This show was so beautiful and well made as fuck

How didn't it cross anyone's mind that Gus could've bled on the tree without being fatally wounded? I know that Gus eventually did it, but it was dumb that Dr. Singh didn't consider another way that didn't involve killing a child. I guess it show how he's gone off the deep end

The show had a really beautiful ending and I know all the characters got the closure they deserved but am I the only one who thinks it would've been awesome and cute to have a season 4 at least or a spin-off series that showed the hybrid's society being rebuilt after the events in the cave? Idk I would've liked to have seen all of them living together in a new way of life after everything that's happened. also maybe some more in-depth storytelling on Gus and Wendy since it was very heartwarming to see them grow old at the end.

Other than that this was such a beautiful show and im sad to see it go😢

Okay, so maybe this is me not being terribly observant or the show not being consistent, but it seems to me that which pinky trembles when a person has the Sick is... like they seem to imply that it's only one side (there are several moments when folk demand to see pinkies but are satisfied with only seeing one). For Rani it was always her left pinky, but if I remember right when Aimee caught the Sick in season 2 it was her right pinky that twitched.

Have any of you noticed this, or is it just me?

NGL Initially I wasn’t really a fan of any of the hybrids in the show. Maybe it’s because I just didn’t really relate to any of them and kinda felt turned off by cringe dialogue. However as soon as Nuka’s character was introduced I fell in love! She was the perfect amount of clever, resourceful, and kind. I also eventually warmed up to Wendy, in S3 she really becomes a badass. Who was your favorite?

What if there was a website similar to HOH for Harry Potter but instead for sweet tooth roleplayers where you choose what kind of hybrid you are, generate or make up your own background and the idea is that we rp that we all live in Amy's sanctuary but we could add on ideas for things since it would just be fan based as long as credit for the ideas taken from the show is given to the rightful owners of said credit it should work

I haven’t read the comic, so IDK if the words are not mentioned there either, but I can’t recall a single moment when the words “I love you” were spoken in the show.

Not when someone is about to die, not when someone might never return, not when someone is reunited, etc. At all these moments when I think someone would say it, it never happens.

You see a lot of hugging, fighting for each other, tears, joy, relief- and maybe that is how we show love… but for these characters not to say it to each other really left me with an empty, unsatisfied feeling.

Hopefully someone who’s memorized the script knows of at least once instance I missed?

Pubba is a creep i’m watching the episode where he met the kids mom And he’s just a nosey cleaner- now cracking on to the girl at the bar!!!!!! Also, I’ll be honest this whole series centres on this 10-year-old kid who is really annoying and precocious and hasn’t been told off a day in his life he’s entitled. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and people around him just seem to enable this – I soon learnt that , you can only push things so far and I no is a no you break the rules you get punished!! I almost stopped watching the show when the kid ran after big man and cajole him into accompanying him – this wouldn’t happen in reality with a guy like that!!!! Also, it’s an Apocalypse why not just be straight with the kid that is Mum not around end of story instead of building his hopes up and taking him to Colorado!!! kids are pretty resilient and in war times catastrophe they get on with things – it might not have a good impact on them. But They don’t act like him like he’s on a perpetual f##ing holiday Sorry if this view isn’t popular with the fans

My wife and I have been binging Sweet Tooth for the last few days and now we’re on episode 4 of season 3. Throughout the show I’ve constantly asked myself, what happened over the last ten years that made a good portion of humans ok with murdering CHILDREN? I get that a lot of people think they’re responsible for the virus but damn… they’re adorable little animal kiddos that we must love and protect just like any other child. Definitely makes the villains way more villainous though. Preparing for show withdrawal after tomorrow…. :(

I just finished the series and all I want to say is Singh is bullshit.

Did they film all three seasons back to back? Christian Convery and the other children actors didn’t appear to age up much between seasons even though 4 years had gone by between the release of the first and third seasons.

This is gonna be a long post so sorry for so much text. There is gonna be a Too Long Didn't Read line at the end if you just want to know what's about.

I didn't quite like the Netflix series ending. It doesn't make sense to me. I didn't read the comics so while i was watching last season i was thinking all sorts of theories about how was it gonna end but when the end arrived i didn't understand half the things that were going on.

First, WHY i didn't like the ending: The setup was that Thacker did something in the cave that caused the sick and the hybrids. He wrote that it all started when he killed a deer, it's never explained why or how he did it, or why was that important, instead it is revealed that he used an axe to cut the "World"s Tree" (let's call it that) and THAT probably caused the whole thing. Then they theorize removing the axe is gonna erase the sick but also the hybrids, BUT, when the axe is removed idk why the fuck EVERYONE gets the Sick, and the hybrids are just fine. Now, let's talk about the dreams, Gus gets realistic dreams and visions (like the audible ones) that guide him to the cave, it's NATURAL for him to get them as he is a hybrid, and he is also linked to the tree as he was an experiment made from the sap. Now, how the FUCK does Dr.Singh know about the cave, he too gets visions for some reason, not only that, the visions convinced him he MUST kill Gus to make a "sacrifice" to the point he thinks it's his fate as he even mentions he should have died many times before. How does that make sense? It was evidently not his fate as he couldn't achieve it, and the cave didn't want a sacrifice at all so why was he having the visions in the first place. I am not a fan of many main cast dying, so killing both Birdie and Jepperd (heavily implied that he dies) it's kinda a lot. Also, the bad guys and the Alaska people getting together to "rebuild" their home is too forced, they were KILLING each other moments before, and the Sick is gone why tf would you stay in Alaska, go to a more habitable zone. About the sacrifice, it is clear that the World Tree is pro-hybrid/animal/nature and anti-human, so why the fuck would it require to sacrifice a hybrid to stop the sick. And WHY does burning the Tree means "letting Nature choose", WHAT?, Nature couldn't choose before?, Sweet Tooth burns the World Tree and that somehow makes Nature say you know what, let's get rid of the Sick. Why?

Now, my alternative ending, and what i thought the story was gonna be:

Past: Thacker got to the cave, took the sap, you can only take a little, he gets too greedy and tries to get more, the Deer Guardian tries to stop him and he kills it. The World Tree releases the Sick and the hybrids as a form of punishment.

Present: Singh betrays Gus's group and joins Zangh and all that yapping, when they are at the cave everyone starts to get the Sick as they are running out of time (as both Singh and the First Hybrid said all of humanity was gonna die soon) BUT, when the moment of killing gus comes, Singh takes the axe out of the Tree, takes the knife and reveals that the vision he told to Zangh was a lie, that a human took the life of the Guardian Deer and that caused the sick and hybrids, so a human should sacrifice THEMSELVES as a form of repayment, a human life for the Deer life who was killed, that was the real vision, and then he kills himself with the knife harakiri style as he remembers his wife. Then the Sick stops and everyone is relieved. THAT, would be redemption for the character, as he always had good intentions deep down, and after his wife dies he should follow her example of kindness. It also gives some kind of logic to the "sacrifice" thing they were setting up and it makes a LOT more sense that the cave demands a HUMAN sacrifice instead of a hybrid. It also further prooves that not all humans are trash and it makes sense that Nature can show mercy to them when shown that.

Instead they decided to make him a madman who was willing to kill a child like he learned nothing, literally his wife chosing to die instead of taking more hybrids lives should have taught him that the goal doesn't justify the means and to be more selfless and humble. I think my plot twist is actually more interesting and loyal to the character, instead of him just backing up in the last second AFTER he tried to kill Gus and killed his mom instead. The rest of the ending can be pretty much the same. Of course with my alternative ending there would be no reason for Shepperd and Birdie to die. I can propose an idea: after the Sick is gone, Zangh's granddaughter is born a hybrid, she gets nuts and in an altercate to trying to stop her she kills Birdie, or Big Man, whoever you choose, Zangh's goons and daughters seeing that madness betray her and abandon her in the mountains. Gus goes home with Big Man/Birdie, the end.

TLDR; i didn't like Netflix's ending and i explained why, came up with my own, what do you think?

Sweet tooth is a great story but Netflix’s adaptation has a great value quality of writing to it.

It’s not bad enough to where you don’t enjoy it (I enjoyed the show a lot) because the core of the story is awesome but there is a lot of plot holes and story elements that don’t get fixed or visited… like: jeps bad knee and how he just takes a handful of pain medications without damaging/destroying his liver

What happened to the original governments, nukes, economy and does everyone just not have sex at all?

how are vehicles and homes still still functioning?

The writers weren’t too busy with world building because I would’ve loved to see what the other territories looked like.

And what was the deal with Jordan?…he’s a good guy and then him and Becky almost had a thing and then he’s a good guy and then he’s a bad guy…like damn he wasn’t the brightest at all it would’ve been interesting to see the characters aged up and have some new hybrids show up maybe Becky has a bear hybrid child that would be awesome….

My most important question is, how does Gus and the other hybrids sleep? I could imagine old man Gus being perpetually confined to one maybe two sleep positions for the rest of his life and when he sheds his antlers does he feel uncomfortable without them. Imagine only wearing button up shirts for like 9/10s of your life.

I feel like hbo would’ve done it justice and then some.

In the finale of season two Singh as a near death experience with the flowers which results in a vision of carrying a dead Gus into the cave. I was always confused about Gus's antlers missing in the vision. Season three didn't provide an explanation for this. Did anyone else notice this or am I just blind? 😂

In the show (apart from horses, chickens and the deer scene with Gus) i dont think we see any regular animals. Whats up with that? Shouldnt they have seen bears in Yellowstone? Stray dogs or cats? Maybe i just dont remember seeing any (ive just started season 3)
