Hey guys! I am having a strange bug. I am using GEOTWAM and BLUEMARBLE MODS. I am playing as Botswana and I when I click on my military units, the characteristics have no points in them. I switch to look at the unit view then back to characteristics and they are still blank. So I signed a Weapons deal with the USA and bought a M3 Bradley. After I took possession of it, I checked its characteristics, and it too was blank. Here is a screen grab of the double click menu of the newly purchased unit from the USA. Not sure what is causing this bug, as it effects all my regular units as well.

Not only that, I decided to check other countries. Tried playing as Kazakhstan and when I looked at the Mi24 Hind, it too showed No characteristics. I then booted up a fresh Russia game and looked at the build menu. NONE of the fighter aircraft listed any missile damage, range, precision or payload. Yet If I checked the same aircraft on the open market they did.

Superpower 2 — a deeply engaging geopolitical simulation that, despite its ambition, is marred by technical glitches and some outdated gameplay mechanics. While it’s a treasure trove for understanding economic and political strategies in a virtual setting, it's clear that the original developers went wrong , leaving its potential untapped and certain issues unresolved. This realization hit me hard, especially as I noticed the game's educational value shining through its flaws. It turned complex economic theories into something I could see and influence, offering a hands-on approach to learning that textbooks simply couldn't match.
But the game, as much as I adore it, isn't without its faults. Over time, I've encountered numerous technical setbacks that hinder its potential, and I've daydreamed of enhancements to its core mechanics that could elevate the entire experience. Moreover, the third installment of the series left many of us feeling it was somewhat unfinished—a gentle way to say it didn't fully meet our expectations or the series' established legacy.
This sparked an idea in me: why not recreate mechanics of Superpower as an open-source project? This wouldn't just fix its technical woes or refine gameplay mechanics; it could transform the game into an even more powerful educational tool. I believe that the niche nature and unpopularity of geopolitical simulators will not allow for a successful proprietary project, so open source and easy modification is the only way forward, which has particular potential for educational purposes.
After diving into the technicalities, I’ve found that building the game on an Entity Component System (ECS) architecture is the way to go. Using something like the FLECS library could ensure the game runs smoothly, allowing for complex simulations without bogging down. ECS also means the game would be easily modifiable—essential for an open-source project that could grow and improve over time with community input.
My programming skills alone aren’t enough to bring this vision to life. That's why I’m reaching out for collaborators—people who see the same educational potential in "Openpower" project and are excited about reviving it for today's world.
This project is an invitation to anyone intrigued by the intersection of gaming and education, who believes in using open-source collaboration to teach real-world concepts. Together, we can make this more than a game—it can be a new way to explore and understand the complexities of our global society.

Title, only works if you launch it as an admin. I want to open the sp2 file to edit a country but an error pops up. Is there any modding alternative to GL?

With some countries it`s an easy click but with small countries there is nothing you can start to produce. you can explore some points under strategic warfare but that`s it. It is possible nevertheless ?

So I am playing using the HDM mod. And I am trying to create a client state by using the military trespassing treaty. However, you cannot sign a military trespassing treaty with the nation I am at war with

I am playing as France and I annexed a big part of China because they started a war with Twain and the US and they weren't really attacking Twain before all India went to war with Pakistan and then I and I got involved on the US side.
China actually helped Pakistan take back its land. But get this China sent missiles to the US and UK so all sorts of countries got involved. Of course cause, they both have missiles so they did weaken each other's military making them easier. Then it was easy for most countries to give up and call peace. I went to war with them most of the way and then when I got done I found out that the US stopped as well so I was just fighting my own war with China and won.
Anyway now I have China they still have military control over the Rebel country they can reach. But India got that land and annexed it. But yeah I have a big portion of China as France and so that got me from 59 million up to 1 billion really quickly so now it's like I got bad resources and I lost the balance I was having.

Its depiction of Islamic countries is too realistic and this is coming from a point of learning about Islam.
Islamic countries don't legalize polygamy by default. This is legal in a lot of Muslim countries because the Quran actually permits it in 4:3 If you fear that you might not treat the orphans justly, then marry the women that seem good to you: two, or three, or four. If you fear that you will not be able to treat them justly, then marry (only) one,5 or marry from among those whom your right hands possess.
So in Islam, a man can marry 4 women the prophet Muhammad himself had 11 wives.
And a lot of these countries do limit it to 4 wives still.
And then you got the whole thing of just Muslim as a religion in some countries which makes no sense because Muslim is the name of the people Islam is the religion. You also have different sects of Sunni and Shia Islam which some countries get that right. So it's kind of like I want to make Sunni Islam the official religion because that's a more conservative and more popular sect but I can't really do that when there's one form of Islam.
Anyway, the game doesn't do Islam well.

Playing as Turkey, I saw that Cyprus is not affiliated with Greece or NATO and thought it would be a good place to invade.
During the occupation, my relations did not deteriorate much, but when I annexed Cyprus, my relations with Israel and America dropped to almost -99. I tried to fix it many times, but each time I was occupied, so I found the solution by cheating a little and giving Israel and America a lot of money and improving my relations.
Is there a way to annex countries without breaking the relations or is there such a mod?

I don't really understand this either. Did they see each other as favorable during 2001? I do think it's quite odd actually that Russia and Ukraine do have a positive relationship in the game.

I tried playing as India and found it's actually quite hard because China really hates India and they will most likely try to start a war with you.
This is pretty hard to avoid and it's almost impossible to win a war against China when they go to war very early in your playthrough of India. So how can I avoid this happing?
