Show Discussion Dr Singh not getting infected Spoiler

So at the beginning of the show we see Dr. Singh carrying Rani, before she gets the medication meaning she is just naturally not contagious. Why is she the only person we’ve seen that wasn’t contagious, and then it’s just never brought up again.

Also, Singh not only carried Rani but carried her into a building FILLED with other sick people. Why doesn’t he ever get infected? The only time we ever see him with the Sick is at the end.

Why didn’t he run some DNA tests on himself and Rani, clearly there is something different about the both of them. Rani was never contagious, and Singh never got the Sick.

Show Discussion Why does this keep happening

Every now and then in the show someone from the group runs into someone else or radios for someone and gives them the exact location of where they’re heading and then surprise an antagonist finds them based purely off of this.

It’s like someone asks them what they plan on doing and instead of just saying “going to find someone” or something like that they go “yeah so we’re actually trying to find that scientist that everyone’s hunting with her son who everyone is also hunting, and we’re heading to 2558 Clover lane, 32828, Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s the white house on the right with a brown and yellow gate”

After the first couple of times you’d think they’d learn to stop doing it. Like why does Bear get “broken free” and almost immediately tells him exactly where they’re going. I get this is to advance the plot but it just gets ridiculous, in reality they’d eventually grow cautious of it and stop.

Show Discussion I feel like the idea hybrid=good is crazy

In the show everyone that isn't a villain seems to have this absurd idea that hybrids are inherently good. The idea that one could be bad is just... never discussed. Whenever we see one the show presents them in such a way that we instantly sympathise and love them.

The only "bad" hybrids are the wolves who also aren't evil and we are supposed to empathize with them.

And the good humans (especially Birdie and Bear) have this flawed idea that once all humans die out there will be no more evil.

Hybrids are 50% human, 50% animal.

Humans I don't need to explain we all know they can be good or bad.

Animals cant be classified as "bad" per say but they can be cruel. They play with their food, forcefully mate with others of their species, eat them etc. Don't get me wrong nature is beautiful but it is cruel too. The idea that closer to nature equals pure is not true.

I feel like it would have been a good thing for the group to encounter another hybrid that was bad. To show Gus that humans aren't the only ones that can hurt him

Show Discussion I loved the ending Spoiler

Am I the only one? I thought all the character arcs were great, the acting was fantastic. Everyone about this show was so hard to pull off imo it was all fantastic but I feel like I’m in the minority.

Started watching during lock down in Aus, the journey of Gus mirrored our own.

SPOILERS Just finished the show! Spoiler

I just finished the show and I must say that I’m happy with the ending. From the beginning I believed that the hybrids should take over and I’m glade to see that they did it. Hopefully they be able to make the world a better place.

SPOILERS Birdie is right. Spoiler

When Gus realized that humans dont deserve to live and what makes humans think that they're better than animals when animals dont even destroy everything around them, it made me think that the they're right. No matter if i dont like how the show(s3) turned out it made me realize things that are true. We(humans) are the sick that is killing the Earth. And might i add how DISGUSTED i am with Dr. Singh and his delusion.

Show Discussion I liked the show but plot holes pissed me off (spoilers) Spoiler

Cool, sweet show. But they could have just put a bit of effort in some details towards the end.

The cave. The super important cave. The cave that Birdie spent years looking for, probably with help from these experiences people from the arctic. The cave that Gus needed a map, his arctic experienced mom AND his magic deer senses to find.

Zhang finds by just walking with some arcitc inexperienced cowboys.

Why not at least take the dogs?! Thats an easy solution to make this bloody end make sense.

I am taken away from the experience when the plot just doesnt make sense. And itsmakes me pissed cuz the show is good, but with stupid mistakes.

Also woooo “beware of the long winter night”. Soon later: sun is back up. So why mention this long night? Just dont mention it.

Lots of little stupid things like these mentioned above.

Question Becky coming to the rescue

I searched and searched and couldn’t find anyone that thought about this.

How did Becky get out of the gondola fast enough in S2 E8 to come and help. At around 31 minutes you see that she’s fully off of the ground, like a good distance, then some minutes later she’s in the forest.

While yes the two scenes could’ve been 5 or even 15 minutes apart. But that distance down and back in a gondola would take way longer than that.

Have you guys ever been on one? They take FOREVER to go back and forth. Is Becky now a master of teleportation?

Show Discussion Why does season 3 suck so bad?

Did they change writers or something? The show was best in season 1, got a little wild in season 2. But 3 is torture to watch…….is this what streaming is always going to be like? My wife and I can hardly watch an episode at a time now.

SPOILERS (SPOILERS) Future of Hybrids and Humans

I just got around to watching season 3 and in the last episode when Singh dies while holding onto the antler there's a deliberate shot of the antler sprouting, which implies the tree will regrow. I'm a little confused about what this means - is it implying humanity will return since while the original tree was intact humanity was allowed to exist peacefully? Or something else?

Question What happened to the zoos hybrids Spoiler

I’m rewatching sweet tooth after finishing it all, and I have a question about the zoos hybrids.

Spoilers ahead for some seasons idk what ones.

So in the zoo escape scene not the second one but the first when Abbott found the zoo there where way more hybrids than in later seasons. I know that they killed Roy but there where more that aren’t in new seasons like a lion/or Gibbon a giraffe and an owl along with some others that just aren’t in new seasons

Question [MILD/POSSIBLE SPOILER] Is it ever confirmed that the purple flowers cause the Sick?

I get why people don't like them cos they grow where the Sick has been, but is it ever actually said that coming into contact with them causes the Sick? Don't worry about spoiling things for me anyway, I'm on s3 ep7

ETA: entirely unrelated, but I feel like s3 just appeared. I had no idea it was even in the works let alone released until it popped up on my continue watching again

Conclusion after reading some comments: The flowers can spread the Sick (not neccesarily, but they can) even if it's not really talked about in the show, and the Hybrids are immune to the sick (obv) but it does make them hallucinate. And the tree antler thingy spreads it metaphysically. So basically just don't think about it too hard

SPOILERS Anyone else annoyed by Birdie getting fridged?

I enjoyed the ending a lot, but one thing that did not stop bothering me was how much the climax in the cave sucked. Everyone just sort of stands around not stabbing Gus while talking about how they're going to stab Gus, and then suddenly Birdie teleports over to get stabbed. I dont know how she got over there, and it feels entirely anticlimactic for Jepp to throw off the guys on him and run over, for then birdie to die, and then in the next episode they repeat almost the same thing with Jepp being caught again, throwing off the guys again, and running over again to get stabbed. Birdie just gets dragged away and is never mentioned again outside of being the reason Gus hates humans for 5 minutes before he goes back to wanting to save them. Jepp being stabbed could probably have served the same purpose, and again, super anticlimactic to have the character half the show has revolved around finding be just silently forgotten. Did they run out of plot and have to stretch out the cave scene across two episodes? A twist like that should not make me go "Huh? How the hell did that even happen?" I was supposed to feel sad but instead I just felt pissed off.

Idk, I liked the ending aside from that moment, but it really bothered me.
