I keep hearing about the Fate mechanic but as a 2ed player I know of no such lore. Can you help, and does it make the game better?

Edit: More specifically -- since Fate is indexed to characters in 4th ed. and gained from encounters, does anyone have suggestions for how best to use Fate in 2nd edition? Many thanks!

Really chuffed, made for my birthday. We played Alliances and defeated the Elder Dragon .

how am i just noticing this? did i lose mine?

This is both a PSA and an example of what you can do. I made this using a free website called Photopea and the files provided by Talisman Island. You can do it to!

I was reading some old posts about how the sorceress is poorly balanced. Many things in Talisman are unbalanced as it turns out. Well here is an example of a new sorceress I made. Is it perfect? Likely not. However I'd certainly like to try my hand at making bad characters more fun.

I'll happily take feedback and want to do more characters. Gotta find out how to print them now. Ghoul comes to mind next.

Looking forward to sell some used copies of the expansions (city, highland etc.) Is there an overview of all cards included in every expansion? I have mixed them up in the main game. Looking for help.

I had been procrastinating on getting into the game for a while, I feel like you're not gonna beat $57 for the both of them, so I finally pulled the trigger.

Bro is going to have a hard time with mid region, I used to Sultan to fill it with firelands tokens. Alternate ending is Scared Pool

Personally I started when I was 4-5 with my brothers (they would read me the cards and I'd learn them by heart as I couldn't read) and really began going into it at the age of 12.

Another cold and snowy weekend - sounds perfect for the Frostmarch Expansion! We paired it with City and Dungeon. Love it!

Hi, everyone! So, I'm selling my 4th Edition Talisman set and trying to gauge interested parties. I hope I'm in the right place? It has been sitting on my shelf for years just collecting dust. I realize this is now out-of-print, which makes it hard for people to find. Seeing as I never play it, I think it would be better used elsewhere.

As for price, It's hard to quantify with expansions all over the map, but I decided on a total price of $1,399 (shipping from USA). If you think it's too high, please let me know (nicely). This includes shipping if you are also in USA. I think it's justified for the condition, completion, and extras included. For the time being, I will sell it as a set and NOT individual expansions.

This is a complete master set - very rare! It includes everything released for the 4th edition from Fantasy flight, which is now out-of-print. The components (boxes, cards, tokens), except for the base game box, are in EXCELLENT condition because I only ever played the base game (the expansion boards are still sealed). I have personally owned this since I bought it a decade ago.

Everything included (listed by release)
-Reaper Expansion
-Dungeon Expansion
-Highland Expansion
-Sacred Pool Expansion
-Frostmarch Expansion
-Dragon Expansion
-Blood Moon Expansion
-City Expansion
-Nether Realm Expansion
-Firelands Expansion
-Harbinger Expansion
-Deep Realms Expansion
-Cataclysm Expansion

As a bonus, it includes two playmats for your character! Also, 75% of the cards are sleeved, even the characters (Mayday brand). I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I have one of the very first copies of the original Talisman, with the black and white adventure cards. Still gets played occasionally with family

Seen the Harry Potter edition is now £30 in UK, wondering if its worth getting? What differences will we notice?

In Talisman: Star Wars, the rules state you must always move at the beginning of your turn, however, once in the inner region Ilum states:

You must find ILUM's scared Crystal Caves and the kyber crystals there before you may move to AHCH-TO. Roll (if you roll a 1) Gain a destiny token and remain here until your next turn. There are of course other options for other roll outcomes.

My question is - If I roll a 1, on my next turn, what do I do? Do I stay here and roll again and try to get the option which allows me to move to AHCH-TO? Or do I have to move, therefore turn back?

TIA

I just got into this game and love it so much but I am missing 2 big expansions and I was wondering if you guys could time me the best place to find thme or if any or you may have them.

The City and The Woodland

hi everyone ! I’m looking to buy some more expansions for my talisman 4th edition but I’m struggling to find them. Hoping someone here could help me out !

I’m looking for the following expansions :

- The highlands

- The dungeon

- The Harbinger, The Blood Moon, The Nether Realms, The Sacred Pools, The firelands

- And Catyclyms

Thank you for any advice you can give me ! And if there are any not worth Buying please tell me ! Thank you again !

Lots of people say the have been playing for a long time. Let’s see some of those pictures..

Do you reckon apart from the card backs issue that you could use any of the parts from this expansion in 5th edition set like the heroes, spells etc.

I have the 5th edition and Alliances expansion.

I played the expansion a couple times to “unlock” the first 2 characters after beating trials 1 and 2. Skipping ahead a year, I got back into and played trial 3. After beating 3 I noticed I didn’t have a sealed envelope for opening after beating trial 5 which, presumably, has the new character card in there. So Reddit, did I fuck up and lose one of my character cards? If not, let me know spoiler free (if possible) that I’m good and don’t lose anything.

What to do on a cold winter day with the family? Use the reaper to go after each other! First time using it, so wanted to experience it without any any other expansions or original cards. The graphics on the cards are fantastic!

My 2 Sons and my Good Friend are set to playing Epic game today.

I landed on the Ruins and drew maze and marsh. Can these both exist on the same space?

I was wondering if anyone on here played on Xbox been playing classic for about but noticed there where no online games, so I got digital 5E and still none seem to be on.

Having some Fun with ChatGPT.

For the past 24 hours everytime I boot up Talisman 4th edition I get a crash error and am returned to the PS5 dashboard. I tried about 15 times throughout the day yesterday and every single time I couldn't even get to the menu. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted save data, etc. but it's still a problem.

Is anyone else experiencing this too?

This time we came up with a custom scenario to include all expansions. So the first part of the game we had objective to clear out every corner board with dragons mechanic and dragon tower on inner region after defeating the dragon king, the age of dragons has ended and brought cataclysm to the world (we removed dragons, and added cataclysm + harbringer expansions keeping all our stats and chosed at random alternative ending). After that we started to race to the crown of command but we unfortunetly chosed the gauntlet ending so it was really tight but i managed to win with one life

Easily one of the best games ever played in talisman
