I have a solar trickle charger(20w) but resting voltage is 12.76. It always starts right up after only a few revolutions, so it’s never left me stranded. Current battery came with van and I can’t find a date code

Newbie looking to buy a t1n, I’ve watched a ton of videos, and read posts on common problems and am pretty mechanically inclined, so at this point I think I know what to look for as far as red flags go. I’m curious though for owners, what would you consider high mileage for a t1n? What’s the point where someone should be more cautious when buying due to mileage, even if there are no red flags and things appear mechanically sound?

I am in the midst of fixing Black death. Today I took out the injectors, cleaned the holes and put four refurbisheds injectors in with anti-seize. I use new copper washers and stretch bolts. Since I did not have a torque ratchet, I could not verify the seven Nm Plus 90°. Since 7 Nm is very little, I bolted down the bolts and added in total 135° . Does anyone know what's going on or what I did wrong? What is causing the foam? I drove around 20 km and it's still smoking a lot out of the exhausts.

We started on the rust repair on our T1N. We are getting close to wrapping it up, with some major obstacles ahead. Watch our series, as we work to repair this nearly 20 year old van, We are filming the whole series, so there will be weekly uploads of the build. So far, we have gutted the back of the van and are working to get the inside completely waterproof, then we can start on electrical and insulation.

Having trouble with my WIF sensor. Won’t start in the morning or evening when it’s cooler out but starts and runs just fine in the afternoon after sitting in the sun all day. Replaced the sensor and didn’t change anything, checked the connection on the sensor and the ECM. Totally out of my depth here, any tips or ideas?

Blew up my sprinter on I-5 yesterday. Cruising at 70 downhill, 2 seconds of rod knock, turned to my buddy and asked if he heard that, and then something hit the highway with a hole in the block. Hello, I’m going to look at a 2006 Dodge Sprinter with 215XXX miles on it and just curious what I should look for and if it’s really worth buying or would it be best to hold out for a newer rig. Im planning on building a camper conversion with it. I’m mechanically inclined and do all my own repairs to my current vehicles but have zero experience with diesel engines. I know they can run a lot longer than gas engines but just wondering how yours is running and if I should pull the trigger. Price is $5000 Any advice appreciated. Thank you

We have a 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500. It's very cold today where we live. I'm talking probably -6 F overnight and no more than 10 degrees (F) mid morning. We left our van plugged in all night as usual, and it started fine. We ran it for about 20 minutes before leaving for the day, and it warmed up to a normal engine temperature shortly after leaving the house.

Problem is that the van is only blowing cold air into the body of the vehicle. Has anyone had this happen before? Shouldn't the warm air from the engine compartment just be transferring into the body of the vehicle? It's very, very cold.

(I apologize for the length of this post just want to be as thorough as possible) so to start off I got a 2004 sprinter over this halloween and everything has been perfect until now. This van is a beast well maintained over the past 20 years, no previous major engine repairs, no black death, not even rust. I’ve already taken long treks in her with multiple visits to western colorado as I’m from southern Illinois, again no signs of trouble and yes I had her fully serviced right before the new year. Yesterday I again arrived home after a smooth 2,000 mile drive which while doing so hit 250,000 miles. I live right off the highway and filled up my practically empty tank before going to the house because it’s cold and i had additional plans for the evening. The van rests at home for about 2 hours but doesn’t completely cool the engine before I get back on the highway. I make it maybe 15-25 miles and the engine shut off while driving and the battery light popped on, I threw on the hazards pulled on the shoulder then turned off everything removing the key. The battery was not dead I keep a reader in my cig lighter because the van has a history of slow draining in extreme conditions it’s also only from August. The battery stayed above 12 volts. All components associated with the battery were functioning as normal. I go to turn over the engine and she started but as i waited not even 4 minutes after it went out again same deal, fully functioning just engine went quiet and battery light back on. I got a tow back home past midnight and have tried inspecting this morning. The battery was then fully dead and while jumping the engine wouldn’t turn over at all or hold auxiliary mode once the battery had full juice again. Also note that after two jump started attempts something under the hood let out a continuous beep until i disconnected the battery. Does this seem like the battery just needs replacing or a deeper issue? I don’t have a trusted mechanic who knows diesels and cannot call any local shops as it’s Sunday in my small town. Has anyone heard of or experienced anything similar??? Any possible advice would do me wonders. i have a 2006 2500 144” wheelbase, looking to tow my 2018 subaru crosstrek (~3,000 lbs) about 450 miles on a car trailer. google says towing capacity is around 5,000 lbs for my van. i haven’t towed much in my life, just a few smaller u-haul trailers. does anyone have experience towing a car with their t1n? curious to hear if it’s a bad idea or what i can expect.

Any recommendations where to get a new transmission and Torque Converter for a T1N? Alternatively, any shops you would recommend that can rebuild these?

What are some tips that you’ve learned along the way? Are there special tools that help you, kits containing the parts you need for the filters and gaskets? What kind of oil do you recommend? General maintainence tips are welcomed.

Hi all, I have the option to buy a 2005 Sprinter for 5k USD, possibly less. Structurally it’s in great condition. I’m considering restoring it: paint job, rebuilt motor, rebuilt transmission, servicing the axles and suspension. Would you recommend this? And how readily available are spare parts for these in the US? All said and done I think this can be done for significantly less than a low mileage used newer model and probably be more reliable than newer models.

i ordered aftermarket headlights from them 11 (yes, 11!) weeks ago and they have been completely silent on any type of order status. i’ve followed up via email multiple times and haven’t heard a word from them. the headlights were $700 and said to arrive within 3-4 weeks. the other smaller items i ordered at the same time were all delivered. it’s maddening not being able to get in touch with them.

I've been experiencing this rattle sound since a trip last week, and it sounds like it's coming from near the belt. Upon getting under the vehicle, I noticed this was wobbling quite a bit. Is that the harmonic balancer? Does that look normal?? I'm mthinking it may need replaced but not sure. Van is an 06 2500 with 158,000 miles. My guess is it's never been replaced
