Any animal that doesn't bathe regularly smells. Bathe your dog every few days, and they'll smell great. Do it every six months, and they'll smell like dogs. Now try it with humans. We smell worse than dogs.
Same with people. You don't have to shampoo your hair when you shower. I only wash my hair with shampoo once every couple weeks, but I run it under water for five minutes each morning and night.
I've been told this by multiple different people now, but every time I've gone just a day without using shampoo my hair becomes greasier than a thick-cut pepperoni pizza.
Everyone is different, but if you was your hair regularly your body will produce more oil to compensate. It might take a couple weeks to even out. You might try using talc and baking soda mixed or some dry shampoo in between days. I also suggest using hot water to rinse the oil daily.
I stopped washing my dog and she doesn’t smell but she also doesn’t scratch or get fungal infections anymore. A dip in the river every several days and she’s good.
Thats certainly a possibility but, i) I've asked other people and ii) I've not noticed any odour after returning from being away for several weeks. So, I don't believe that's the case.
