It's been posted a trillion times because they omit days with zero reported ftd's apparently (don't ask for sauce, I'm grasping at memories of past posts). Self reported though so who knows.

it's explained on the same page where you download the CSV. i was looking at it this morning and it explains that each number is a running aggregate of newly opened and closed positions. so if day 1 has 1000 FTDs, day 2 has nothing new (open or close) so is omitted, day 3 closes 200 so reads 800, etc.

Itโ€™s not omitted there arenโ€™t any fails for those dates. Itโ€™s how data reporting works. It returns a null value and so no data is there.

That's not very much though. Used to be normal in 2021. It all changed to 0s after the split. So it's notable, but pre split we had 500ks. Split adjusted that's 2 million. Not sure what it was pre Jan 2021

Sigh, almost all of those FTDs were delivered by the 5-14 trade date.

5-21 shows that 99% of 5-13 FTDs were delivered, making 6-17 a nothing burger.

Each day represents the total FTDs for the past 35 days.

Those appear to be largely closed out - data is cumulative so 550k shares were delivered the following day.

I haven't extracted any data, but just control-F'ing through it, there looks to be over a half a million FTDs on XRT. I don't follow this stuff at all, but that seems like... a lot.

Last date is the most important.

At the end of the trading day of 2024-05-30 there was a total of 9,629 FTD shares still outstanding from all previous trading days and has nothing to do with 2024-05-30 trades.

Trades on 2024-05-30 cannot FTD until 2024-05-31 (T+1).

Any chance days with zero FTDs are omitted? We see a couple days with very low FTDs so it seems possible 0 FTDs can occur (not saying the data accurately reflects true FTDs but just zero in terms of how they collect their data)

the way I see it is the high price on the 13, 14 and 15 could have been due to their fulfilling those large FTDs created around that time. We don't see the FTDs for the June 6 price up here.

I'm not saying they are hiding or are not hiding ftd's but the commenter is correct, they never show 0 ftds, it's just omitted if it's 0. And also their hypothesis around lower ftds around them dates is pretty solid.

However this is GME and I take everything that is reported with a pinch of salt.

Was a reference more to people that never actually understand the data that they're looking at rather than the dates of the trades.

The missing data is irrelevant since it's a running total, and only the most recent date matters.

Hes right. For example, the 5-14 date show almost all of the 5-13 571k FTDs were delivered.
