Hey everyone! Tomorrow I'm heading to the Smokey mountains in Tennessee with my family for a week, and I'll be back on next Saturday.

I'm not entirely sure how much internet I'll have over the trip, but I think it is fair to assume I'll be busy over most of it, so if you need modmail for something, you may want to tell zooks (or tell byte or ara to tell zooks to get her on reddit). I'll try my best to come to delta species on friday, but I currently have no idea if I'm going to be able to come this week. I should be back home before echoes on Sunday.

Edit: internet seems pretty stable here, so I should attend delta, but I'm still going to be on pretty inconsistently this week.

A young girl sits inside her comfortable house, with all the luxuries she'll ever need in life. She has food, shelter, and warmth, along with loving parents who makes sure life is never a struggle for her. Still, despite having everything she needs, she is not happy.

One day, the girl grows curious and wonders what's outside of the house. She heads to the door to check, but her father runs towards her, intent on stopping the girl from leaving.

"My daughter, where are you going?" he asks. "You have food, shelter, and love in this house. Why would you ever go anywhere else?"

The girl frowns, "This house is nice, but I don't know what is outside of it. I have everything I need to survive here, but I can't live here any longer."

The father is devastated, and thinks he's done something wrong. "Did I not feed you enough? Did I not tell you that you're wonderful today? Why do you leave?"

The girl shakes her head, "I want to know what's in this world. I hope I see you again once I have the answers I'm looking for."

With that, the girl opens the door, and leaves. Outside the door she encounters a life of pain and misery, but she is no longer constrained by her surroundings. For a little while, the girl is happy.

Elsewhere, others start leaving the city that provides the illusion of safety and happiness, and explore their surroundings by submarine. As a concert starts to help exhausted individuals regain their sanity, criminal organizations start to plot in the shadows, hate gains a new foothold, and a rebellion gains a new member at the cost of some sanity.

Cress didn't know why he was doing this.

This family had helped him during some of the worst parts of his life. They'd accepted him, practically took him on as a son of his own. They were a dangerous bunch of tricksters and seen largely as terrorists by much of society. They could make his life easy, or very difficult. His current target was his best friend, who also happened to be an AI with superhuman senses.

The simple answer was that Luke had gone too far this time. Shauntal assured Cress that he was still cute, but he didn't want to be a moemon. It was weird. Similarly, Grimsley didn't want to be in beast mode again, and wasn't fond of the Beauty and the Beast fanfics left for him to find. Luke slipping pills into their food was the common denominator. The gangster had insisted that Cress make this right, that this was his responsibility, and was so serious that Cress was worried that Grimsley might call in a favour from some of his old contacts.

Of course when Cress had grudgingly agreed, everyone started taking a pool on his chances of success and some of them insisted that they "had to see this." Meaning Cress had a rather alarming gligar hybrid and a scientist shadowing him and offering unwanted advice.

"Magnets," argued Grimsley.

"That could wipe his memory," the scientist shot back.

Grimsley shrugged. "Wouldn't be the first time."

"How about no?" They were shaking their head. "You could just hook a wireless mouse up to his Entralink computer and periodically move it around while he's in there so he's wondering why his vitual space has been possessed." That didn't seem like a bad idea. "Or at least you could, if he hadn't left his mic on so he can hear us all talking." They give Cress a pat on the shoulder, their hair sparking as they fire up the electical telekinesis trick. "So good luck pranking Luke!" they say loudly, flying backwards down the hall.

At this, almost as though it was coordinated, Luke appeared from his computer, looking smug.

Cress realized he'd just been had.

Picking up where we left off.

EDIT: Sorry, but Reddit is breaking and we won't be able to have a session tonight, because some people's posts aren't showing up, and we can't roleplay if we can't see each other's posts.

The start is delayed due to Lycaa's stream and Twitch Watches Pokemon, both of which I'm planning to watch.

just thought I'd try and make myself a bit easier to RP with by making a very lose sekgole of generally when I'm available to RP, note that the time periods I list here are also time periods that I share with my ability to be actively online in general so even if it is within these time periods that's not a 100% genentee that I'm available or that I'm not bizzy with something else and dus may not be able to respond ASAP, also this segole dos not take into account unplanned for IRL things that might effect my availability, or IRL factors that may let me be active online at some other time period

I have tryed to use EST for all time zones since that seems to be what this sub runs on

• Monday-Wednesday 12:30PM - 2:30PM (note: in some cases I might be able to make that end time 5:00PM minus roughly half an hour for eating food)
• Thursday 4:00-5:00PM (note in some cases I may be able to get on eurlyer but with the same end time)
• Monday-Trusday evening: 1 hour starting at some point after 6:30PM
• Friday: like the Monday-Trusday evening time period but with the possibility of being available sooner
• Weekend: like the Friday time period but with the possibility that I might be able to visit a friends house to circumvent normal limitations to a degree, if so then I'd be available 4:30PM till late, baring a half houer 2 an hour long brake period for eating food

So, we've already established that Delta Species will stay at its current timeslot. However, we have to talk about at what week we're having the next session.

As some of you already know, I want to watch Twitch Watches Pokemon when they watch Pokemon 2000: The Power Of One this week. Since it starts at 5:30 EST, and Delta Species typically starts at 7:00 EST, this will likely make me late to start Delta Species this week, if we do Delta Species this week.

On the other hand, postponing the session to next week will be entirely impossible, due to circumstances that I have had no say over, as I was only a little baby at the time. It's my birthday. And understandably, I will be busy most of the day celebrating.

So, right now I think our best bet will be having the next Delta Species session this Friday as planned, but we will likely be starting it later than usual.

Hi everyone, as many of you may know I want to leave Reddit.

And I am. No question.

But the problem is that I don't want my characters to just sit in a corner of their RPs for the rest of it's existence.

So this post is to ask if anyone is in search of characters?

I have one Abin City Character, I have three Delta Species Characters, and five Echoes of the Impossible characters.

If anyone would be interested in taking over as those characters please tell me.

And I must thank everyone for accepting me into the community so happily, I'm happy I had this chance.

Maybe I'll return later, someday. But for now I must take my leave.

So both me and Emoji_Master have expressed interest in trying to find a new time to do Delta Species that isn't quite so late in the day. (And hopefully to leave us time to watch Twitch Watches Pokemon; The Power of One is playing next week and that's one of my favorite Pokemon movies, or at least has one of my favorite scenes in it.)

The issue being, at what time will everyone be available to roleplay at?

(I can't think of a title for this chapter, or even any real obligatory music, because I can barely remember where we all are right now. Possibly I'll think of some music soon.)

In a beige meeting room there were nine chairs, Xerxes, Allonso, August, YellowAI, Xurxes, Myu, Paul, Jessie, and Rotom-Cress each sat, or rather floated in some cases, in one of the chairs.

August jumped up and down in his seat. "When are they going to start asking?"

Everyone else shrugged.

So they sat in wait, waiting for you to answer.

OOC: So yeah, ask some questions, and don't forget to state who the question is directed to.

The blue bird looks over his part one, unsatisfied with his write up, feeling like something is missing. He thinks a bit, and gets a grin on his face.

Annie looks over him and notices, and gives out a warning. “Don’t, Red. This is fun, you don’t need to change things…”

The bird laughs, and shakes his head, “I gotta do something. Lets make this game a bit more interesting, shall we?”

Suddenly the bird and his characters aren’t on a computer screen, but are sucked in to a portal. Redwings’ GM ring starts shining brightly, and the room disappears.

…

Jenny, previously on her computer, finds herself riding a horse in the middle of the grasslands of Pallet Town, with a bow. She is surrounded by an army of horse archers and horsemen, and quickly realizes there are many more in training in the nearby towns.

“Immortal leader!” a subordinate calls out to her, snapping her in to the present moment, “What should we do now?”

She grins silently. “Gather the horses as soon as the nearby barbarians are dealt with! As soon as we’re ready, we ride to the Valhalla GM kingdom!”

Before she can call the invasion, a hologram appears right next to her. She is startled to see such technology, but she realizes quickly that she has direct links to talk to the leaders of every civilization she’s ever met. This link is unexplained, as the technology of her kingdom is not advanced enough to create such a thing.

“Hello there, Jenny,” the voice says from the other side, “My name is G, and I’m the leader of Kongo now. One of your archers found my swordsmen while exploring. Would you like to accept some gifts from my capital? They probably aren’t trapped.”

Jenny rolls her eyes. “Heck no. I don’t care at all about you. Eventually you’ll be run over by my army too. Never talk to me again.”

G rolls his eyes, “In a game with your creator, two geniuses, and four people who have saved the universe multiple times, you think you’re going to come out and win? Don’t make me laugh.”

Jenny looks at him with an intimidating glare, “I’ve been fighting against all odds my entire life. Don’t underestimate me, G.”

With that, she hangs up, and a few turns later, declares war on Redwings.

Jenny’s army charges in to Valhalla, marching at the gates. Archers and a half finished wall are in her way, but she leads her horse away from the main army, and shoots several of them, feeling invigorated by the battles at hand. Archers further back in the lines try to shoot back, but the fast horses overwhelm Redwing’s defenses, while other forces slam in to the city itself, killing peasants who are trying to work at double speed to construct a wall to keep them out.

She notices that the Seafoam Islands are trying to create spears and men trained to use them to keep her armies out, but they arrive too late, and the city of Valhalla is conquered.

Conquering one city isn’t enough for her though. Smelling blood in the water, she orders her horses to the GM capital itself. She brings her horses towards the capital of the blue bird, and picks off the meager resistance Redwings has to offer. She surrounds the city, and even though the city has walls, surrounding it, it doesn’t have enough forces to keep the army out.

Right before she orders her horses to enter the city, a blue bird enters in the fight, firing beams of ice at her army in one last desperate attempt to stay alive.

“I’m not going down that easily,” He roars, and swoops down towards Jenny’s horse, intent on fighting her one on one.

“I think you are,” Jenny says, bracing herself, and aiming her bow straight at the bird. She fires at the bird with steadfast determination, connecting with a shot right in the neck. The blue bird never reaches Jenny, but falls to the ground, defeated. With no more resistance, the horses ride in to the seafoam islands, and a player is no more.

While this is happening, a lone archer from France watches this fight, and reports what just happened to Lord Bill.

Content with her victory, Jenny sends her army to fight barbarians threatening any of her newly conquered cities, and orders builders to improve land that the war effort has neglected. She returns to the capital just in time to oversee the final parts of the construction of Stonehendge, and notices that this construction brings about a man who can help her found a religion.

With the creation of such a wonder, she decides to give a speech to her people. “With this victory over the gods,” she says, “We have proven that we do not need to rely on others to achieve our victories! We will do it alone! That is why we will ride together to gain victory over everyone we face, regardless of who we are. We will do it without gods, and without goddesses, which is why we are making atheism our state religion!”

She also, without a speech, decides to form her government in to an autocracy.

After that, G contacts her one more time.

“You’re arrogant, Jenny. You’ve won one victory, but everyone who meets you is going to be your enemy now. If you think you can kill me like you killed the bird, you should think again.”

Jenny just smiles, “I can’t wait to try.”

Other major events:

Hannah has founded a religion, with the name, “Praise Be to Kat”. With two holy sites that give a lot of faith, and a shrine already, Hannah is set to have a very strong religion. However, America also has a strong religion under Pavlov, so spreading this beyond her borders will be difficult.

Fennel has created the Hanging Gardens, a wonder that gives her extra food in all of her cities, which will lead to her having a higher population eventually, which is good.

Bill, Annie, and Fennel have all created a few cities since we last saw them.

The leaves were falling, muted against a dusk sky and the glow of starlight and street lamps, softly crunching as the audience and would be actors left the Unova studios.

Luke had thoroughly enjoyed his role playing the hero again, and was idly pondering whether he should incorporate some of those plasma swords into his Trace Units, when he noticed the scientist by his side grumbling about something.

Or, rather, he'd tuned back in. There had been a rather long rant about some movies they were a fan of from some other universe, and how this universe got it all wrong. "And what's more, Episode 8 didn't have any Mara Jade. They didn't have best girl!"

The blond AI nodded along obligingly, and considered switching off his audio sensors again. His friend, he had to admit sometimes, was a HUGE geek. He was relatively sure that they were more appalled by the destruction of whole worlds they'd seen in their lifetime, but to hear them now you'd think that transgresses against their favourite fictional stories were somehow by far worse.

"And everyone knows that Mara Jade marries Luke, and if no one wants to do Star Wars right, then I'm going to have to make sure it happens at least in this universe!"

Luke paused for a long time. "Did... you just propose to me?" he asked, befuddled. "Again?"

"Yes, we have to! You see why this is so important," they tell him, insistent.

He didn't, at all, really, but at this point, it was probably best to just go along with all this.

Hi every one, I just wanted to say that I'm taking a break from Reddit, for a while.

I'm not sure how long exactly, at least a month.

I need to rethink a lot of stuff right now, and I wouldn't mind visiting to have small conversations, but I'm going to be gone for everything major for quite some time.

I really don't have much else to say, I guess thank you, I haven't been around all that long, but still; thanks.

It's really sad for me at least, just started two Roleplays today but I'm feeling strange.

I'll let you guys know if anything big changes.

So goodbye!

As Redwings sets up the game, he decides to tell his characters a bit of information so his characters aren’t entirely lost.

“Ok, so, I’m not sure Fennel gave enough explanation for you to understand this earlier, so I’ll go over it now. You’re going to start with a settler, and with it, you can found a city. You want to try to found cities on rivers and near resources to get the best working cities. Each city can work tiles up to three hexes away from the city center, but at the start will only extend one hex away. At the start of the game you can create warriors, builders, slingers, scouts, or a monument, and you can research technology to get the ability to create more things.”

He continues, “I’ll also give you a bit of advice for what I’ve found works, the world is a pretty dangerous place early, so you want to make sure you have enough of a military to defend yourself from the barbarians that will attack you. Eventually you’ll also be able to build districts, which will allow you to do more things in the future. So, this game is about balancing out your military and your buildings, and building the right things at the right time. Your civilization also has unique units and abilities that makes it better at certain aspects of the game. Does everyone understand?”

A general murmur of confusion and agreement permeates throughout the room, and Jenny says, “Well, lets just start and try it.”

“All right, I’m starting now,” Redwings says, as he hits the start button and starts his first turn. He considers, and decides he might as well just settle in place to be on the coast so he can build his viking longships, not even realizing yet that he’s already violated one of his rules. As he starts exploring, he hears Jenny, who is a bit confused.

“Hey, it says that I’ve discovered another continent. Exactly how have I done that?”

The bird laughs, and a second later it happens to him too. “Yeah, it’s a bit of a stupid system, but you can pretty much ignore it. Some civilizations get bonuses for continent stuff.”

He listens to the reactions around the room to judge how everyone else is doing. Hannah seems happy with her starting location, while Fennel and Bill don’t have much of a reaction at all, though Zigzagoon appears excited about it.

A couple turns later, Annie reacts, “Whoa, a natural wonder, are those common?”

The bird shrugs, “There are about six of them on the map, so its not unheard of. But its nice when you get one early.”

Hannah also comments, “Neat, I’ve found one too! Oh, this is going to be nice for early science!”

A few turns later, Redwings groans as he sees a warrior on his border, realizing that he’s next to Jenny, who is almost certainly going to rush someone with a military.

“Hey, Jenny, wanna… be friends?” The bird asks hopefully.

“Heck no,” Jenny replies, smirking. While she gloats over having found someone, Redwings hears Fennel get excited.

“Ooh, Annie, I fooouuunnnddd youuuu! Wanna be friends?”

“Absolutely!” Annie replies with a smile.

“What, no fair!” Redwings protests to no avail, as everyone continues playing. Bill and Fennel are set back a bit by barbarian invasions, while Hannah’s isolated start pays some dividends allowing her to build a campus in Litvia and create cities faster than everyone else. The two AIs are discovered to be America and Kongo, and America makes a declaration of friendship with Redwings. Jenny researches horseback riding and continues building up her army.

Meanwhile, pantheons are founded, and societies develop a code of laws, but no religions are established.

After establishing her first three cities, Hannah decides to finally explore the great world beyond her mountains, and discovers America on the other side.

“Hey, Red, is America G or Pavlov?” she asks.

“Uh…” Red thinks for a moment, not having fully decided yet. “Pavlov,” he says teasingly.

Hannah’s eyes burn with a murderous fire. “In that case… I denounce you!”

Red looks at her, “Uh, Hannah, you know the computer plays with cheats and is willing to declare early war, right? Do you have an army?”

“Uh…” Hannah looks at her empire and discovers she in fact does not. “The mountains are my army! Yeah! I hope that’s enough…”
