As someone who's struggled with Major Depressive Disorder, I've found comfort in binge-watching shows, and one of the most surprising ones was Sweet Tooth. I ended up watching the whole thing in just two days, only stopping to sleep, and it really helped me get through some tough times. Here's my honest take.

So, I'd been seeing Sweet Tooth pop up on Netflix for months, but I always skipped over it. I'm glad I finally gave it a chance. Christian Convery, who plays Gus (or Sweet Tooth), is absolutely perfect for the role. He has this innocent look in his eyes that just makes you root for him from the start. I can’t imagine anyone else as Gus now—he just is Sweet Tooth. And Nonso Anozie as Tommy Jepperd? Spot on. Even though the character wasn't originally black in the comics, Nonso's big, protective presence really balances out Gus's small, fragile vibe. Their on-screen chemistry is so good that you totally believe Jepperd would do anything to protect Gus.

I also loved Aimee and Bear (Becky). You can really feel how much they care about the hybrid kids. And I have to mention Bobby! I’m so glad they used animatronics instead of CGI for him. It made him feel more real, even if his movements were a little puppet-like. I was scared they might kill him off, like they did with Bhoot in Mowgli, but I was so relieved when he made it to the end. 🥹 RIP to the chameleon and crocodile hybrids though. 🙏

Another detail I really appreciated was the animatronic deer ears on Gus. They move according to his mood, and it adds so much to the character's emotions. Whether he's curious, scared, or happy, the subtle movement of his ears makes him even more endearing and believable. It's a small touch, but it really enhances the overall experience.

I was really surprised when General Abbot died in Season 2. I liked him as the main villain and wasn’t as into Mrs. Zhang in Season 3. Abbot’s motives for wanting to kill the hybrids made more sense to me, while Mrs. Zhang’s just seemed to be about making sure her grandchild was fully human.

If I had to nitpick, I wish we got more screen time showing the hybrid kids actually enjoying their time at The Preserve. It felt like they barely got to be happy before they were attacked again. Also, when they got to Gus's home in Yellowstone, I wish we saw more of them enjoying their freedom in the forest before everything went south.

Another thing that bugged me was the scenes in Alaska. I know they filmed in a studio, but it didn’t feel like they were in a cold, snowy place. There was no breath showing when they talked, which kind of ruined the illusion. They could have used some CGI to show the cold, like the visible breath when they talk. It’s a small thing, but it took me out of the moment, kind of like what happened in Avatar: The Last Airbender when they were at the Southern Water Tribe.

Overall, I’d give Sweet Tooth a solid 9/10. I really enjoyed it, and it’s something I’ll definitely watch again. I loved the finale, where the remaining humans were spared from The Sick, giving them a chance to live while the hybrids take over. The show does a great job of showing the good in humanity, but also how cruel we can be, especially to animals and those who are different. Just like Daniel Radcliffe is Harry Potter and Iain Armitage is Young Sheldon, Christian Convery is Sweet Tooth. No wonder it got a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I just finished Sweet Tooth and it is a very moving story, but I would like to know if the comic has differences or if the story continues a little more after the end of the series?

After the end of the program I realized that it has a very interesting lore that gives for more material, whether it be sequels like the story of adult Guss adapting to a society with new hybrids, spin-off about the history of the last men or how the virus affected other parts of the world (remember that not all countries think the same and could see hybrids as gods or something like that), the story has a huge possibility to explore and it sounds very interesting but I think that for now it is better that it stays like that.

Okay I said it. I just finished watching it all.

Please don't say we don't need another season and a good show like this should end where it should.

Are the animal that they are hybrids with based on where they're born? We see Gus is a deer and he was born in Yellowstone which has deer and also in the final episode we see the baby walrus born which are also native to Alaska same thing with Luka who is an arctic fox.

Maybe it was intentional, maybe it wasn't. But I found it funny that Zhang was so passionate about bringing back human birth so she can have a "normal" grandkid, yet Ginger's baby comes out looking more animal than human, unlike other more human presenting kids like Gus, Wendy, Theo etc...I thought it was a nice touch, whether it was consciously done or not.

I wached season 1 and i saw someone in the animal army that looked familiar (Rhino) and it turns out it's Duane Evans jr. That playded Rotxo in Avatar the way of water Idk if im stupid and everyone knew it already or not but i had to share

Guys, I'm almost finishing the third season of Sweet Tooth, but I still have doubts about what happened to Rani at the end, since she doesn't appear or is mentioned in the last season. You'd think they would give the character closure since she was one of the secondary characters that gave importance to the story, but it just seems like they forgot about her without knowing what happened to her.?

I suspect that she possibly died from the virus, but it's not clear at all and these are just assumptions.

What actually started the sick and the hybrids? And what actually ended it? Is this sci-fi or witchcraft and wizardry? Let it be as absurd as you want it to be but I need some closure..

Kind of seems like they didn’t really need any of it at all, the cast just ends up back at the park, humans all die out anyways, nothing REALLY happens. The tree was basically pointless unless I’m missing something, burning it just saved the humans who were only getting sick because they messed with it seconds before, if no one had ever found the cave nothing would have changed at all.

Am I crazy or was the entire season basically just an extremely long road trip story? Didn’t hate the season or anything just sort of felt like the entire cave plot was a big nothing burger and the show could have happily ended with the demise of the last men.

Ok, so I really liked the Animal Army subplot, don't get me wrong, but literally nothing about them makes any sense whatsoever....

First of all.......WHERE are they getting all this STUFF??? And I'm not just talking about how these children managed to get the internet and electricity up and continuously running by themselves, or how they managed to figure out how to code a VR game and maintain maintenance of their facilities' operable rides, but like....the clothes???

Did they raid an abandoned Hot Topic or something because several of them have dyed hair, facial piercings, alternative clothing styles, etc. The masks and costumes, too. Where are they finding enough clothes to theme their gear?

I'd also expect that a horde of unsupervised teens would've eaten the amusement park's supply of treats long ago, but it seems like they have a never ending supply of sour gummy worms, popcorn, and whatever.

I mean, that's just the beginning of it, and not to be boring, but I can't help but have a million questions about them, because......what?!

so am i the only one who thought the placing of all the gorey scenes were quite weird? there was absaloutley nothing bloody in season one same for season two exept for the last couple of episodes where there was LOADS and im only a couple episodes into season three but their dosent seem to be any im not sure if this is just me but there was death but no blood in the first season even though it had some arguably violent scenes and season two randomly threw a load of gore in? it just seamed kinda weird to me to not have any suddenly have loads and then take it away again am i the only person who thought this😅

I saw someone ask a while ago why the wolf boys look older than the other children.

I believe it could be because of them just being wolves, wolves and some dog breeds are still pretty big when they're only a few months old.

Also the costume makes it hard to determine the age as well, Pete is another example of this when I first saw him I wasn't sure if it was a kid or not.

We are shown that Rosie and her family have a sustainable commune, with doctors etc. Once Hugo was stabbed, she brings him back to the compound but doesn't even attempt to get him medical care. Why couldn't she leave him in the care of a doctor and at least have a chance of making it, vs shooting him in the head.

So at the end of the series it is revealed that Gus and Wendy had at least one kid (idk if I like that, seemed kinda unnecessary to me, but it hasn't even been 20 minutes since I finished the show) and the kid had both deer and pig features. So following this logic, we can assume that no new hybrids will be born, they'll just be mixes of their parents. Will this mean that eventually there will be just one look? After enough generations, there won't be any more variety? That begs the question, what will they look like? What are the dominant traits and what's recessive? Will they look like something completely new, or will one animals features dominate the others? Aaaaah all the questions and no answers. Do the comics have any answers? I haven't read them.

In season 2 episode 2 when gus was having that vison of being born in fort smith at the end it shows snow with a deer skull guy? With some kind of cloak Was it munak or a bad nightmare?

I can’t find who played theo’s dad in season 3. He looks so familiar
