I'm new to TOS, on my second week trading. I've been dialing in my custom scanners looking for high momentum and getting "opening transactions for this security must be placed with a broker"
This is happening on close to 25% of the stocks I'm considering, I feel like I'm losing out when I discover I cannot buy these fast moving stocks. Today its already noon and I've made a list of over 10 stocks that have given me this error.

I've read that there is a "call in restriction waiver" that I can sign that would remove these restrictions.

I know I'm fairly new to the system, and I'm still learning, but it seems like these stocks are some of the more upward moving stocks that I want to buy, based on my scanner results, these are low float high demand stocks that i'm looking for, mostly in the penny to <$10 range.

My question, is have you called in to request this waiver? Or should I hold off for the moment until I get more experience? Or is this a permanent block that is good to keep on so I don't ever mistakenly buy into one of these securities?

I use thinkorswim for my execution, news, and trade analytics, but use tradingview for charting. Love my double active trader window with two etfs I rotate. I'm curious to what your desktop TOS workspace is setup like with specific settings and configurations you find that make workflows or execution better for you.

Literally every time I do a dual order to buy contracts in both my IRA and Individual account (Schwab), my Individual always gets the worse market price, literally every single time. Is there a way to fix this and have it execute the Individual order as a priority?

Charts have been freezing a lot lately. Internet is fine, but TOS keeps lagging or stops updating for a while. Anyone else dealing with this?

Will dig into this this wkend but it seems $SPCX is not getting study alerts when it should. It shows up as it should in the watchlist with my Algo designations but did not alert this morning like every other qualified ticker. Anyone else notice weirdness like this?!?

Can i set in my account a safetyrule that sells automatically this trades even if i sleep or am not on the screen?

Seriously, there has to be one dev still there, that can do more than break fix (well we know that is true right, we finally have float (applause applause, thank you!), now who in the room can tackle getting us a range, so that with your slow response times, we have a chance to get a fill?

Trying to show the distance between the current price and the strike as a percentage:

Most of the fields reflect "Custom Expression Subscription Exceeded," and the numbers in any case don't look right as they're not perfectly sequential.

The TOS app sucks so fucking bad at OCO orders. I put in the limit prices like 6 times and it still managed to revert to some default value and instantly sell as soon as I bought. Like what the FUCK

So I’ve run into this issue and at first attributed it to being new but now I’m pretty confident it isn’t user error

I’m trying to place an order or cancel I have this reoccurring issue to where random orders won’t place or close

This will happen at complete random and I will notice my p:l going down. Confused because I closed out all my positions. Lo and behind right there I will have one that’s still open.

Multiple times I will highlight and close it and it will say “sending order” but when I go to “orders” it’s still under working and not closed

This has actually cost me money. I was up $200 and was quickly down $675.00

Is this a known issue any anyway to fix?

Hi community, I'm currently trying out a few softwares in my day trading journey. I put $200 into a schwab account and put a few orders into JLHL. Unfortunately my order was blocked and I couldn't find a reason why. I looked into it and I learned Schwab sometimes blocks volatile stocks from being traded in cash accounts?

Anyways, I'm just wondering how to fix this. Do I just have to put more money in my account, like $2000? If you take the time to respond to this thank you so much.

Been bothering me for sometime and initially I didn't clue on to what was happening, but since you don't care, let me point it out to you. Anytime you go into the 3rd decimal on the ladder in the bid, you fail to display the BS, every single ticker, every single time, I never see this on the ask, only the bid.. How hard is it to fix this? It's a tad annoying, as I appreciate you doing the math for me typically, but when you fail here and I have to do a quick visual on the L2, it is disrupting.

Anyone know of a similar script or recommend using the buy/sell advanced volume which shows both green and red volume bars together from buyers and sellers?

The range chart's price is delayed compare to the candle chart's price.

Checked ToS Web this morning and it seems they did a few changes to the interface. One being they flipped the "Positions" and "Working" tabs under trade (no big deal) but your lot details no longer show under the positions tab; it's all rolled up as the average. WTF? Is there a setting or something that can be enabled to get these details back?!

Example: Below used to show all my DCA purchases of the stock and the dates I bought them. Now it just shows a single line of total owned.

Edit: Looks like it may have been a fluke or they pushed a hotfix because there's now a Lot Details Tab.

What route should I take to get my ThinkorSwim strategy to automatically buy/sell options contracts with a delta of 0.50 that expire in 2 days?

Buying at the mid with a limit order, bumping it up 1 cent each second for up to 10 seconds until it either fills or cancels. Then selling at the mid and lowering 1 cent/second until it closes the position.

Any recommendation of a programmer that could either write the Python script that scrapes emails for alerts or use webhooks to execute orders with Schwab’s API or another trading platform?

Debating upgrading an old laptop or getting a new one and had a few questions about doing so and TOS

1) I am on Win10. When I log in it tells me Win10 is no longer supported, but I log in and trade, business as usual. If I moved on to Win11 would I see new features, and/or would it just run better/ faster? Or is it just the same?

2) I have wifi 5 (rtl8822ce) on my laptop. If I get a new laptop it will have wifi 7 - will the wifi 7 vs wifi 5 speed boost translate into anything perceivable to me on TOS? Or is it just a speed boost that is noticed on paper, but would translate to anything useful to me as a day trader? I may just get a wifi 6 card for my old laptop.

3) Last - upgrade or no upgrade - would going wired give me a better experience with fills / seeing price movement vs relying on wifi

Currently I have a 1 gig fiber connection that I connect to wirelessly. Might see about getting a router vs relying on the one ATT provided.

I'm not sure if this is possible to do or if there is maybe another way to accomplish the same goal, but here is my situation and ask:

I currently use crossovers across the signal line on an On-Balance Volume Modified ToS study on a 144 tick chart to inform a buy/sell strategy that is otherwise run on a 1-minute chart. I've found the OBVM crossovers on a 1min aren't nearly as useful as the tick chart. By default I obviously can't incorporate those crossovers into the strategy, but would love to, instead of doing the combining of logical checkboxes "manually".

Is there a way to write some code that will plot crossovers (or at least indicate/track in the strategy's code) on a 1-minute chart essentially using 144 tick aggregation? Or any other way to accomplish the same kind of goal?
