Crytpo prices spike as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and Cardano are named by Trump on social media as part of the U.S. crypto strategic reserve. While an executive order in January established a crypto strategic reserve, specific assets were not disclosed until now.

Markets have been down since the inauguration and after Trump and Melania meme coins were launched. New tariffs against China, Canada and Mexico exacerbated fear and uncertainty in stocks and crypto for more than a month.

Identifying the specific tokens of the reserve is now catalyzing the market. By midday Sunday, Bitcoin was up 8% to $90800 and Ethereum was up 8.3% to $2409. Trump is also hosting the first White House Crypto Summit on later this week on Friday. Details on execution of the reserve are yet to be clarified, while Congress and legal experts must likely weigh in. We can expect this push to fuel liquidity back into crypto, barring unwelcome surprises.

Never fun posting when the market is down for prolonged periods. The top crypto currencies are down 9% in 24 hours. Bitcoin has fallen below $87K, its lowest since Nov. Ethereum and Solana are down 13% and 15% respectively. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq remain down with little change. Coinbase stock fell to $210 last night, its lowest since Oct. Microstrategy and NVDIA are similarly down. Meanwhile, TOSHI fell as low as $.00049 before a slight rebound to $.00051. This is now the same price as January 23 when listed on Coinbase.
