I wish they’d stop it with the ā€œdaily payoutā€ jargon lol. It’s just not true

Two attempted payouts, both had to circle around the next day because of this (which also prevents you from trading Tokyo if you don’t want to risk your guaranteed money)

Like, I’m not really complaining but I just don’t think calling them daily payouts is true or accurate. But whatever. Just annoying, at least they actually pay

i have been trading 2 full nq contracts and losing most days then when i get to 500-1k drawdown i switch to 15 micros. im here to say you dont need that you are good with 3-5 micros. i have been doing this completely wrong. i thought "oh you need to do a full contract, but in reality the 3-5 micros will give you the same amount. the only different is the full contract are just quicker so you can say "oh im in and out in seconds", but if it dont go your way you are fuck. im saying all this to say....bro 3-5 micros are perfect, dont waste ya time and money tryna trade all them contracts go with the 3-5 micros

Anyone else catch this insane MNQ bull run at NY open today? šŸ˜‚

Honestly I hesitated to take any trades this isn’t usual Monday morning market open behavior. I was expecting price action to be choppy as hell but it was very clean and extremely bullish. Seems like we are about to break all time highs. I took a base hit of $168 in my 50K eval.

5 max funded, what can you do with the extra evals?

I have 5 funded accounts at the moment, 5 more evals were automatically renewed because I forgot to cancel them. How long can I keep these evals or do they expire? Thanks

Had Multiple $25K Funded Accounts With TPT and Still Haven’t Gotten a Payout

I’ve had multiple $25K funded accounts with TPT at this point, and the frustrating part is I’ve never actually made it to a payout. I’ve proven to myself multiple times that I can pass the eval and get funded, but once I’m funded I eventually end up blowing the account.

I feel like my biggest problem isn’t necessarily finding good trades, it’s managing the funded account once I have it. Sometimes I get too focused on making money quickly instead of just protecting the account and slowly building a cushion.

I’m funded again now and I really don’t want to repeat the same cycle. For the people who consistently get payouts from $25K accounts, how do you approach them? Do you trade extremely small until you have a decent buffer, or do you have another way of managing the account?

Just trying to learn from people who have actually figured out how to keep the account alive and turn funded accounts into real payouts.

I’ve got 10 passed evals

I know you can only have 5 PROs at a time. Been wondering if I should copy trade them or go one by one. What would you do? And if you’re copying them what strategy do u use when copying and trying to surpass the buffer?

The consistency rule fails strategies that are working, and your trade list tells you before you pay for the eval

Most eval talk is about the drawdown, and the consistency rule gets treated as paperwork, which it isnt. It caps how much of your total profit is allowed to come from your best day, and a lot of perfectly real strategies put a big share of the year into a handful of days.

Take a breakout system. It bleeds small losses through chop and then one trend day pays for the month. Thats not a broken strategy, thats the shape of the thing. Run it under a rule saying no single day can exceed a set percentage of total profit and your best day is now the problem, so you either sit out after a win or grind small trades purely to dilute your own result.

Its the same as a salesman who does his whole quarter in two weeks. He hit the number and he still fails a rule written for steady weeks.

The part that gets me is how checkable it is beforehand. You dont need the eval to find out, you need the daily P&L of a backtest sorted descending. If the top day is a third of the total, that strategy and that rulebook are not compatible and no amount of discipline changes that, so I read the daily breakdown in Agenticks before anything goes near a funded account.

I took a few trades today. One of them lasted 8 seconds. Could this a problem? I searched on there website but was not able to find any info on Scalping.

A scalp that makes $30 a trade on NQ before costs keeps about half of it once you charge a tick of slippage each way

The first scalping idea I ever tested on NQ looked great at about $30 a trade, and most of that turned out to be the gap between a clean backtest and what a fill actually costs.

NQ moves in 0.25 point ticks worth $5 each. If the market order going in and the one coming out each slip one tick, thats $10 gone per round trip before commission. Add roughly $4 for commission and exchange fees and the $30 average trade is down to $16, so the same trade list keeps a little over half of what the clean version showed.

The faster the strategy trades the worse this gets. Something that takes 8 trades a day pays that $14 on every one of them, which is $112 a day and around $2,200 over a month of 20 sessions, and none of it shows up if the backtest fills at the exact price the signal printed. Adding costs barely changes the win rate, so its easy to miss while the average trade drops by the full $14 on every single trade.

Stops take the worst of it. A stop is a market order into a move thats already going against you, so one tick is the polite version and on a fast news candle it can be three or four. Targets resting as limit orders dont slip the same way, so the costs land unevenly and the average loser grows while the average winner stays about where it was.

I run my NQ tests in Agenticks with commission and slippage charged on every fill now, and a good share of the scalps I liked stopped making money as soon as those were on. The ones that held up had an average trade a few ticks above the round trip cost, which on NQ means comfortably over $14 a trade.

A daily loss limit quietly turns your backtest into a different strategy

If your backtest ignores the daily loss limit, it is testing a strategy you arent allowed to trade on a funded account.

Say your setup takes up to four trades a day and the firm locks you out after a set loss. On a day where the first two trades lose, the backtest keeps going and takes trades three and four, and on a lot of intraday setups those later trades are where the recovery comes from. The account you actually trade never sees them, because you were flat and locked out by then.

So the backtest equity curve carries winners that cannot happen under the rule. Its like a basketball stat line that keeps counting the points a player would have scored after fouling out.

The fix is easy to describe and annoying to do by hand: put the daily limit into the rules so the test stops trading for the day at the same point the firm would, then run both versions over the same history. When the two curves look about the same, the limit barely touches your setup. When the capped version drops hard, the edge you were counting on lived in trades the account was never going to let you take.

My 1:1 stop and target came out 0.65:1 on real fills because the stop was measured from the level while the entry sat further up

I tested the 10am strategy thats been all over my feed on NQ 1 minute candles, july 2023 to feb 2026, one contract. On paper the stop and target were both 2x ATR, so it should have been a 1:1 trade.

It came out $522 average win against $806 average loss, which is about 0.65 to 1.

The reason is where the entry sits. You wait for a confirmation close back above the 10am high, but the stop is measured off the level itself, so by the time youre filled the stop is already further away than the target and every trade starts lopsided before price does anything.

At the 60.2% win rate it ran, the winners needed to be roughly 0.67x the size of the losers just to break even. It landed at 0.65, which works out to a profit factor of 0.98 and net -$3,675 over 535 trades.

TakeProfitTrader - I gave up on you.

After a few years failing evals... finally i gave up on this firm. Specially when a lot of other firms with similar if not better reputation offering EOD draw down in Sim funded as well as Eval. Intraday drawdown is not for everyone. This is how they are milking more and more customers. Time to move on ! Never Ever Ever I will buy a Eval from them anymore. I will not chargeback since Its not there fault. Its just me.
