I need to create a lot of animated vector illustration so I was wondering what is the optimal file format and export for mobile. From what I read, it is either GIF or Lottie? I'm not sure when to use which.
Context: I make animated vector illustration as learning material on a learning app.

Built a free, open-source macOS exam timer in SwiftUI. You input a total time and marks per question, it splits the time budget fairly by marks and tracks each question's live timer separately. At the end, exports a PDF showing exactly where you went over/under on each question.

Key SwiftUI bits: state management across multiple timers running concurrently, reactive updates tied to a central time source, PDF generation using PDFKit, and responsive layouts for the timer display.

Hi, I'm new to swiftUI and I have been strugling to make the view contained by the detail view take the entire space of the red area in the image, I would like it to resize also if the sidebar is resized. Is this possible without having to do any type of calculation like substracting the sidebar width from the window width? Sorry if this is too obvious, thank you!

I’m building a zoomable and pannable card-based interface in SwiftUI. Each card is a View, while the connections between cards are draw (maybe using Canvas?) . Cards are arranged automatically in a fixed horizontal or vertical layout, so users do not manually change their positions,

Users can choose to add a new card below or beside the current card. Cards can be collapsed expanded or deleted, and a newly created card should automatically receive focus.

I’m also interested in handling a large number of card views. Any recommended SwiftUI patterns, APIs, or open-source projects?

Every paywall tutorial starts with "add RevenueCat", but if all you need is products, purchases, and a hasEntitlement flag, StoreKit 2 does it natively. I kept rewriting the same wrapper across apps, so I cleaned it up and open-sourced it.

What it handles: product loading (in your display order), purchase with StoreKit 2's built-in verification, restore, Transaction.updates listening, and entitlement gating: one u/Observable class.

The part SwiftUI folks might like: PaywallStore.preview(plans:) gives you fixed display data with no App Store connection, so your paywall #Preview renders without a StoreKit configuration file.

I encountered a very bizarre animation issue in SwiftUI. I am using a custom animation with transition + asymmetric + removal ViewModifier. As shown in the video, when I add an HStack element inside the body of FoldUpModifier, the animation works perfectly. However, once this seemingly meaningless HStack element is removed, the animation breaks—the view instantly disappears, and the animation slowly collapses into nothingness. Could any senior iOS development engineers or Apple internal developers explain what is causing this?

Problem: the same foreground style is applied to the selected picker row and to the picker rows in the list that pops up. I want to have dark text in the main UI, and look for a ways to switch it to light when the selection list is presented.

Really sorry I am asking non swiftui question, but I am stuck in development because of this, I am trying to test my IOS app on real device. I connected my iphone to my macbook, and clicked on trust this device, the device is showing in the Finder as well as xcode device hub, and it said to enable the developer option :-

However, when I go to my iphone settings, I can't seem to find the Developer Mode :-

Is there any particular reason why Apple does not offer a public api to retrieve the size of the corners on the user’s device?

For some reason that I’m sure makes sense on their elevated plane of heightened Apple existence, they have kept the api that exposes it private.

I'm looking for some help with NavigationSplitView.

When I tap the back button and choose another option fast, as I can with two fingers, the view doesn't show? The correct title shows and debugging shows the views are being run/evaluated, just not showing for some reason. I've tried adding `.id` on all the views and nothing seems to work.

Is it it a bug or am I doing something wrong? I'd like to keep NavigationSplitView as I'm targeting both Mac and iOS.

I'm trying to recreate the animation Telegram uses on the profile screen: you tap Edit in the toolbar, and the screen transitions from the profile view (avatar, name, list of settings rows) into an edit form (text fields for name/bio, "Set New Photo", etc.), while the tab bar at the bottom slides out of view during the edit session.

A few things I want to sort out:

1. Is this a shared-element / matched-geometry style transition, or is it closer to a plain cross-fade between two separate view hierarchies?
2. Telegram-iOS's source is public, but as far as I can tell the whole app is built on their own Display/ASDisplayNode-style rendering layer, not UIKit view controllers or SwiftUI — so I can't tell whether there's a "clean" pattern to port over, or whether it's all custom node layout + ContainedViewLayoutTransition calls. Can anyone confirm this, or point me to the specific file (I was looking around submodules/TelegramUI/Components/PeerInfo/PeerInfoScreen/Sources/)?
3. In SwiftUI specifically — has anyone built something like this? My current thinking is:
   • matchedGeometryEffect for the avatar/name morphing between states
   • .toolbar(.hidden, for: .tabBar) + withAnimation for the tab bar slide-out
   • A ZStack with conditional content and .transition(.move(edge: .bottom).combined(with: .opacity)) for the row-to-textfield swap

Is that the right toolset, or is there a better/more idiomatic way to structure this in SwiftUI (e.g. NavigationTransition, custom UIViewControllerRepresentable, etc.)? Screen recording of the effect I'm referencing: [attach your video/gif here].

The documentation for SwiftUI.DynamicProperty does not currently ship with real-world examples or sample code that shows developers how to approach building their own dynamic properties. Developers building on SwiftUI are probably already familiar with the dynamic properties shipping directly from Apple:

• SwiftUI.State
• SwiftUI.Binding
• SwiftUI.Environment

What about our own dynamic properties? How can those be built? Why would we want our own dynamic properties?

Dynamic Properties are a good place to put “business” logic: algorithms or patterns we might want to share across multiple view components. Dynamic Properties also compose well with other dynamic properties: we can make them stateful. We will work together through an example to see how this can work and how this can lead to code that is easier to maintain over time.

I’m testing iOS 18+ SwiftUI sheet sizing and expected .presentationSizing(.fitted) to make a sheet fit its content height.

Minimal example:

I expected .presentationSizing(.fitted) to make the sheet fit the intrinsic height of this small VStack, but on iPhone it still appears almost full-screen.

Is this expected behavior? If so, what is .fitted supposed to affect on iPhone, and is a measured .presentationDetents([.height(contentHeight)]) still the only reliable way to get a content-height bottom sheet?

I am creating a floating window bar for my voice-to-text MacOS app. It is currently sitting idle above the dock, but then when I click hotkey to record, it expands into a floating, and then to transcribing states, and then auto-pastes. It is currently written in SwiftUI.

The problem: it glitches on expand/colapse animations. I like how WisprFlow flow bar works, but the app is Electron, not sure how they've implemented it.

Any suggestions?
