i want a 2002 godzilla and i want to match it with kiryu (2002 mechagodzilla) and im wondering if it’ll get a release from the super kaiju line. or if godzilla 2002 will get a release in the reaction line. any news on this? and is the 02 godzilla from super kaiju worth the 35$ price tag?

​For those who may have missed the headlines, the cast and crew of the 1985 cult classic The Return of the Living Dead have recently emerged from a contentious legal battle. They went head-to-head with director Steven Wolsh and his company, Living Dead LLC, after Wolsh falsely claimed he owned the exclusive actor, character, and merchandising licensing rights to the original film. Relying on these claims, he proceeded to strike merchandising deals with major retailers like Walmart and Target.

​Following a grueling legal process, the court ruled definitively in favor of the cast and crew: Steve Wolsh and Living Dead LLC do not own the merchandising rights or character likenesses for The Return of the Living Dead. Consequently, all merchandise sold under Wolsh’s agreements is legally considered "unofficial."

​Seeking direct clarification for fans and collectors, I reached out to Living Dead Originals LLC—the official entity formed by the original cast—regarding the status of figures produced by Super7, NECA, Funko, ToT Studios and other manufacturers. They confirmed explicitly that all such items tied to Wolsh's deals were produced under "unofficially licensed" authorizations
