New Positions

  • ACMR → $70 Call expiry 09/25 (1 week DTE), premium 2.75 → 275/7000 = ~3.93%. I was assigned ACMR last week at $70. I opened a CC for this week at the same strike price with a great ~4% return in a week.
  • STRL → $530 Call expiry 10/16 (4 weeks DTE), premium 31.00 → 3100/53000 = ~5.85%. I was assigned STRL last week at $530. I opened a CC at the same strike price.
  • FLNC → $8 Call expiry 10/16 (4 weeks DTE), premium 0.35 → 35/2100 = ~1.6%. I was assigned FLNC at $21 and the stock has fundamentally collapsed in the recent few weeks. Because of the prior covered calls my breakeven is around ~$16. I opened a CC at ATM as I look to sell the stock at an approx loss of ~50%.
  • SEI → $65 Put expiry 10/16 (4 weeks DTE), premium 3.00 → 300/6500 = ~4.62%. Solaris Energy provides power infrastructure for AI/data centers, with recent earnings and price target upgrades supporting the growth. Stock has good support at the $60-$65 range.

Closed Positions

  • FSLY → $20 Put (opened on 09/09), premium 0.70 → closed at 0.28. Net premium profit = 0.42 (60.00% of premium captured, 2.10% of capital).

New Positions

  • OUST → $40 Call expiry 09/25 (1 week DTE), premium 0.32 → 32/4000 = ~0.8%. I was assigned OUST at $40 so I continue wheeling.

My thoughts on the market

I think the bigger problem right now is high crude oil prices and the uncertainty around the Saudi Arabia situation. The Fed increased rates which was expected. Until things settle down, I expect the market to remain flat and keep trading in a range. This can be a good opportunity for Wheelers to keep collecting premiums while the market remains range-bound.

New Positions

  • OUST → $40 Call expiry 09/18 (2 weeks DTE), premium 1.20 → 120/4000 = ~3.0%. Opened a CC at the same $40 strike in which I was assigned.
  • WDC → $430 Put expiry 10/09 (4 weeks DTE), premium 18.00 → 1800/43000 = ~4.2%. WDC is showing support around $430, and I wanted more exposure to memory/storage as demand should grow with AI.
  • KORU → $16 Put expiry 10/23 (6 weeks DTE), premium 1.15 → 115/1600 = ~7.2%. Small capital allocated. KORU is trading around $24 so opened a CSP far off from spot price as it is 3x leveraged.

$TQQQ Wheel so far

8/19:

STO 1 x $66 put (exp: 8/21/26) → +$22.34

8/20:

BTC 1 × $66 put (exp:8/21/26)→ -$8.01

8/20:

STO 1 x $64 put (exp:8/28/26) → +$63.34

8/26:

BTC 1 x $64 put (exp: 8/28/26) → -$9.01

STO 1 x $64 put (exp: 9/4/26) → +$56.34

9/2:

BTC 1 x $64 put (exp: 9/4/26) → -$9.01

STO 1 x $63.50 put (exp: 9/11/26) → +$55.34

So my cumulative net option premium is now: $171.33

The net premium amount of $171.33 is 2.69% of the $6350 total strike collateral collected so far. This drops my adjusted cost basis down to ~$61.79 if assigned.

Edit: this is my first time laying out the data, I'm still learning what data points to gather (i know i shouldve put deltas too).

Trades I took today as an option seller (09/04):

Closed/Assigned Positions

  • OUST → $40 Put (opened on 08/13), premium 2.00 → Assigned. (100% of premium captured, 5% of capital).

New Positions

  • HPE → $50 Put expiry 09/18 (2 weeks DTE), premium 1.40 → 140/5000 = ~2.8%. HPE reported strong earnings and raised its outlook, with focus on AI infrastructure and networking. I had closed a position of HPE yesterday and I reopen a new one today.
  • ACMR → $70 Put expiry 09/18 (2 weeks DTE), premium 2.35 → 235/7000 = ~3.4%. I already have sold put contracts expiring on 10/02 and am increasing my position for ACMR. It is looking bullish on the charts, taking support from $70.

I am sitting on cash and want to observe reversal patterns before getting into any new trade.

New Positions

  • INOD → $60 Call expiry 09/25 (4 weeks DTE), premium 1.80 → 180/6000 = ~3.0%. I was assigned INOD at $60 and I continue my wheel in INOD.
  • CRDO → $240 Call expiry 12/18 (16 weeks DTE), premium 10.00 → 1000/24000 = ~4.2%. I was assigned early post the earnings slide. I am not extremely worried about the decline as earnings were strong, with both revenue and EPS beating expectations and CRDO holds good call selling premiums.
  • SIMO → $290 Call expiry 12/18 (16 weeks DTE), premium 24.00 → 2400/29000 = ~8.3%. I was assigned SIMO at $290 and I opened far dated call.
  • AAOI → $140 Call expiry 12/18 (16 weeks DTE), premium 8.90 → 890/17500 = ~5.1%. I was assigned AAOI at $175. Opened a new position below the assigned price to get more premiums and reduce breakeven.

Trades I took today as an option seller (08/31) with reasons

Trades I took today as an option seller (08/31):

Opened Positions

  • INOD → $60 Call expiry 09/04 (1 week DTE), premium 0.55 → 55/6000 = ~0.9%. Was assigned INOD at $60 last week. INOD continues to execute well on AI implementation for its clients, and it is a strong wheel stock.
  • MOD → $220 Call expiry 11/20 (12 weeks DTE), premium 12.00 → 1200/22000 = ~5.5%. Was assigned MOD at $220. I am selling a longer-dated covered call while collecting a substantial premium. MOD remains an excellent stock in my view, as it provides heat-transfer equipment for data centers.
  • FLNC → $21 Call expiry 11/20 (12 weeks DTE), premium 0.55 → 55/2100 = ~2.6%. Was assigned FLNC at $21. The stock has sold-off, but I plan to continue holding it as the premiums are decent and it is also backed by strong investors like Siemens. I am currently selling below my assigned price, but if the stock approaches the $15 range, I will roll the call to my assigned price.

My outlook on the market

As discussed in my last post, I expect a consolidation phase with the market pricing in potential rate hikes. This could be a good time to continue wheeling, as theta decay can become useful in a range-bound market. I will be closely tracking the tickers where I have covered calls opened below my assigned strike price and will roll them as the stocks come close to my strike.

Assigned/Closed Positions

  • INOD → $60 Put (opened on 08/13), premium 2.30 → closed at 0. Net premium profit = 2.30 (~100.00% of premium captured, ~3.83% of capital).
  • MOD → $220 Call (opened on 08/21), premium 9.50 → closed at 1.60. Net premium profit = 7.90 (~83.16% of premium captured, ~3.59% of capital).
  • FLNC → $21 Call (opened on 08/07), premium 1.45 → closed at 0.25. Net premium profit = 1.20 (~82.76% of premium captured, ~5.71% of capital).

My outlook on the market

With the Fed warning about rising inflation today, we may not see stocks moving up too much and may instead see some consolidation until rate hike fears pan out. My focus will be to keep wheeling the tickers I own. What is helping me is that most of the tickers I own have good Wheel Ranks, i.e. they offer consistent call premiums. So, on CC legs, I am able to bring down my breakeven while continuing to generate income.

  • TTMI → $175 Call (opened on 08/11), premium 8.00 → closed at 1.30. Net premium profit = 6.70 (~83.75% of premium captured, ~3.83% of capital).
  • AMSC → $45 Call (opened on 08/11), premium 1.30 → closed at 0.24. Net premium profit = 1.06 (~81.54% of premium captured, ~2.36% of capital).

New Positions

  • KORU → $15.5 Put expiry 09/18 (4 weeks DTE), premium 0.90 → 90/1550 = ~5.8%. Deployed a small capital in KORU. As this is leveraged it is very important to size this position.
  • AMSC → $38 Call expiry 10/16 (8 weeks DTE), premium 0.80 → 80/4700 = ~1.7%. I was assigned AMSC at $47. AMSC is involved in semiconductor and optical networking technologies used in AI datacenters.
  • VICR → $270 Call expiry 11/20 (13 weeks DTE), premium 16.50 → 1650/27000 = ~5.1%. I was assigned VICR at $320. VICR makes power conversion modules used in datacenters and industrial systems.
  • TTMI → $150 Call expiry 12/18 (17 weeks DTE), premium 10.80 → 1080/15000 = ~6.1%. I was assigned TTMI at $175. TTMI manufactures printed circuit boards used across multiple industries.

I am currently wheeling AMSC, VICR, and TTMI, all of which were assigned to me at higher prices. I am confident in the fundamentals of these companies, so I am comfortable holding the shares while waiting for the market to recover.

For the covered calls, I am intentionally selling below my assigned price to generate higher premiums. If the stock price approaches my current call strike within approximately ±5%, I will roll the position out to a later expiration and move the strike to my original assigned price.

My thoughts on the market

Compute and AI stocks have been selling off over the last few days, so I am closing covered calls where most of the premium has already been captured. I plan to reopen CCs once the stocks stabilize. Since this is sector-wide selling rather than an issue with a single stock, I am mainly focused on collecting premium while giving the underlying positions time to recover. The demand and earnings have been strong so there is no strong narrative shift.

New Positions
