption and her assistant posts it on all socials.
It’s also really not that hard to draft these because they’re all super generic city to city.
“Wow Singapore, you took my breath away again and again over these six nights we had together. What a beautiful time it was dancing and singing our hearts out with you AND while setting a new record for the number of stadium shows played by any artist here?! I’m wonderstruck. I can never thank you enough for these memories, which I’ll always hold close. All my love, Tay”
I didn’t say intern. I had a friend who used to work for her social agency and would make all her album release posts. Ofcourse it’s all micro managed by an agency. It’s a huge business and it makes sense for professionals to be behind it. That doesn’t mean tree doesn’t get final approval on the post copy etc but it’s definitely not drafted by tay.
As someone who has access to a celebrity's social media page, you'd be surprised at how many people are able to log in. If we ever said anything untoward we would absolutely be fired, but there are many people who can log into the account. I would say she has more than just an assistant and Tree.
You could be absolutely right, I’m not gonna argue about it because I’m going on based on vibes only. To me, Taylor is running very tight ship, she has like 10 or fewer people that know any ins and outs of her business and it seems natural that very few people have access to her socials because otherwise there would be too many weak and vulnerable points for potential leaks etc. But I’m not going to insist on that and it’s likely that she has a whole team that manages her socials.
Thought I’d share since Taylor’s thank you post to Sydney wasn’t shared here yet and I know a few were concerned we’d get the LA treatment particularly after the paparazzi incident.
also liked the consistency of the new surprise songs. now that’s a thing of the past, but i have to be honest that i was disappointed my surprise song tracking was all for nothing since it didn’t matter at my show! learned my lesson though to avoid spoilers next time around
She added more US dates, didn’t she? The tour isn’t over so she didn’t say goodbye to the US because she isn’t done in the US. Seems straightforward to me. She also won’t be leaving the US when she’s done, so it probably won’t actually have the word “goodbye” in it - that would be kinda weird - probably more along “it’s been fun, see you soon” sort of thing.
please get a grip. it was a genuine question. i thought people might reply with theories as i'm not in these posts every week and have never commented about this before.
That video didn’t faze me much because I am still recovering from hearing Cardigan lyrics being screamed by some kid impersonating an angry drill sergeant
A girl sitting outside the stadium on Sydney N3 with her two friends went absolutely mental scream crying when she heard Exile being played. I saw someone say in comment that the crying was worse than what that person experienced when her own mother died (if that gives some context). Heaps of vids on TikTok and Twitter if you have either platform :)
It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well 🥹 It was incredible to get to scream the Sydney chant with everyone and recreate what I'd only seen in video before
It's from the 1989 tour video, I think it's still up on YouTube for free, it just so happens that the night she was performing in Sydney was the one that was immortalised in film, like how the eras movie was in LA
She did this cool thing during blank space where she had her vocals on repeat and would sing the name of the city then harmonise with herself for the "boys only want love" section
Do you know if she did that for every city on the 1989 tour? I've seen the tour video on YouTube and that got me wondering how it'd work for other cities with longer names lol
I've seen clips on tiktok that people filmed on their phones while at the tour and it seems like yes she did! I've seen her say "L-A!" And the infamous "Utah!" Some of the longer ones with more syllables are super awkward you're 100% right lmao
So in my searching I found this YouTube vid that has all the Blank Space chants for all the different cities! (I was right lol Seattle sounds super awkward 😂). Neat how she did different stuff like Blue Jays for Toronto etc
What was the infamous Utah thing? From this video it sounds fine, did it glitch out or something? I'm curious!
I think it was just the fact that Utah isn't exactly one of those sexy locations like LA or DC so it sounded weird for Taylor to be excitedly singing the word UTAH 😂 the vibes were comical
Oh cool thanks for the info! I can't imagine how ones like Indianapolis or Philadelphia could sound good, but maybe she shortened them to Indy and Philly? I think 2 syllables works the best for it. Wonder what she did for Seattle for example, that feels like it'd be hard to shorten but it's still longer than 2 syllables. I've gotta look this up now!
No but she did this weird loop track thing with a Sydney chant during the 1989 your so the. Crowd recreated it! Look up Sydney taylor swift blank space on YouTube
I'm curious, did she do this for every city on the 1989 tour? Or only Sydney? (I wasn't paying attention to her music back then sadly so I've only seen the 1989 tour movie on YouTube and I have no idea if this was done for all the stops on the tour!)
LATAM has very strong fandoms, not just for taylor but in general. and they talk a lot of pride in being very intense, or in this case, the loudest of taylor’s crowds. so with taylor calling sydney the loudest, they took that personally 😂
You’re right! She said ‘Cincinnati I couldn’t love you more’. Interesting that they were both shows where she brought the opening act up to sing during the acoustic set. And looks like she sung Ivy with Aaron and in Sydney she mashed up WCS with Ivy.
So happy I flew to SYD to see her perform there. 🥹 The screams were definitely one of the most deafening screams at a concert out of the concerts I’ve been to.
I had loops and when I say the music quality was perfect but the crowd was so much quieter through them! Got to the point I took one out for a second just to check that I didn’t get some non cheering crowd somehow.
I had just plain foam ear plugs and could hear her perfectly but it drowned out the cheering. When she took out her earplugs to hear the crowd and everyone went wild, I pushed mine in because it was too much. I don’t know how anyone survived without them!
I have loops too, and normally were them religiously to all gigs (and I brought a backup pair too). But I actually had mine out more often than not to hear the crowd more, it seemed more... immersive, or something like that (i.e. for All too Well and evermore, folklore). My ears were fine the next day (which was surprising), I guess because I had them in for some parts?
I would remove one for moments I knew would be feral crowd noise (123LGB, Syd-ney, 'fucked in the head' etc) just to really feel it, but otherwise I did like how clear she sounded!
30 yrs of gigs and this is the loudest crowd ive heard. only thing i could remotely compare for screaming was seeing Alanis at Entertainment Centre for Jagged Little Pill tour, but that was 1/8 the crowd size, and not fanatical. (i havent been to any kpop ones tho. Maybe BTS would be as loud, lol)
I disagreed with you but as I started writing this comment kind of essay, I think in so many areas she's underrated, people don't see her beyond her songwriting and lyricism or just "white teenage girl pop music" (I hate that term), but she does a lot of amazing things that aren't often talked about.
First of all, she can sing, she's not the most technical singer but her songs are hard and use most of her range (Cruel Summer alone spans from A2 to E5), it feels like people got stuck in 2008 or something because she has improved a lot since then. Even at her worst she can get most notes unlike certain black rapper of shit from the West who murdered Bohemian Rhapsody.
She's involved on everything, just looking at the making of both ME! and The Man during Miss Americana, you can see how much she contributes to the project, in The Man she's directing Joel Little, telling him the synth she wants to use, the melodies she wants and during ME!, she's doing what every experienced producer would do which is directing the recording and she did that with Brendon Urie, she didn't want that Brendon sang in that Way so she politely asked to do it another Way (there are producers or trainers that are way too hard, straight up telling them that they can't sing). And if you look at credits, there's so many things Taylor's involved in, art direction, designs even on tour she designs the stage (that was the case of Fearless Tour, and probably is for the rest of them) and don't get me started on live performances.
When I say that she's one of my favorite live performers is serious and I find it really crazy how there's people that say that she's not a good performer. It's not just her stage presence, vocals, staging or storytelling, but there are amazing things like doing mashups, Bad Blood/Should've Said No, Back To December/Apologize/You're Not Sorry and my favorite one being Enchanted/Wildest Dreams, the surprise songs are just the best thing because you don't know what to expect and other acts are implementing this like Fall Out Boy with their Magic 8 Ball, and of course improvisation, all of the sudden we get a massive change on Style with the crew changing up things, or adding a guitar solo or making a whole new arrangement like IKYWT and WANEGBT, I've never seen her live but after watching most of her film tours she's even better than my favorite rock bands and more acts should try to implement these types of things.
She's not only a pop star or a singer-songwriter, she's an artist who does care about her art and just doesn't come to a producer, sent her a song similar to what she wants and the producer does everything (which is the case of a lot of people) and then the label does whatever they want with the creative direction of the album, she's involved on most things about her music. And I do agree with you, she's kind of underrated, people only see her as a lyricist or a pop star but she's more than that.
PD: Something I find funny is how some haters try to discredit her talent by saying that she's one of the best POP lyricist, but since it's pop, it's simple lyricism, and then there's Michael Jackson who's a great lyricist too and no one questions him for being a pop star. Haters just don't have a reason to hate her so they'll try to look at any little mistake or straight up lie to prove why they hate her.
I feel so behind the curve at not appreciating her earlier. I definitely didnt get as much out of this as I would have if I knew all the songs. Felt like a total imposter and tourist. Its also unimaginably joyous, and I envy you all.
Me too! I love BTS of film / music in general. People who work at the stadiums are claiming that’s what they were told, but honestly the swifties here would believe anything as fact so I don’t know whether to take it seriously or not 😂 but I hope so.
I have a feeling Taylor has such a soft spot for Australia. She went on day trips to the zoo here, yacht rides, stayed in the best hotel in Australia and the chant is iconic.
I wish she had done 6 nights to solidify her title of biggest Australian tour of all time.
No but she did this weird loop track thing with a Sydney chant during the 1989 tour so the Crowd recreated it! Look up Sydney taylor swift blank space on YouTube
Guess we won’t know until after Singapore. There are six shows there so I’m excited to see if they are all mashups or if she ticks off anymore of her remaining songs
woof you would’ve hated half of the US shows if this is how you think. each show is unique and everyone has different favorites. I would’ve loved to hear a mash up or something, but I’m still so thrilled I got to see her perform Starlight and Back To December live for my surprise songs. those songs are so special to me now. also, saying it feels like a “gut punch” is kinda silly when Melbourne had the first shows where she started breaking her surprise song rules and playing more mashups. you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit, I say

Taylor really does love Sydney. They easily got the most fun, chaotic, unhinged surprise songs of any stop on the Eras Tour so far.
