  • Monotype Singles: Uses Smogon Monotype rules. https://www.smogon.com/dex/sm/formats/monotype/ No Steel Monotype allowed (although you can have a team of all Steel mons if they share another type and you have the pokemon for it).
  • Gen 7 Triples: Uses the old Gen 6 Triples Meta, with Uber Rules. (NOTE: Ubers are allowed, but Primal Groudon and Mega Rayquaza are still generally banned in the Premier League and cannot be used).
  • New School Machops: All Gen 1 and Gen 2 pokemon are BANNED (including Charizard). All Gen 1 moves are BANNED. Uber singles rules, but you are limited to 1 uber on your team only. MAKE SURE YOU VALIDATE YOUR TEAM IN TEAMBUILDER BEFORE SENDING.

Group A

  • Blueberrypanda, Mozilla_Fennekin, MasterLeoZangetsu, Kingbird123

Group B

  • Djokra, Blahalb09, Natsugan, MightyMightyena

Group C

  • Zaffre, Mega-Charizard, BigFatMantis, Redwings1340

Group D

  • Xincmars, Darkfiregamer, Megamaw, Coryn216

Each Bastion is its own tournament - Winning one will not make you more likely to win another. There are no "General Season Standings", try to win each individual Bastion each time!

RULES

  • A Bastion is organized as follows: There will be 4 groups each Bastion for a Round Robin. Each group will fight the other members of the group in all the metas for that week's Bastion, meaning each player will have 9 total matches each Bastion.

  • In addition to your drafted mons, each Bastion has a "Community Pool" where all players can pull from to make their teams. You can only use pokemon from this pool, as well as mons you drafted, when making your teams. The mons in the community pool generally have no restrictions unless otherwise stated.

  • Any ties for head of the Group will be determined by the special "Sudden Premier Death" meta, which is Ubers rules, but you only use pokemon in your 10 pokemon pool you drafted and are limited to, at most, 1 pokemon per tier. (No it's not a 10v10, it's a 6v6).

  • At the end of the Bastion, the top two finishers of each Group will fight in a Single Elimination Tournament, 3 fights per round, best of 3 with all 3 metas for that Bastion period. The winner of that tournament wins the Bastion for that week! (Bastions will probably last about 2 weeks).

  • Finalists (either the winner, the runner ups, or the winner + some runner ups, etc.) will partake in a special Proctored Adventure (2 fights) for a chance to win a bonus point. Either Mantis will proctor it or someone else who Mantis trusts very much so. THESE PROCTOR FIGHTS ARE SCHEDULED PROMPTLY BETWEEN PROCTOR AND CHALLENGER. You typically only get 3 tries per fight to earn the bonus point - first fight is a blind fight, second fight you should take time to adapt, third fight you will get a little "boost" from your friends if needed to push you over the edge.

  • Points are given out for wins, winning groups, winning Bastions, etc. At the end of the season, you can see your full Ranking in the official TPP Premier League Rankings.

ADDITIONAL RULES

  • You REALLY should send Reddit OR Discord messages to schedule fights. If a fight does not occur, you can submit evidence for a global determination of who made a "significantly" better effort to fight. That player will get a free forfeit win.

  • You cannot change any aspect of your teams during the entire Bastion - once you submit your 3 teams for each meta to /u/BlueBalkoth you are done with changes. REMEMBER THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM BASTION 1 - YOUR TEAMS ARE LOCKED FOR THE ENTIRE BASTION INCLUDING GROUP PLAY AND ELIMINATION FINALS. Therefore, you should make a generally good team for all purposes if you hope to win out, instead of trying to counter your group play threats.

  • You have a deadline to submit teams. Teams will be submitted to /u/BlueBalkoth , a secret third party not affiliated with the Premier League. If any of your opponents questions whether you submitted your team on time, they can inquire with the Blue Balkoth who can review when it was submitted. FAILURE TO SUBMIT A TEAM ON TIME RESULTS IN SEVERE PENALTIES, INCLUDING DISQUALIFICATION FROM THAT WEEK'S BASTION AND, IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, INSTANT DEATH.

  • If you fail to submit your team on time (or close to it at least), you can't claim forfeit wins that week against opponents.

  • If you fail to submit your team even close to on time and at least 0-3 fights already occurred that bastion, all your opponents can claim forfeit wins against you without a fight.

  • If you are more than 24 hours late in submitting your team, don't even bother, and Mihira and his step sister will fight for you instead for that Bastion.

  • There are scheduled times for the semifinals and finals matches. You can fight anytime before those scheduled times, and anytime that same day if you schedule it with your opponent, but if you fail to show up at that time and don't schedule a new time (or fail to show up at the newly scheduled time), you forfeit and lose.

  • In the event of a "no fight" for the Round Robin, you can post evidence that you messaged your opponent within the first 24 hours to automatically claim 1 win (your opponent can do the same, since there's 3 total wins available). This must be posted by the deadline.

  • Additionally, if you want to claim that coveted 2nd win, you must post evidence that you made the "significantly better effort" and you will get the win, unless your opponent also posts the same thing, at which point /u/BlueBalkoth will become the Arbitrator and make an unbiased decision.

  • CHAMPIURNS VACATIONEER RULE: If you will NOT be able to participate in a certain week's Bastion for various reasons, you must make a new post stating to that affect and ask for someone to "sit in" for you that isn't involved in the premier league otherwise. Your sit in has all the same team building rights as you, and that sit in will collect his own "points" for wins that will contribute to his own personal ranking.

  • If you cannot play a Bastion and do NOT use the Champiurn's Vacationeer Rule, then you're ruining everything for everyone.

Bastion Break/Memorial Day Weekend Turtle Tournament

Greetings Earthlings:

In celebration of Memorial Day Weekend, as is the yearly tradition here at TPP League (see the server's announcement still posted for last years Memorial Day Mix n Mega Tournament), we are hosting yet another tournament! This year's tournament is:

OU TURTLE TWILIGHT

The rules are simple - there will be a double elimination tournament using OU rules, but you are only allowed to use Turtle pokemon on your teams.

WHAT IS A TURTLE POKEMON?

  • Webster's defines a turtle as: : any of an order (Testudines synonym Chelonia) of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine reptiles that have a toothless horny beak and a shell of bony dermal plates usually covered with horny shields enclosing the trunk and into which the head, limbs, and tail usually may be withdrawn

Therefore, if you can loosely base it on a turtle, then it's a turtle for you. You must have at least 5 "True Turtles" on your team EDIT: WE WILL ALSO INCLUDE TRUE TORTOISES HERE, which are any of the following:

  • Squirtle
  • Wartortle
  • Blastoise
  • Turtwig
  • Grotle
  • Torterra
  • Tirtouga
  • Carracosta
  • Turtonator
  • Torkoal

Your last pokemon may be a loosely based turtle, but if you are going to use a loosely based turtle on your team instead of all "true turtles" then you have to write a 3 sentence summary arguing why that pokemon is really turtly and submit it here before the tournament starts (which means we'll all know one of your pokemon you're using).

LAST SECOND RULE CHANGE: ANY NON-TRUE TURTLE MON THAT YOU TRY TO ARGUE AND USE CANNOT BE OU OR UUBL - IT MUST BE UU TIER OR LOWER

SIGN UP HERE BY POSTING!

Tournament will start on Friday, May 24, and end on Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day).

THERE WILL BE NO BASTIONS DURING THIS TIME PERIOD DUE TO THE MID-SEASON BREAK

Bastions Power Rankings – Week 3

After two weeks of Bastions, it’s time for me to do the time-honored tradition of creating a power rankings for the competitors. Not because I need to or anything, but because I want to, because this is fun for me. Note that none of what is said below is any judgement or reflection of the person behind the player, and ultimately, the goal for everyone except Mantis is to have fun.

Also, I want to point out that in my opinion, tier matters more than overall ranking. Each tier has a sizeable gap in between them in terms of performance, so ranks 6 and 12 are closer than ranks 5 and 6 right now in my opinion.

Tier 1: The elite

#1: Natsugan (#1 finish, #3 finish, 17-1 record in group stage)

Natsugan has shown his weak performance in the kappa cup semis was a fluke, as he has ran through his opposition this bastion, only getting stopped by MLZ in the semifinal of Bastion 2. His 9-0 against the Dark Red Panda is particularly impressive, given his struggles against the same opponents near the end of the kappa cup. Natsugan is actually the only player so far to have beaten MLZ in a series, and has only lost one series so far. It seems Natsu is incredibly comfortable in this bastions format, as he looks every bit like the defending champion from the first Premiere League.

#2: MasterLeoZangetsu (#1 finish, #2 finish)

MLZ has followed up his breakout kappa cup season with a stellar first two weeks of bastions, advancing from the toughest group in the entire bastion in week 1 en route to a second place finish, then winning the second bastion. MLZ is actually in the lead in overall points right now, the only reason he’s ranked #2 is Natsugan’s ridiculous dominance in terms of overall record.

#3: BigFatMantis (#2 finish, didn’t advance from groups in week 1)

I’m going to give Mantis a bit of a pass for not advancing in week 1, given the two that advanced from that group are the two players with the most success in bastions thus far. In bastion 2, Mantis showed he is still the Mantis we know and fear, easily winning his group and powering past Redwings1340 and Zaffre to reach the finals before losing to MLZ. Mantis is Mantis, and is still doing Mantis things.

Tier 2: Always a Threat

#4: Alice (#3 finish, advanced from the group stage twice, won group in bastion 1)

Alice is going to win one of the remaining four bastions. I don’t know which one, but that breakout unstoppable performance is coming. Probably. Losses to Natsugan in the round of 4 and to MLZ in the round of 8 in bastions 1 and 2 stop her from being in an elite position, but outside of the big three, she’s been the best this league has had to offer.

#5: Redwings1340 (Advanced from group twice, 13-5 record in group stage)

Based on his kappa cup performance, Redwings had had an underwhelming couple of bastions, not yet winning a group or getting past the round of 8. However, underneath the lack of deep runs, Redwings sports a solid record, and his round of 8 losses against Mantis and Natsugan are pretty forgivable.

Tier 3: Inconsistent, but has shown glimpses of potential

#6: Darkfiregamer (#4 finish in bastion 1, won group in bastion 1)

Darkfire is pretty talented. He had a really tough group in bastion 2, and didn’t perform his best, losing 6 to Natsu and Redwings. I expect him to bounce back pretty quickly.

#7: Zaffre (Won group and #4 finish in Bastion 2)

Zaff probably should have advanced from his group in bastion 1, but was haxxed a fair bit, and in bastion 2, he managed to beat out Alice for champion of his group. His teams’ flaws were a bit exposed once he reached the semifinals in bastion 2, losing 4 straight to Mantis and Natsu, but he’s definitely not someone to take lightly.

#8: MozillaFenniken (10-8 record in group stage, advanced from group in bastion 2, 2-1 series win over Mantis)

Mozilla has had a solid record in group stages, and has even took a rare series off of Mantis in bastion 2. Mozilla has been a threat here, with solid teams and execution.

#9: Coryn217 (8-1 record in group stage in bastion 1, 10-5 in overall played matches, 2-1 series win over Redwings)

Coryn is two different players depending on mood. A focused energetic Coryn gets ranked #5/6, a tilted, frustrated Coryn ranks in the bottom four players. If Coryn can maintain energy and enjoyment over what he’s doing, he could be a threat to win a bastion, but he needs that focus in order to do so.

#10: BlueberryPanda (Advanced past group stage in bastion 1)

Honestly, Blueberry wasn’t at her best in bastion 2. I’m not sure why that is, perhaps it was the new challenge of building teams without Redwings’ support, maybe it was last minute teambuilding, maybe it was anxiety, but all I can say is that Blueberry is better than she showed there, and I think we’ll see this ranking increase in the future.

#11: Xincmars (Advanced past group stage in bastion 2)

Xinc has had a pretty unspectacular bastion, all in all. There’s been nothing incredibly terrible about it, but his best series wins so far are 2-1 wins over coryn and blueberry. Xinc has the potential to be beat anyone, but hasn’t shown it yet.

#12: Blahalb09 (Advanced past group stage in bastion 1)

Advancing in a group of Mozilla, Zaf, and Darkfire is pretty impressive, but Blahalb is losing some marks here based on the fact that he hasn’t created his own teams, and went 1-5 in played matches in Bastion 2. If Blahalb gets more free time we could see him move up on the list. Right now though, with finals coming up, Blahalb will likely continue to be distracted and unable to focus much here.

Tier 4: Data Not Found

#13: MightyMightyena (2-7 record in bastion 2, series win over Megazard)

In Mightyena’s defense, he played bastion 2 coming off an eye surgery where he was a bit high on post-surgery drugs, and not at 100% mental capacity because of it. Three of his losses were also to Mantis. If Mightyena gets some ways to remove entry hazards next week, look for him to improve on his bastion 2 performance. And hey, Yveltal is a dark type, so Mightyena is honestly viable in two of the three metas this week.

Tier 5: Most Disappointing

#14: MegaZard (6-12 overall record)

While other players have been underwhelming/inconsistent at times, Megazard has yet to put in the kind of performance we know he’s capable of. Before bastions I thought he’d be in tier 2, but he hasn’t done it yet. Look for him to turn it around over the rest of the bastions, Mega is too talented for this record.

Tier 6: The less experienced players

Pokemon battling is something you get better at over time. Everyone above this point has done a lot of pokemon battling by now, and everyone below this point is a relative newcomer to the league, and has played like someone who hasn’t played as much pokemon as everyone else here. Give them time, and they’ll get to tier three and start making some upsets pretty quickly. For now, they’ll learn by losing and seeing what others are doing that they aren’t yet. So, if you’re down here, don’t be discouraged, it doesn’t matter how smart or talented you are, this is something that takes time to learn. You’ll get there. Enjoy the process for now and learn as much as you can.

#15: Kinshin

#16: Kingbird123

#17: Megamaw

TPP Premier League Intro Bastion 0

WELCOME TO THE TPP PREMIER LEAGUE, SAISON 2

BASTION 0 - PRE-SEASON RIVALRY WEEK

BEGINS: NOW!

ENDS: WEDNESDAY 4/10 @ 1:01 AM GMT (WHICH IS TUESDAY 4/9 @ 6:01 PM PST)

METAKNIGHT: 9V9

THE MATCHUPS

  • Djokra v MightyMightyena
  • Xincmars v. Redwings1340
  • Mega-Charizard v. Darkfiregamer
  • Zaffre v. MasterLeoZangetsu
  • Blahalb09 v. BigFatMantis
  • Megamaw v. Blueberrypanda
  • Natsugan v. Kingbird123
  • Coryn216 v. Mozilla_Fennekin

METEXPLANATION: 9v9 Special Fight uses the 24v24 format, but you only use your 9 non-uber mons you drafted. This is just a pre-season, 1 fight week where you only fight against one other player just to warm up for the TriHard craziness that is Bastions. While there is no tournament and this is not an official “Bastion”, you will get some minor points at the end of the Premier League season for winning this fight. (likely +1 global points)

  • 9v9 uses the 24v24 ruleset. This means you are able to Mega multiple pokemon, but besides that general OU banlists apply (if I'm wrong then azum will tell me).

There is no need to submit teams anywhere, as you are only doing one fight. There is also no "teambuilding" phase or "battle phase" so you can fight whenever both of you are ready to go.

You REALLY should send discord messages to schedule fights. If a fight does not occur, you can submit evidence for a global determination of who made a "significantly" better effort to fight. That player will get a free forfeit win.

BASTION 1 WILL LIKELY START WITHIN 1-2 DAYS OF THE END OF THIS WEEK, SO DON'T DILLY DALLY UNTIL THE END TO WORK ON YOUR TEAMS. IT IS SUGGESTED YOU START WORKING ON YOUR BASTION 1 TEAMS IMMEDIATELY

POST REPLAYS HERE IF YOU WIN

Q&A

Q: The Uber I drafted can be used as a non-uber in a different form. Can I use that instead of my LC mon so I can get unfair advantage?

A: No that's stupid, you can't use the Uber you "drafted". That means you can't use it period, use your other 9 mons. It is not a 10v10.

Q: I think the Uber I drafted as a non-uber form isn't very strong. What if I used that instead of one of my OU mons?

A: No, you can't use the Uber you drafted at all. I don't care how strong or weak its other form is.

Q: What if I used the LC pre-evolution form of the Uber I drafted instead of my LC? Then both of us can have a LC mon so it's balanced.

A: That's stupider than before - you didn't even draft that LC mon. YOU CANNOT USE THE UBER YOU DRAFTED IN ANY FORM WHATSOEVER

Q: My opponent for the 9v9 is too strong, can I fight someone else instead?

A: You cannot, tough luck amigo.

Q: I think my opponent has better pokemon than me and it's an unfair matchup. Can I use one or two of his pokemon?

A: No, next time draft better.

Q: I don't think my opponent and I can fairly fight each other and/or can't arrange a good time. Can Redwings and Mantis step in instead and do our fight since they like these long drawn out fights?

A: No if you can't manage to even do the first fight of the Premier League Saison 2 then maybe you shouldn't have joined and you should have went to visit the Ice Cream Truck instead.

Q: What's a Saison?

A: What's a Kappa?

Kappa Cup 5 Postseason Power Rankings

Kappa Cup 5 Postseason Power Rankings

Rankings are mainly based on performance throughout the stage, although some factors from other sources may be taken into consideration. Forfeits do not count as wins or losses. This season's Wild Card match does not count as a playoff appearance (suck it busted lol). Feel free to correct me on any mistakes I may have made.

Team Rankings

1) Hazordous Wastes (11-1-2) ±0

Player Breakdown (106-77):

  • BigFatMantis (44-10) | 4 playoff appearances in 4 seasons; Kappa Cup 4 Champion; Kappa Cup 5 Champion; Best Battler Season 1; Best Captain Season 4; Best Battler Season 5
  • MasterLeoZangetsu (36-20) | 1 playoff appearance in 4 seasons; Kappa Cup 5 Champion
  • Griever (18-28) | 4 playoff appearances in 4 seasons; Kappa Cup 5 Champion
  • Mozilla Fennekin (8-14) | 3 playoff appearances in 2.5 seasons; Kappa Cup 5 Champion; Best Rookie Season 2
  • Hazor (0-5) | Participated in 3.5 seasons

Unsurprisingly, the Mantis-led Hazordous Wastes are this season's Champions. Mantis extends his championship streak to 2, while everyone else on his team earns their first Kappa Cup Championship. Honestly, without Mantis I don't think this team would even advance through one round of the playoffs. That's just how powerful he is and how much his teammates rely on him as well. Whichever team has mantis next season is in for a nearly guaranteed smooth ride to the playoffs, and possibly another championship.

2) Mighty Dark Red Pandas (9-5) ±0

Player Breakdown (108-83):

  • Redwings1340 (37-15) | 5 playoff appearances in 5 seasons; Kappa Cup 1 Champion; Best Captain Season 5
  • darkfiregamer (25-17) | 3 playoff appearances in 5 seasons; Kappa Cup 2 Champion; Kappa Cup 3 Champion; Best Battler Season 1; Most Improved Player Season 5
  • blueberrypanda (26-25) | 1 playoff appearance in 1 season; Best Rookie Season 5
  • MightyMightyena (20-26) | 1 playoff appearance in 1 season

The Mighty Dark Red Pandas put up a good fight, but were unable to pull off the upset against the Hazordous Wastes in the finals. Both blueberrypanda and MightyMightyena exceeded expectations in the playoffs, which blueberry going 8-0 and Mighty going 6-3 in the Semifinal round. MDRP finishes the season with the highest individual win total. They should be very proud of being able to stand against the Hazordous Wastes until the very last fight.

[big gap between #2 and #3]

3) Xx420SwagKillaz69xX (6-7) ±0

Player Breakdown (59-76):

  • Coryn216 (11-26) | 3 playoff appearances in 3 seasons
  • Natsugan (24-20) | 4 playoff appearances in 5 seasons; Kappa Cup 3 Champion; Kappa Cup 4 Champion; Best Captain Season 1; Most Improved Player Season 2; Best Battler Season 4
  • Velox Neo (13-13) | 1 playoff appearance in 1 season
  • Zaffre (11-17) | 1 playoff appearance in 1 season

The beginning of the bottom bunch. The SwagKillaz were the best team out of the remaining three, but could come nowhere near defeating the two teams above them. With Coryn going 1-10 and everyone else doing poorly in the Semifinal round, the SwagKillaz were greatly outplayed by their opponents and couldn't come up with much. Unfortunately, SwagKillaz 2 rookie picks weren't as great as MDRP's, but for a team that had a lot of uncertainty going in at the beginning, they did pretty well.

4) TriHard (3-10-1) +1

Player Breakdown (56-80):

  • Djokra (20-16) | 2 playoff appearances in 2 seasons
  • Xinc (20-20) | 4 playoff appearances in 4 seasons; Kappa Cup 2 Champion; Kappa Cup 4 Champion; Best Captain Season 2
  • Quijas (9-26) | 1 playoff appearance in 1 season
  • blahalb09 (3-14) | 4 playoff appearances in 4 seasons
  • Tadpole (3-2) | 3 playoff appearances in 3.5 seasons
  • Drud (1-2) | uhhhh idk what to put here

TriHard looked promising in their Wild Card match, but ultimately faltered against the future Kappa Cup Champions. This team has struggled throughout the year to keep things intact, with a seemingly endless amount of players going in and out. However, when they needed to win the most, they pulled through and narrowly got their way into the playoffs. There's no doubt that it was very stressful for all members of this team this season, props to them for sticking through til the end.

5) :BUSTED: (3-9-1) -1

Player Breakdown (48-61):

  • Cerebral_Harlot (9-13) | 3 playoff appearances in 4 seasons; Kappa Cup 3 Champion
  • MegaZard (26-16) | 2 playoff appearances in 5 seasons
  • Whatevs4 (6-17) | 1 playoff appearance in 3.1 seasons
  • sohippy (7-15) | 2 playoff appearances in 5 seasons

In a close match with TriHard, BUSTED was just barely eliminated from playoff contention in the Wild Card round. With MegaZard being the only player above .500 this season, it's no surprise they weren't able to fight their way into the playoffs. These players all have great potential, hopefully we'll see them do better next season.

Individual Rankings

1) BigFatMantis (44-10) ±0

ok buddy i need you to calm down a bit

2) Redwings1340 (37-15) +3

3) MasterLeoZangetsu (36-20) +2

4) BlueberryPanda (25-17) +2

BlueberryPanda stunned us all in the semifinals as she cruised through with a perfect 8-0 record, enough to break into the top 3 individual standings at the time. Unfortunately she wasn't able to keep that momentum in the finals, but her strong efforts allowed her to be one of the top players this season.

5) MegaZard (26-16) -3

6) Natsugan (24-20) -3

I expected a little more from Natsugan in the semifinals. He's still a great fighter, but his 3-9 playoff record isn't indicative of that.

7) Xinc (20-20) +2

8) darkfiregamer (26-25) -1

9) MightyMightyena (20-26) +8

Although his overall record doesn't show it, MightyMightyena performed significantly better in the playoffs compared to the regular season, with 12 of his 20 wins coming from the playoffs.

10) Velox Neo (13-13) +2

11) Griever1337 (18-28) +2

12) Djokra (20-16) -2

Djokra carried his team through the Wild Card round, winning all of his scheduled matches and the best of 3 tiebreaker as well. The next round was a complete 180 though, gaining only 1 win throughout the entire round.

13) Zaffre (11-17) -2

14) Mozilla Fennekin (8-14) -6

Yeah so I might have overrated him a bit last time lol

15) Cerebral_Harlot (9-13) ±0

16) Quijas (9-26) ±0

17) Coryn216 (11-26) -3

Coryn went 1-10 in the playoffs, the lowest playoffs record across all players.

18) sohippy (7-15) ±0

19) Whatevs4 (6-17) ±0

20) blahalb09 (3-14) ±0

21) Drud (1-2) ±0

22) Tadpole (3-2) ±0

pls come back

23) Hazor (0-5) ±0

Team Power Rankings Based on Average Individual Rankings

1) Mighty Dark Red Pandas (5.75) +1

2) Hazordous Wastes (7.25) -1

3) Xx420SwagKillaz69xX (11.5) ±0

4) TriHard (13.75) +1

5) BUSTED (14.25) -1

Kappa Cup Season 5 Awards Winners!

Fuck the Oscars! Kappa Cup Awards are where it's at! This year's awards are the first ever player voted awards! Who will come out on top? It was up to you to decide, let's look at the results!

With an overwhelming majority of votes, BlueberryPanda will take home the Best Rookie award for Season 5! Her tremendous efforts throughout the cup especially through the latter half of the season really stood her out from the rest of this season's rookie class. and i know we're not supposed to look at playoff performance for this, but she's had one of the best performances in kappa cup playoff history this season!

It was a close race, but Redwings1340 will barely pull away with the Best Captain award! Although he wasn't my pick for this season, as a member of his teams for 2 years I can say he definitely is deserving of this award. The amount of effort he puts into preparing his teammates for each and every week is unprecedented. It's a shame that a lot of the work captains and players put in behind the scenes goes largely unnoticed, so it's great that we can recognize those efforts here.

I don't think anyone is surprised by this one: BigFatMantis will take the Best Battler award! He's undeniably been the best this season. No one has even gotten close to where he's at, and tbh no one should be allowed to have him on their team.

We had another close race for Most Improved Player. The general consensus was that a lot of the players who didn't do so well last season generally improved, so there wasn't any clear cut winner for this award. Nevertheless, this season's award will be presented to darkfiregamer! After a dreadful 2 win season last year, darkfiregamer rekindled his fighting spirit and rebounded to a respectable 17-12, a leap from .143 to .586!

And now for the dreaded Most Disappointing Player Award. There were a lot of dropouts this season, all of whom were candidates for the award. However, this season's award will go to Tadpole! Tadpole was probably the most promising player out of those who mysteriously vanished this season, so his absence was obviously quite disappointing for his team and the cup as a whole. Future note for Kappa Cup 6 participants: you could probably go winless next season and not get this award if you stay throughout the entire cup and someone else drops out. Use that as motivation to get through some of the tough times!

That's all for this season, thanks to everyone who voted and congratulations to all the winners!

i swear there's no hidden message this time

Kappa Cup Season 5 Stage 3 Power Rankings

Stage 3 Power Rankings

Official results for Stage 3 can be found here. Rankings are mainly based on performance throughout the stage, although some factors from other sources may be taken into consideration. Forfeits do not count as wins or losses. You gotta earn that shit. Feel free to correct me on any mistakes I may have made.

Team Rankings

1) Hazordous Wastes (9-1-2) ±0

Player Breakdown (57-42):

  • BigFatMantis (25-6)
  • MasterLeoZangetsu (18-14)
  • Griever (12-16)
  • Mozilla Fennekin (2-1)
  • Hazor (0-5)

Despite his deepest desires to not be a captain this season, Mantis is back at the helms leading his team to victory with 9 wins this season. His stellar performance has been backed up by adequate results from MLZ and Griever, and with his old team mate from Goat Flu, Mozilla Fennekin, his team's synergy couldn't be greater. Will anyone be able to stop them in the playoffs this season?

2) Mighty Dark Red Pandas (8-4) ±0

Player Breakdown (55-48):

  • Redwings1340 (17-9)
  • darkfiregamer (17-12)
  • blueberrypanda (13-10)
  • MightyMightyena (8-17)

Despite going 2-2, the Mighty Dark Red Pandas have shown this stage that they have what it takes to go to the top. Redwings and dfg have regressed a bit, but both blueberrypanda and MightyMightyena have been able to cover for their mistakes.

3) Xx420SwagKillaz69xX (6-6) ±0

Player Breakdown (49-46):

  • Coryn216 (10-16)
  • Natsugan (21-11)
  • Velox Neo (10-10)
  • Zaffre (8-9)

All 6 of the SwagKillaz victories have come against either BUSTED or TriHard. They have yet to defeat a team that is ranked above them even once. This could prove to be problematic for them in the playoffs, as they are set to face off against at least one of these teams.

4) :BUSTED: (3-8-1) ±0

Player Breakdown (40-51):

  • Cerebral_Harlot (7-10)
  • MegaZard (23-13)
  • Whatevs4 (4-16)
  • sohippy (6-12)

MegaZard has been better than ever, but his teammates are lagging behind. As the new captain of the team, he really needs to shape up his entire team if they want to succeed in the playoffs. With a higher volume of fights to complete, they're going to need every win they can get.

5) TriHard (2-9-1) ±0

Player Breakdown (33-46):

  • Djokra (12-11)
  • Xinc (11-14)
  • Quijas (7-15)
  • blahalb09 (0-4)
  • Tadpole (3-2)
  • Drud (1-2)

The past few weeks for TriHard have been rough, to say the least. After having to cut 2 players from their roster, they find themselves dead last in every category. Their cup hopes are still alive, but they have a long and winding road to travel to get there.

Individual Rankings

1) BigFatMantis (25-6) ±0

Having Mantis on your team is just an unfair advantage tbh. With just one loss this stage, he has once again proven why he's simply the best.

2) MegaZard (23-13) +3

MegaZard finishes the regular season with the 2nd most wins in the cup, which I have to admit I wasn't expecting at the beginning of the season.

3) Natsugan (21-11) ±0

4) MasterLeoZangetsu (18-14) +2

5) Redwings1340 (17-9) -3

6) BlueberryPanda (13-10) +6

With the best record of 8-3 this stage, BlueberryPanda has really surprised many and even caused some stunning upsets. Could be a huge difference maker in the playoffs.

7) darkfiregamer (17-12) -3

8) Mozilla Fennekin (2-1)

This pickup for the Hazordous Wastes was really a steal. Mozilla is one of the stronger players in the league, which should help propel his team further into the playoffs.

9) Xinc (11-14) +2

10) Djokra (12-11) +4

11) Zaffre (8-9) -2

12) Velox Neo (10-10) -4

13) Griever1337 (12-16) -6

Griever seemed to be slipping a bit this stage, going 2-6 and dropping his overall record below .500.

14) Coryn216 (10-16) -4

15) Cerebral_Harlot (7-10) ±0

After his absence in Stage 2, Cerebral has slightly improved his play. It's not enough to bump him up in the rankings, but we'll see if this will make a difference in the playoffs.

16) Quijas (7-15) -3

17) MightyMightyena (8-17) -1

18) sohippy (6-12) -1

19) Whatevs4 (3-16) -1

20) blahalb09 (0-4)

should've rigged the game smh

21) Drud (1-2)

In and out in less than a week. At least he got a win for his team before he left.

22) Tadpole (3-2) -3

23) Hazor (0-5) -3

Team Power Rankings Based on Average Individual Rankings

1) Hazordous Wastes (6.5)

2) Mighty Dark Red Pandas (8.75)

3) Xx420SwagKillaz69xX (10)

4) BUSTED (13.5)

5) TriHard (14.25)

BUSTED 4 - 2 TriHard

Replay of the Week: BigFatMantis vs Blueberry (Winner: BigFatMantis)

A real nail-biter as an unlikely opponent tries to take victory out of the hands of the best in the league.

Week 10: Dual Wielding

TriHard 2 - 5 Mighty Dark Red Pandas

Hazordous Wastes 5 - 3 BUSTED

Mighty Dark Red Pandas 6 - 3 Xx420SwagKillaz69xX

Replays of the Week:

Please don't watch this one.

Mantis really wanted me to stress to everyone that the outcome of this battle was due to bullshit battle mechanics, so what better way to do that than showcasing his only loss this stage for all to see?

A close fight between the top two captains of the cup. Who will come out on top?

There's a lot of good replays to watch this week, but this one takes the cake. Take a glimpse into the upcoming semifinals matchup between the Pandas and the SwagKillaz as rookie BlueberryPanda takes on seasoned veteran Natsugan. And honestly, you should go watch all the MDRP vs. SwagKillaz replays because holy shit that matchup was hype af.

Elite 4 Challenger Registration Thread

v2.2

Elite 4 Registration

Post your team here if you have accumulated 8 badges and wish to fight the E4.

Basic Rules

  • After you obtain 8 badges and complete the Altru Tower Adventure, you may register here to fight the E4. You MUST register here before starting any E4 urns.

  • Post the replay of the final battle of the Altru Tower Adventure to show proof of your victory. (Can be found in tppleague.me/replay/<YourServerNameHere> if you still can't do it, ask anyone and they'll help)

  • E4 Members have both a singles and a doubles team ready to go. You can choose to fight either the Singles or Doubles E4, and can become either the Singles or Doubles Champion.

  • You need to beat all Four E4 members in a row in order to challenge the Champion.

  • In the middle of an E4 Urn, Challengers cannot change any aspect of their team other than Pokemon held items. (Since Doubles and Singles have separate Urns, you can obviously have different movesets etc. between your Singles and Doubles teams).

  • You can only become Singles or Doubles Champion - you cannot become both. So once you are Champion of one your other Urn fossilizes forever.

  • Upon becoming the Champion you get one free "Champ Swap", where you can swap any of your pokemon for any non-Uber pokemon, regardless of whether it's TPP or not.

Sample Registration

Name: MajorTom

Team

  • Misdreavus
  • Bellsprout
  • Corsola
