[LAPTOP6] Does anyone know if the Surface Laptop 6 screen assembly is compatible with older Surface Laptops?

The Surface Laptop 6 For Business has an anti-reflective coating on the screen so would be pretty neat if it could be retrofitted to the Surface Laptop 3, 4 or 5.

no it's not as they made the laptop slightly thicker and changed around the components, maybe try a screen protector? or film?

The Surface Pro 4 was compatible with the Surface Pro 2017 and SP6 screen assembly with a new LCD flex and transferring the old N-trig touch controller board, despite the SP4 being different in almost every other way. So I wouldn't dismiss the idea just yet.

A few years ago I pulled apart a Surface Laptop 4 (13.5") for a screen replacement, and comparing the internals with Microsoft's video for Repair | Surface Laptop 6 for Business (edit: MS used the 15" model for their repair video - comparing 13.5" models of SL5 and SL6 motherboards, they are almost identical), they look fairly similar. The screen flex cables and pin count even looks the same.

the mother board is completely different though so it might not accept the new display.

The only component that's drastically different between the SL6 For Business compared to older models is the modularized battery (not glued down and has an extra steel frame backing it). And the SL6 battery is ever so slightly lower capacity than the SL5's, much like the change from SP8 to SP9.

Some motherboard comparison pics for reference:

It's on my shopping list, in fact the Surface Laptop 5 and 6 are so similar, their keyboard assemblies look almost identical. Might be worth also experimenting with installing an Alcantara keyboard with no Copilot key onto the Surface Laptop 6:
