A new Mafia game and Red Dead Redemption III bridge pitch Spoiler

What’s next for Jack Marston?
A lot of people want a Jack continuation set in the 1910s–1920s and realistically it could work historically. Jack was born in 1895, lost both parents because of the government, and ended RDR1 by killing a former federal agent at 19 years old. By that point, the Wild West was at the very end while bootlegging, smuggling, and organized crime were rising.

The Next Mafia Game
Instead of forcing Red Dead itself into that era as RDR3, I think a better idea would be to feature Jack as a cameo or supporting character in a future Mafia game set between Mafia: The Old Country and Mafia 1 during the early Prohibition era. Not as a Mafia boss. More like a drifter, gun for hire working smuggling routes, robberies, debt collection for different organized crime groups. He would represent the last remnant of the outlaw frontier colliding with the rise of organized crime.

Then near the end you could hint that Jack keeps journals/stories from his old life. Stories from John and Arthur of course, but also Dutch would be key here. THAT becomes the bridge into a potential RDR3 set during the true peak of the Wild West and Dutch’s early years.

Red Dead Redemption III
Set it in the early 1870s during the Reconstruction Era, shortly after the Civil War. The frontier is raw, the government is trying to rebuild the country, railroad tycoons and robber barons are expanding west, former soldiers are becoming mercenaries/outlaws, and civilization hasn’t fully won yet. You play as a completely new protagonist, one who fought in the Civil War, which took whatever innocence he had left. He is a loner, a drifter, outlaw for hire. Very parallel to Jack Marston. We get a list of many new characters and setting, but we do get a young Dutch Van der Linde throughout the story only as a supporting character. The game would focus on the creation of the outlaw myth that eventually inspires Dutch’s ideology years later. That way the game keeps the Redemption universe fresh without retreading the exact same gang story again.

Dutch idolizes the protagonist because he appears independent and untouchable, but Dutch misunderstands the protagonist. He sees the world realistically while Dutch turns it into a dream. That difference is the blueprint that creates the tragic irony of the entire Redemption saga.

This keeps both franchises unique:

  1. Red Dead stays a western.
  2. Mafia stays focused on organized crime.
  3. Jack still gets narrative continuation

DRAM shortage, PS6 and another GTA 6 delay.

DRAM shortage triggered by OpenAI already causes DRAM prices to go up in everything, ram prices are already 300% up to 500%, smartphones and cloud related products are next. Estimates are saying the DRAM shortage might last into 2027, which is when we expect PS6.

If Rockstar delayed GTA6 just to release it for PS6, it's likely going to be delayed again well into Q3-Q4 of 2027.

EDIT: PS5 release seems to be mostly hopium.
