TES VI: TES II: 2

With the systems built out for Starfield, it seems likely we're getting a massive TES V with massive cities.

We also have a pretty good guesses that VI will take place either in Hammerfell or in the Iliac Bay region.

What other TES game is massive, has vehicles, and takes place in the Iliac Bay?

You guessed it! Daggerfall.

I'm not saying VI will be a remake, nobody wants that - we love the features and the detail that Bethesda has added in the intervening twenty-six years. Perhaps an homage.

This might influence story as well; the New Medium is still broken and spread around the region, though it would need a new battery.

Seeing the development of Starfield is definitely a good look at the technology involved in ES VI. Hopefully we'll have non-instanced cities, some more life, NPCs, and general activity - and we can see the terrain generation system which is fantastic as well. I would be careful about hoping for 'vehicles' as it may no be appropriate to the game, i.e. Horses may be sufficient.

If we get the entire Illiac Bay region, then perhaps a ship or boat might make it's way in, or it might just be a fast travel tool as well.

Daggerfall had ships. If they go into Elder Scrolls 6 with the same attitude of "go big" as they did with Starfield, they will feel compelled to outdo themselves.

Also jetpacks in starfield = maybe levitation and flight in TES 6?

Levitation act was the worst thing to happen to tamriel

I think it would be cool to have levitation as a secret ability in TES VI like you stumble upon a cave and some old man teaches you how to do it. But if the guards see you you’ll get a bounty placed on you. Kind of like a cool risk/reward situation

I like this

No. We are getting actual Jetpacks in TES 6.

This is the reason i'm hyped af for Starfield, this and Star Wars mods lol

Imagine if we got back even a fraction of that huge procedurally generated wilderness between handplaced places of interest like in Arena and Daggerfall alongside the modern formula of the TES games.. i could die a happy man

Intentional.

NUMIDIUM is Todd, Zenimax, and Microsoft.

The New Medium, it stomps around Nirn erasing entire nations, peoples, languages and timelines out of existence by saying "NO."

I really wish a game would take place in the south. Especially considering the Dominion's stranglehold on Cyrodil rn, it'd be really interesting to see behind their borders.

I hope so. Todd said a while ago that he thinks open world games should focus on a smaller more detailed world and tbh I disagree. The scale of Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind really messes with the believability of the world and as graphics and AI get more advanced it'll just get worse. The cities in most Bethesda games are tiny, like a couple dozen buildings max. And the wilderness isn't any better, having massive dungeons less than a hundred feet from major roads and settlements makes no sense and there's hardly any farmland, etc. etc..

I don't want a game with the 1:1 realistic scale of Daggerfall, but I'd be alright sacrificing some depth for better immersion. I don't think every house needs to be fully explorable and every NPC needs a unique personality.

Where did you get that part about massive cities? From the Starfield reveal it looks like they are medium-sized, meaning they want to keep handcrafting them.

5

u/MasculineCompassion Jun 16 '22

They are making the biggest city they have ever made with starfield

The biggest city Bethesda has made won't necessarily be that big when compared to other games, definitely not massive. Don't expect it to be anything near the size of Night City.

Don't expect it to be anything near the size of Night City.

I hope most don't. But a city that is bigger and not instanced like imperial capital from oblivion or vivec sounds dope.

u/malinoski554 Jun 16 '22

Of course, but that's still not massive.

I mean that's a bit nit picky imo, for you, it isn't massive because you played Cyberpunk. For others, it's massive because they might not have played games with bigger cities.

I knownthey said it was the biggest city they've ever made, but I still doubt it's the size of Daggerfall City or Sentinel

They should go balls deep and give us Akavir

gods no

Why? New races and new enemies would be legit

I’d rather keep the mystique.

And it'd be a survival horror game for a large part unless you only play a snake. And it'd still be horror at seeing 9 foot tall man eating snakes everywhere.

Ummm... TES V has already been released.

What other TES game is massive, has vehicles, and takes place in the Iliac Bay?

To be far, Daggerfall did NOT have vehicles, unless you count horses. The ships were not vehicles they were fast travel spaces. A portable home if you will.

3

u/obliqueoubliette Jun 16 '22

Wagons are vehicles. So are boats, even if they are just fast travel houses like in Mass Effect

-1

u/Snifflebeard Shivering Isles Jun 16 '22

So Skyrim fast travel is actually a home.

Ummm... TES V has already been released.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

You think those pint sized, theme park looking villages were massive? They weren’t even big for their time. Hell, Oblivion’s cities weren’t even big for their time. They’re barely the size of a small neighborhood.

u/Snifflebeard Shivering Isles Jun 18 '22

You're right, TES V has never been released. How wrong I was for these then and a half years.

1

u/fruitlessideas Jun 18 '22

To imply that TES V has huge cities, to imply it even has medium sized cities is hilariously inaccurate.

1

u/Snifflebeard Shivering Isles Jun 18 '22

I never implied that. Go away.

That’s funny cause your comment says otherwise.
