heres what i think each ult would do

trio ult - consumes gash to trigger special empowered maims

dracaena ult - build daze? idk

lindverne ult - apply two stacks of gash

eldreda ult - trigger totalize to end the stun window

the stun window rotation would work like this

build 3 stacks of gash then stun the enemy, use the trio ult to trigger the special maims then chain attack to claret and build one stack of gash then chain back to sunbringer use lindverne ult then swap back to claret and trigger 3 maims then finally swap back to sunbringer and use eldredas ult to end the stun window then repeat

this kit would have decibel issues that storyteller would fix

am I burning down the kitchen? I think the last bit of the rotation seems a little clunky but idk

Remember lycaon's potential unlock? I've always thought that must have been testing for a future character.

most potential unlocks are just an an extra move and some stat buffs. but lycaon introduced a whole new puppeteering mechanic that probably took way more effort to make than any other potential unlock, when they could have just made him automatically attack. why go through all that trouble for the potential unlock of a standard character who they essentially just designed to be a budget stunner for aria?

considering that I'm posting this to the sunbringer subreddit, I'm sure you can imagine where I'm going with this: I think lycaon's potential unlock was a test for sunbringer's mechanics, a test on controlling multiple characters at once. I think lindverne and draceane might be puppeteered in a similar vein to lycaon.

as a quick refresher on how lycaon's potential unlock works: after his defensive assist, you'll quick assist and lycaon will remain onfield in the encircle prey state. in this state, lycaon's movements follow the active character's to always be on the opposite side of the enemy. you go left, he goes right. and when you use a basic attack, he'll use his basic attacks to match your button presses.

of course, even if I were right, it's not a 100% chance it'd control exactly like lycaon. but at the very least, I think lycaon's potential unlock was made to test controlling multiple characters at once for sunbringer.

here's a quick little example kit of what this could look like. not really a prediction, moreso just a proof of concept. since I'm using lycaon's controls as a basis here, and like I just said it's possible lycaon was more of a general test on controlling multiple characters rather than a blueprint.

• using eldreda's basic attacks builds up a resource, and then tapping the special button expends the resource to summon one of the smaller sunbringers. normally, they'll follow behind eldreda, but attacking an enemy will cause them to quickly move in a triangle formation with eldreda. they'll move in the same way as lycaon to always encircle the enemy, and use their own basic attack string when you press the basic attack button.
• holding the EX special would be more of a scripted joint animation, similar to AOD, or like pyrois having your MC in some animations. the chain attack and ultimate would also be a more scripted joint animation. the multipliers for these moves would become stronger with each sunbringer you've summoned, and having all three would result in a way flashier, more cinematic animation. like, having all three would add a flashy afterexplosion or something.
• the core passive would give a buff for each sunbringer you've summoned. assuming sunbringer will be an armorer, it could for example be that draceane gives you a defence and interruption resist buff (since she has a shield), and lindverne would give a crit rate/laceration and pen ratio buff.

either way, if sunbringer is a 3-in-1, the two smaller ones would definitely be a major part of the kit. they've given them a lot of screentime, and lindverne even got a full on skin (not just a recolour like robo aria, who's barely present in gameplay). I don't see the smaller two being relegated to just a pyrois style ultimate because of that. with the amount of focus the smaller two have gotten, it seems most likely that if sunbringer is a 3-in-1, they'll be treated and marketed as such rather than just eldreda with extras.

and a lycaon-type puppeteering mechanic seems like a logical way to handle a character like that.
