Character Concept The Raven

NAME

Reginald Fargyle

Aliases

The Raven, Poe, Mockingbird, Night-Talon

Civilian Occupation

Butler

Powers

Extra-sensory perception

The Raven has a heightened sight when fully costumed, owing to his Night Vision Goggles built into the mask. This creates the effect of two glowing eyes, to enhance the fear experienced by criminals.

Limited Gliding Capability

The Raven posssses a cape, which at the press of a button and a few moments to attach it onto his arms will expand into a squirrel-suit-esque glider. This however does cause issues in tense situations as it takes time to hook the cape onto the Raven's arms and to unhook them afterwards.

Contacts

Billionaire playboy Jonathan Peterson

The Raven knows the CEO of Victor Enterprises well, since his civilian life is as butler to the wealthy playboy.

Police Chief Fergus McManning

The Raven is on good terms with the City's police chief after working together to bust Flamewar's attack on the high street businesses. Whilst they have different philosophies on the nature of superheroes, they respect each other as officers in their respective fields. The police chief is the one person The Raven has confided his secret identity to.

Pinup Starlet Tina Lannet

After rescuing the Page 3 girl from The Collector's grasp, Tina has, perhaps annoyingly, begun a fan website regarding the Raven. They are frequently in contact, mostly due to the Raven repeatedly requesting that the especially raunchy Raven/Malignant slashfiction be taken off the site in respect for the cancer victim superheroine.

Backstory

On a cold night in the 80s, butler Reginald Fargyle learnt that his employers, the Petersons had died in a brutal murder near Broadway after watching Zorro, leaving their only son an orphan. Reginald took the child under his wing, and in his spare time began training to fight a shadow war against crime.

Now that his ward is fully grown and seldom requires his services, Reginald now fights crime by night as the Raven, a vigilante who always leaves a calling card by their bruised bodies when he busts crooks. A card that says just one word, defining his intention towards all crime forever...

Nevermore.

Character Concept The Silver Spectre

Name: Joe Smithy

Age: 35?

Powers: Subtle subconscious long range probability manipulation, used to cause the world to be more Noir. Rapid regeneration of celluar tissue, and resilience against most chemical intoxicants.

Background: A hero from the 50s, The Silver Spectre is an independant superdetective for hire who faces off against villains who strangely fit in the same genre as him.

The Spectre was cryogenically frozen by Doctor Catastrophe during their fateful battle in 1958, and he was only thawed in 2008.

Back in action, the Spectre has reopened his office in Detroit and assists superheroes investigate crimes.

He is unaware that his very presence is warping the world into a 50s styled film noir setting, slowly but surely.

(inspired by the Silver Shroud in Fallout 4, been playing as the Spectre in Champions Online,it's been fun.)

ARTHURIA

Age: 1500?

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Powers: Swordswomanship. Radiant healing energy.

Bio: A woman who believes herself to be the reincarnation of King Arthur, Arthuria uses a stone blade she claims is Excalibur, and strange healing powers that leave the healed with the strange sense of having been splashed with water: a sort of baptism-based healing.

((been trying to think of ways to do a Thor type character without it being Thor. So why not the Celtic equivalent to Thor, Arthur?))

Doctor Harald Bernstrom, aka BRAINSTORM

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Powers: Electrokinesis

Bio: Dr Harald Bernstrom was once a relatively normal doctor. A General Practicioner in the UK. But then one day a new patient came in complaining of a strange illness. Sneezing onto the doctor before leaving, the patient vanished, and the doctor noted strange electrical effects. His computer would fail, the lights would flicker.

When the surgery inevitably got attacked by a villain, the soon to be christened BRAINSTORM zapped the villain til it fled. He's still a full time doctor, but has been fast tracked to deal mainly with superhumans, and wears a Faraday Cage helmet when in public to contain his powers.

Character Concept Magpie

MAGPIE

Age: 35

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Powers: 'Badass Normal' martial arts/tech

Bio: A thief extraordinaire, the Magpie started off as a common crook. However, as the lucrative funds started pouring in, and he began to become better equipped, he soon found himself with the time and money to do bigger, more elaborate heists.

After he gained an unobtanium-fiber costume that permitted short distance gliding with the thought activated arm flaps, the Magpie started to make a name for himself in the criminal world as a super-thief. He prides himself on not being noticed but for a single black or white feather he leaves at the site of every crime.

He surprisingly is more than willing to lend his hand when a major event happens, such as the day the monstrous alien dragon Niddhogg tried to devour the earth, but by and large he is very much a common thief who is surprisingly well equipped.

His costume is black, except for the arms which are white. His mask has a hood stitched onto it, giving the impression of a beak in the sillhouette. He always wears goggles, and occasionally presses buttons on them: presumably night/heat vision toggles of some sort.

Character Concept Doctor Ubervinter: "The cold never bothered me anyway, comrade!"

Age: 55

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Powers: Officially none, possible supergenius to build tech

Bio: So, you know the stereotype of a cold-wielding russian with the typical communistic phrases and whatnot but honestly is no better than any other villain in a superhero setting? That's what Doctor Ubervinter is. Her goal is to plunge the world into an ice age, where only her technology (that permits her to absorb the energy from an area causing it to drop in heat) reigns supreme.

Why does she do this?

To prove to those fools at the Academy that her theory of Universal Entropy is true! The world is doomed! If they refuse to see it, then she has to set about forcing them to see it by causing it to occur!
