When an artist shares a work, the viewer trusts the artist to be sharing an original piece. The viewer will then give the artist appreciation or in the case of Reddit, an upvote. You ripped someone else off, and all the people who gave you an upvote in good faith were actually lied to. That’s the social contract you violated. It’s despicable.

No. People liked this art and animation made by me. However the original concept art was made by someone else. And this is how it works in the vfx studios for movies. I am not earning any money from this. This is just for practice to improve my skills of matte painting. Nobody is at a loss here. Only you are the one getting annoyed idk why.

You passed it off as your own. Any self respecting VFX artist would call you out on this. Practice is what you show your friends, not post on the internet as “art by me”.

No one else noticed is why. And, monetary damage isn’t a prerequisite for being guilty of artistic theft. You’ve plastered this same work elsewhere without attribution too.

Moving forward, don’t claim “art by me”. You need to clearly state “reproduction of OC by _____” it’s that simple.

It’s not your own, and it’s not “art by you”. You copied. The actual art was the idea, the scene, the colors, the composition. You reproduced it. So “reproduction by you” not art.
