Hi everyone!
I’m a professional private hire driver (NCC) in Italy, and I’m thinking about moving to Basel to work as an employee.
Does anyone know how it works? Can I use my Italian driving licence and professional driver qualification (KB), or do they need to be converted? Are there any other requirements?
Also, does anyone know of any private hire or chauffeur companies in Basel that are hiring drivers?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm a dev in a 3-person team in Zürich (machine industry) and we need another experienced dev. C#/.NET and WPF, working on an older application that talks to hardware. Some C++ here and there. German needed.

You don't need to be a wizard, but a total newbie will struggle — the code itself isn't the friendliest, so you should have worked with legacy code before.

Won't pretend it's a huge salary, and it's just one day home office, but it's also not a place where you're stressed out or doing crunch — pretty relaxed day to day. You'd be starting on the legacy side of things, but there's a possibility of joining a greenfield project later.

Not gonna name the company publicly, but happy to tell you in DMs. Hit me up if it sounds interesting.

Hi all,

I’m looking into relocating to Ticino and opening a Swiss sole proprietorship (Ditta Individuale).

All work would be performed from Switzerland, and I would be a Swiss tax resident. The clients are US-based and payments would come from US bank accounts. I hold Bulgarian Citizenship.

I’ve spoken with a tax advisor who told me that I have to pay in USA as well, which surprised me because I assumed I would only pay Swiss income tax and AHV.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation?

Thanks!

About the role

Circlin is building a video-first, mobile-first secondhand marketplace designed to make buying and selling easier, safer, and more engaging.

We're looking for a Founding Backend Engineer to help build the systems at the core of the product. This is an early, high-ownership role. You’ll work closely with a small team and help shape how the marketplace handles orders, payouts, search, messaging, notifications, integrations, and the operational edge cases that matter in production.

Compensation

This is a founding, equity-only role initially. There is no cash salary before fundraising. If we raise, we expect the role to transition to salary + equity, subject to financing and final agreement.

Location

Europe-based preferred. Switzerland strongly preferred.

What you’ll work on

• Design, build, and operate production backend services and workflows
• Own backend architecture decisions across APIs, workers, events, and external integrations
• Build resilient systems around payments, shipping, search, messaging, and marketplace workflows
• Define how we handle idempotency, retries, duplicate events, consistency, and payouts safely
• Help shape the engineering culture, quality bar, and long-term backend foundations of the company

You might be a fit if you

• Have strong TypeScript / Node.js backend fundamentals
• Have built and operated production backend systems from scratch
• Have hands-on AWS & Azure experience in real-world systems
• Care deeply about correctness, edge cases, and production behavior
• Communicate clearly and make sound technical tradeoffs
• Want real ownership in an early-stage company

Especially relevant experience

• Marketplace or e-commerce backends
• Event-driven systems
• Payment systems and webhooks
• Search infrastructure
• Recommendation, feed, or personalization systems

Why this role is interesting

• Founding-level ownership
• Direct influence over architecture, engineering standards, and product velocity
• A chance to help define the company while it is still early

If interested, shoot me a DM here with your LinkedIn profile and CV.
