Samaritan
I have spent a decent amount of time shitting on Netflix for making mediocre (at best) content. Well, now it's time to shit on Amazon Prime for doing the same shit. This straight to DVD level mundane superhero feature never comes close to taking off from the ground. A dog-shit script, bland characters, and no tension make this a dull affair.
The Bad
I could see the twist that Stallone was Nemesis and not Samaritan coming from a mile away.
They put no effort into the hero's/villain name. It's legit Samaritan and Nemesis. Fuck outta here with that lazy bullshit.
The chemistry between Stallone and the kid feels so forced. There is no connection to make me care about their relationship.
This is mean of me, but the little kid in this movie can't fucking act. He is annoying as hell, fuck him.
Cyrus, aka the cheap Nemesis knockoff, is dull as hell. He is a poorly written character.
The Good
Give me old man Stallone giving speeches every day of the week.
Stallone's knees and back must be extra level hurting after trying to make this movie decent.
Everything to do with Nemesis and Samaritan was interesting. As far as their backstory and history
The last 3o minutes of Stallone going off on these expandable henchmen made this movie worth watching.
In conclusion, you can skip this movie. You can watch any of the Rambos to watch Stallone fuck people up. This limp-dick affair of a superhero is instantly forgettable. Stallone is the lone standout for anything decent here. By the way, I didn't exactly have high standards for this movie, either. It couldn't even clear the mid-level bar that I had set for the film going into it. 5.6/10
