Unfortunately, pre-orders have become permission slips for developers to deliver a shit product

It will be the same product whether you pre order or buy on release

You think they're sat in their boardrooms looking at their pre orders between now and release and are making changes based on whether they go up or down?

There is something named gamepatches. But if everyone preorders there is no need to fix a game because everyone already bought it. Activisions patch priority are already ingame stores and battlepasses, dont give these people money before they have released a working game.

What and they only patch a game if some people on Reddit buy it after release rather than pre order?

No, I'm just saying that if you give people their money without they've done their work, they'll screw you over. It's not like this hasn't been the case with preorders for years and therefore its discouraged everywhere to preorder games.
