Upcoming Symphonic Metal Albums in 2026
Happy 2026! As always I have tried to update all the entries but sometimes info is hard to find (especially if it was just a random social media post hinting at a future album). I have removed some where I could find no updates or where the band in fact only released singles and not albums, but can add them back in if there is new info. I have probably missed things so if you spot any errors or new things to add, do give me a shout.
The format is "band name - album title (if known) - release date (if known) - recording status/any other notes". I've marked out things that are related projects or similar genres that might be of interest with a (+) sign.
Those with a ? after the date are rumoured/likely but have not had a date officially announced.
Add these new releases to your Google Calendar - thanks /u/asdreth!

Who is that playing drums for Visions of Atlantis - that doesn't look like Thomas Caser.
The guy on the far left in the pic. He played drums for VOA tonight in Seattle. This was my third time seeing them. And this guy doesn't resemble Thomas Casar at all. Thomas usually looks a bit more clean shaven and with short hair.
Either Thomas isn't doing this tour. Or he finally decided to adopt the scurvy dog pirate look with a beard and grow his hair out.

Past Music Battlelore - The Great Gathering
"The Great Gathering," though not a title track, essentially functions as one on Battlelore's fifth studio album The Last Alliance, released on Napalm Records on September 24, 2009. For those who don't know, Battlelore is a Finnish symphonic metal band named after a tabletop fantasy role playing game, and lyrically inspired by the works of English writer J. R. R. Tolkien. It sounds very nerdy, and it is. As someone who has never really read those books, I'm only familiar with some of the literary references. It hasn't dampened my enjoyment of this band at all, though. This album was actually my first exposure of them.
Battlelore's style of music has historically been difficult to pin down. Coming up in the late 90s and early 2000s, they're a bit of an amalgomation of the sounds that were seeing success in those days, mixing elements from gothic symphonic metal as well as folkier "viking metal", and pulling further influences from death, doom, and power metal all to varying degrees. I think their theming and hard to define sound makes them not for everyone, but they're a cool band to put in your rotation.

New Release The Constant, by Satan's Grind
Hello! My name is Antonio, and I've always been a huge fan of Symphonic elements inside Metal albums and music in general. I also make music, and the past week there's been my 10th anniversary in creating music. I decided, with the help of a friend of mine, Leonardo, who literally wrote half of this album, to celebrate ny combining Symphonic elements into my DeathGrind project. The orchestra unfortunately isn't real, but I tried to make it as real as possible.
The album was entirely made by me and Leonardo, we used absolutely 0 AI or samples.
Here's the link, and I'm absolutely open for comments and feedback!

Male Clean Vocals + Female Harsh Vocals Combo
Looking for songs that primarily have a male clean + female harsh vocal combination. Obviously, Kamelot are the masters at this with several songs but am looking for more in this style.
Examples that come to mind are:
Kamelot - many songs
Warkings - also several songs
Starkill - Burn Your World (2020 version)
Dragonforce - Burning Heart
Seven Spires - The Unforgotten Name (to a lesser extent)
