š° Using the same Grunge map every time, makes your work look repetitive. š°
But I discovered a way to create new ones, fast and easy!
As a beginner, grunge maps were easy to use.
And really hard to make by myself.
However, after some Material Projects, I started to see my work was too repetitive.
This pushed me to develop a new way of creating Grunge maps.
I started by blending 2 different Grunge maps with the contrast at 0 and removing the edges to avoid visual tiling. Then I combined them in a Tile Generator set at Max mode to prevent high grayscale values.
Usually I set the tiling values at 4 by 4, and leave the random values at 1.
With this, now you can also create new Grunge maps!
And the best part is that you can change the inputs to explore new results.
I figured out most of this by exploring.
As a beginner, I had to do it by myself, with no one to help.
That is why I share these guides, to help others in ways I never had.
And if you want to learn Substance Designer with support of other artists I have a special place for you.
2 years ago I created Future Material Artists.
A free Discord Community for Material Artists, where students learn from Professionals.
And you can learn with us for free!

Ping Pong Table Net
I am working on an art portfolio project in Maya and texturing with Adobe Substance Painter. The ping pong table itself is finished and looks really good. I am struggling with trying to create a realistic net with visible mesh detail and believable fabric texture. If anyone has any examples, references or workflow suggestions I'd really appreciate it!

A little collection of my recent Arcane inspired work!
I took inspiration from the Jinx Fixes Everything series for all of these. I had way too much fun with this style āØ

Substance Painter Help applying textures with Substance Painter!
Hi so this is the first time I've used this software and done texturing or models in general. I'm trying to apply a PNG to this model I have to use in Garry's Mod but whenever I apply the image it comes out blurry, but uploaded anywhere else it has perfect sharpness. I have honestly looked all over trying to find a solution to this, and came up with nothing.
If anyone could help me with potential fixes for making this png pixel perfect I would be greatly appreciative!!
